I have been to Chuys now about four times. Each time, I have had excellent and quick service, and the food has been just great. No variation in quality of service or food. I usually order chili rellenos and cheese enchiladas with boom boom sauce. This restaurant states their beans and rice are vegetarian, so safe for vegetarians. Its always crowded, but the wait is worth it if you can deal with 20 minutes to 45 min waits. Go early. Salsa is awesome and everything tastes fresh! Tortillas are fantastic. Just have to keep asking for more because they only serve a limited amount each time, but they will keep bringing it. I like Abuelos also next door, but overall, Chuys is more consistent with quality and service, and I really don't like the ipad technology to be sitting on tables at Abuelos. Let me start off by saying that Chuys is my favorite restaurant. I have always received impeccable service and amazing food. Tonight, I called in to this location and said I would be placing a to go order. The employee who answered the phone, named Michael, said it was going to be 50 min to an hour wait. I told him I only wanted chips, queso and salsa and he said it would still be 50 min to an hour wait. I said really? Just for chips, queso and salsa??? I've been to other locations and even if they have a wait for to go getting chips, queso and salsa has never been a problem. What made matters worse was Michaels poor attitude and lack of willingness to assist in getting our order in a more timely fashion. Stopped in today for a quick bite and was just pleased. Nothing that blew us out of the water but also nothing that was too bad. The salsa is more of a garden fresh tomato dip with a little bit of heat. I got the quesadillas and those were pretty good. My husband said his enchiladas were great though. We went on a weeknight during happy hour and it was not crowded. I was very pleased with the happy hour free chips, beans, queso, and shredded beef, which our waitress told us we were welcome to even though we were not drinking or sitting in the bar. I got the chuyichanga, and it was just fine, but had way to much cilantro. Way, way too much cilantro. Once I picked most of leaves out it was edible, and the chicken itself was moist and flavorful. I wish that they actually used the shredded beef that they have for happy hour in some of their dishes... Our waitress informed me that it a Sunday special, and then the leftover beef is served throughout the week (so maybe go Monday for happy hour :) Honestly I would have been happiest helping myself to the happy hour goodies and loading them up in some tortillas, of course I would never do that, so next time I'll try something different or request no cilantro. Just a note, the creamy jalapeño sauce is cold-- basically just a ranch with some kick. I didn't think it was anything special. read more

I worked at Chuy's in Austin so this place holds a special place in my heart. It's always delicious. They've done a great job with the patio, it's right off the highway but you don't even notice because they play awesome good ole rock and roll at a nice level to keep out the car noise. During the week for HH they offer queso, beef, beans and fresh chips and salsa. #4 is my favorite, you choose your enchilada and relleno. I always go for the chicken on both. They chicken is roasted pulled chicken...FRESH. The deluxe tomatillo is my favorite sauce, it's a creamy sauce that has a nice tang with the added tomatillos. The relleno is has the perfect balance of cheese and pulled chicken. If you're looking for something a little different give the creamy jalapeno ranch a try, it's great with the chips. When it's 80 out side nothings better than the strawberry mango margarita. Thanks for bringing Chuy's up north. read more

avoid takeout on busy nights. the staff at the to go counter were fawning over a few guests (regulars? big tippers?) for example saying "this bag has this sauce, this bag has your..." etc. while people waited three deep. I saw one pregnant woman stand waiting for 20 mins then be told it will be an hour for your order, so she left. read more

Super disappointed in today's service when we went there for lunch. The server was trying to cover so many tables he kept running all over the restaurant and we could not find him or get his attention. He forgot the soup spoon, the tea, the tortillas and just all around basic service. I thought it was nice that he offered to take my soup and put it in a container for me. But when I got it back it was a small container and not even half of what I had left over in my bowl. Chuy's owes me a large soup! But I won't go back there again. OMG! I can't count the number of times we've eaten at Chuys. My mom loves to go because she and my dad use to stop at a Chuys when they traveled. My dad has passed since. Every time we go we though our orders are never correct. Funny thing is my mom orders the same dish, 2 cheese enchiladas, with texmex sauce a la carte and 1 tortilla. She got 2 chicken enchiladas with boom boom sauce. We returned it and explained the order again and received chicken enchiladas with texmex sauce and full salad - damn. My mom took one bite and left it; the chicken was bad and it wasn't what she ordered. I had tortilla soup and the only thing present was rubber chicken and 6 kernels of corn and maybe some carrot. I pulled out the chicken and drank the broth with a straw. My wife's was fine chilli rellenos. Should change the name to Crappy's. I never post reviews if I did you'd have so many. I was even charged for both of the wrong plates of enchiladas that the waiter took away (he took the order too). He did apologize :| really gee thanks! But this happens all the time. I only would go because my mom like too...never again. She now agrees. Enough is enough. Needless to say we went to Mico (we all know Mi Cocina). read more

My favorite restaurant in the entire world! Very reasonable prices, great service, great margaritas, and my favorite burritos! I'm always happy when I get a table at the bar, the service is always wonderful the waitstaff it's very knowledgeable and friendly. My favorite meal has been the Thursday special, that macho burrito. This location is by far the best I've ever tried. First of all the noise level was almost nonexistent as compared to the 290 Houston location where everyone always seems to be yelling over each other. One would think there shouldn't be much difference but the food is tons better than the one in Houston. The salsa and creamy jalapeno dip were very delicious. We have been coming here almost weekly for a year or so and have always had a good experience. If you come during lunch or dinner be prepared to wait for awhile. My wife always has the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. I normally have the special with Hatch sauce all over it. When you sit down with the chips have them bring some of the sauces out to dip you chips in too. read more

To be honest it is not Mexican food by a long shot, last time i was in Mexico it was hard to find ruffles fried chicken. But the food is tasty and fresh. I would go to the Chuys in Austin when I lived in Austin and it's the same great food, atmosphere, and AMAZING Jalepeno ranch. It's such a chill but loud and affordable place for a fun dinner. This is one of the better places for Tex-Mex in Dallas, and their happy hour is awesome. From 4-7pm every weekday (yes, including Fridays) they have happy hour with reduced price margaritas that are pretty strong and a free nacho bar with chips, salsa, queso, refried beans, and ground beef. It's hard to find a happy hour with free food, especially on a Friday. For their regular menu, they use green chilies in a lot of dishes. I recommend the green chili enchiladas and the fried stuffed avocado. They have daily specials as well, and those are always good. read more

On a base level, I can safely say I really like all Chuy's. I like their fun twist on tex-mex and their drinks (particularly the New Mexican margarita). I'm writing this great review for this location because this Chuy's blows all other Chuy's out of the water in regards to food quality. I've gone to more Chuy's locations than I'd like to admit, and this place hits the mark every time. I've tried every type of entree from this Chuy's and it is always spot on. Fresh high quality ingredients with great presentation. You can tell the managers here really work to be consistently above average. My wife, our son and I ate here tonight and the experience was phenomenal! Our waiter Charlie was energetic, funny, had an awesome personality (even when our 3 year old decided to make some of the chips "fly like a bird" as he put it). Charlie was on point with our refills on drinks, making sure that we had everything we needed even though it was a BUSY Friday night... many kudos! Every time I've been here, the visit has been enjoyable but tonight was one of the best nights out to a restaurant that we've had in a while. Salsa is very fresh with a light citrus flavor. You can tell the tortillas are made in house- they are delicious! Definitely a must try
