This us the secon time coming here. Came by because i wanted a beer and done soup during tge cold weather. I wanted so caldo de polo (chicken soup) but they only had seafood soups. I ordered the camaron y pescado (shrimp and fish soup) came out pretty quick and was boiling hot! Saw that it had a nice helping of shrimp but the fish was only a little piece.. Any the shrimp came with rhe geads and the shell and key me tell you trying to peel those suckers while hot was an ordeal. The shrimp were pretty big pulling the heads off was not fun cause all the juice was in the head and when you pulled it iff the soup would splatter burning my hands and spashing everywhere smh... Soup 6 outa 10 All in all killed the soup and flavor was good. Sprnt anout $16 on it i think. read more

Craving Mexican and wanted to try a new local Garland/Plano establishment. They supported masks and cleaning to keep all safe. It was around 2 so no problem social distancing. Betty waited on us she spoke English and was a delightful person. We shared queso and beef fajitas, both where very flavorful. Only reason not a 5 is they do not make their own tortillas. For some authentic Tex Mex El Patron is a place to try. Forgot to mention homemade salsa was garlicky and just the right heat. read more

I wanted to give this place a chance, despite the not so good reviews, but unfortunately it was a big disappointment The service was not good at all - our waitress would sit at the table next to us and play on her phone instead of checking on us. She brought to-go boxes after we flagged her down, but never brought our check until we had to finally flag her down again. It was barely even busy (maybe 2 tables total in the place including us), so no excuse The food was ok but not great - the chicken was in chunks and not shredded, so kind of weird. We were hungry so we ate it but it wasn't worth the price. They gave me a very tiny portion of pico...and they didn't have charro beans which is odd for a Mexican restaurant in Texas The margarita was a decent size for $8...I think that was the only high point Overall, despite really wanting to like this place and support a local business, the very poor, inattentive service and mediocre food leads me to suggest you find elsewhere to dine out read more

Stopped in for a beer because it was close to our hotel. Friendly staff at the bar and plenty of room. Waitress did not speak English but we knew enough Spanish to get by and the Manager was quick to jump in to help when needed. We snacked on chips and salsa, had a few beers and ordered combo fajitas for two to-go. We got to the room and were shocked at how much food we had. It was two boxes full of meat and two boxes full of the set up/sides. Easily could have shared one order but hey, we got great left overs out of it! Had dinner here, and out of a table of 4 people we were all really impressed with the food. Nobody had a bad dish. The tacos al pastor and asada were both incredible, especially with the avocado jalapeno sauce. The flautas were really good, and a really large portion (three of the largest flautas I've ever seen). The fajitas were terrific, with beef and shrimp that were juicy and well seasoned. The chimichanga was enormous, and it was available with a wide array of meats including the same amazing pastor used in the tacos. The only fault I can find with the restaurant was that the service wasn't the best. The waitress spoke English but not well and we had a few misunderstandings, but the manager was on top of it often coming over to clarify if necessary. Honestly, though? I would endure being actively yelled at while I ate my food for more of those tacos (not that that would happen here). This place is worth it. Plus it was pretty cheap, especially given the portion sizes. I will absolutely be eating here regularly and I hope that get all of the business they deserve. read more

This place has a good atmosphere but the food was horrible. Am so so sorry to say that. Had great expectations. The queso seems to be from a can. You are also charged for tea refills (same amount as a new glass) - the grilled chicken from the fajitas is the only reason they have a one star everything else is a no. Came in to pick up some food after work. There were kids all over the place & in the kitchen. The kitchen staff came out with a kid in his hands then went back to prepare the food without washing his hands. Got my food (oysters and shrimp cocktail). The shrimp cocktail was decent, but the oysters were spoiled. Very dangerous & unsanitary. read more

Decided to stop by around 5pm yesterday as last minute stop. We'd been driving around looking for a place to eat when we ran into this place. First red flag, there were no cars parked outside at all. Second red flag was that the only customers there, were 2 guys sitting at bar. We walk in through first set of doors & against our better judgement, we walk through next set of doors. We stood there deciding whether we wanted to try it or not. I was already frustrated so I told sister we should just stay. It seems like the waitstaff is used to people immediately walking out because they didn't stand up until we kept walking towards table. Sister still wanted to leave but by this time I was just embarrassed to do it. We sit down & place our order. I ordered 3 lengua tacos, some pricey queso with chips & lemonade & my sister ordered the chile relleno plate with coke. They bring out some salsa that did not taste like it was freshly made. They bring out my tacos & queso first & then 5ish minutes later they bring the chile relleno. The queso was so watered down. I was so disappointed with the lengua tacos since I wasn't expecting them to be cooked in this red sauce. I took 2 bites & just couldn't get over the weird bitter aftertaste so I set it aside. The queso then started to look good to me now so I ate queso & chips for dinner. Now let's move on to my sister's plate which didn't look too bad. She cut the middle of it & the cheese inside wasn't even melted at all. I wish I had taken a picture of it. We called waitress to show her & asked if they could warm it up in microwave. She apologized a lot & took plate back, showing it to manager on the way. It took longer to warm it up than what it took the first time. My sister pretty much just ate the cheese, a little of the rice & beans. We really just wanted to get out of there so we asked for our checks. I still tipped 20% because none of it was her fault. I asked for a to go container since I decided to bring my tacos for my sister's dogs. If you notice the reviews, the only people that gave it 5 stars are white, which they don't know better so can't fault them for it. To add insult to injury, the owner of this MEXICAN restaurant was ASIAN which makes me understand the watered down crap we got served a little better. Needless to say, we will never go back to this place & definitely do not recommend. read more

Went there for the first time, right around the corner from my apartment. Had a very strange experience at the bar that has never ever happened to me before in my life. I wanted to order a Mojito. They didn't have any mint leaves and couldn't make it. Ok, fine. I decided on a Dirty Martini. That wasn't possible either. Alright, I asked for an Apple Martine (off the menu mind you). Oh, yeah, sorry, not possible either. I was told that it's because the place recently opened. I don't get it. Are you ready for business or aren't you? What a horrible excuse. Went there to have lunch on 5/29/2019. Should have known not to waste my time when at 11:30 am the doors were not open and their hours say they open at 11:00 am. After debating to stay the girl came and opened the door. No one was in the place obviously. We sat down and requested iced tea. So happy to have a mom and pop sit-down Mexican restaurant nearby that isn't a walk-in walk-out taqueria. Our food was delicious! I wish the salsa was spicier, but it had a great flavor. I plowed through my bowl and half my husband's. The green sauce that was brought out with our meal was fire (spice wise and taste wise). We put that on everything. My husband said the rice is just like his mom's - literally the biggest compliment he can give. We will definitely be back. read more
