The food was okay. I ordered the chika chika boom boom enchiladas and they were decent. The deluxe tomatillo salsa however was the bomb.com. Service however was subpar. Our server Sammy took forever to take our drink order, hardly checked in, and I had to ask another server for our water refills. I've worked in the restaurant industry before so I tend to be rather lax when it comes to servers especially when it's rush hour but when you have about two parties in your section after lunch hour I'd expect service to be more attentive. read more

Quick recap after three visits: Margaritas are weak and when we request no salt, they always bring it with salt. Don't ever send a drink back, they'll remove the salt with their fingers and give it back to you. If you request an extra floater, they'll forget. Service is friendly but extremely inaccurate, inconsistent and forgetful. I've been overcharged two out of three visits. On one visit we were overcharged, waited forever to get it corrected then discovered the adjustment was still incorrect. The food is above average. Everything pertaining to the kitchen has been adequate. It appears the Front of the restaurant, wait staff, bartenders, food runners, etc simply are not adequately trained. I'll skip this place for a good while, hopefully they iron out these issues before they go out of business. Good luck! read more

I have too say the service at this location is amazing. I did a to go order and was so impressed. Super amazing service especially Heather. She was amazing. She took care of my whole order made sure we had everything we needed and was super friendly. I ordered the Chimichanga or Chuychanga. It was amazing! I have always loved Chuy's. It is one of my all time favorites. To go orders can be hit or miss with even the best restaurants. That is not the case here. One of the best to go experiences I have ever had. Love eating at Chuy's! My husband is not a huge fan, but he brings me because I love the chic a chic a boom boom lol. I eat several small bowls if the jalapeño green dip ( my mouth waters) of course I always save room for the tres leches cake only place I will eat tres leches! Our service is always friendly, prompt and delicious. The queso is also one my faves love the taste of Chuy's queso than many Tex mex restaurant. Margaritas are good. This was the first time that we tried Chuy's and I do have to say that it will probably be the last time. I have to agree with a previous reviewer that stated this was just not the normal TexMex preparation. The Pasadena location is brand new and we thought we would give it a try. The wait when we first arrived was about 20-25 minutes which is not to bad. We were seated and the chips and red salsa arrived and we started to review the menu. Our waitress, Liz, came and asked us for our order. We ordered the queso to start. My hubby decided on the Southwetern and I settled on the crispy tacos. Let me say that the red salsa is a little more spicy than the norm. When another waitress (Cookie) brought a tea refill to the table, she stated that we were missing something, she came back with the green salsa that tasted like ranch dressing to me. Our meals arrived and I can say that we just were not impressed at all by the food. It wasn't horrible, but did not stand out either. This place is amazing!!! The frozen margarita's are OMGOSH good, their sauces are so yummy, and the tres leches cake is to die for. We had wonderful customer service from both our waiter, John, and the manager, Daniel. Family friendly environment!!! My kids loved this place, and were crazy excited about the neat art they had hanging from the ceilings and walls. Imagine our surprise, when our bill included a $24 charge for 8 "Dasani" waters. PROBLEMS ARE: FIRST: The water was not Dasani. It wasn't even a wal mart brand of water. Cheapest bottled water you can buy. A CASE of that water didn't cost $2.50. They charged $3.00 per bottle. SECOND: Our waitress never told us she was charging $3.00 per bottle. I thought maybe they forgot about me so I hung up and called back. She said sorry but she did not know where the managers are but could take down my number to have one of them call me back. I told her don't bother. Food is poor unless you like the taste of over powering chilli powder in your food with the service being just as bad.
