Food is good. I had the Mexi-Cobb salad, but the enchiladas looked really good. I'm getting them next time.

So I have been back to this location a few times since leaving the last review. Originally, I gave it another chance because the manager reached out, but continued going back because the quality and service has improved considerably. The waitstaff that I've had the last few times has been extremely attentive, and the food has been what I expect from Chuys. Ok tex - mex food and friendly staff. That being said i've given chuy's multiple tries, and they've never gotten my order right. It's one thing to mess up an order once or twice but after the 4 or 5th time, sorrys and excuses get old something needs to change if you cant get a simple order right --- it would be nice to receive pay for what i ordered the first time. read more

Have been wanting to try this Chuy's location since it opened. Have been a fan of the company for a long time in Austin. Went in on Monday evening and it was a very light crowd when we arrived. The hostess and several servers were congregated up front at the host/hostess stand. We were immediately seated and had chips and salsa within 45 seconds of being seated. A young male server "Tiger" on his name tag introduced himself as he was passing by with drinks for another table and advised he would be right with us. About 4-5 minutes later he returned and took our drink and food order. About 5 minutes after that we had my tea and a water for my friend, who had also ordered a frozen margarita. We had already consumed the entire bowl of chips and salsa prior to receiving any drinks. We asked for some creamy jalapeño dressing in a bowl and some more chips. It came a few minutes later with the margarita. Okay. At this point it wasn't the best service or the absolute worse and we noticed business was starting to pick up quite a bit. It appeared that the restaurant was staffed adequately. After consuming the entire second bowl of chips and dressing, our food finally arrived. It was brought out by either kitchen staff or a different server and looked nice. My tea was empty and she didn't offer to fill it or ask if we needed anything else, just walked off quickly. Our server NEVER checked on us and we had to flag him down to get the dressing we needed for my friend's salad. When we finally got his attention he was advised that I needed a tea refill and I stated "as soon as you get a chance". He returned with the dressing after a couple of minutes. NO TEA. We never got a refill on our salsa bowl, by the way. At this point it was obvious we had no priority on his service list. We observed a Manager stroll through the dining area 4 times over 15 minutes and never ask a single customer if they needed anything or if they were enjoying their meals. He never assisted staff and never lifted a finger for anyone. Just walked around oblivious to his ability to affect his company's profit margin or attitude of the employees and comfort of the patrons. I physically got up and walked into the kitchen myself and got my own tea refill!!! We were never offered dessert, never offered additional margaritas, nothing!! I hope that "Tiger" enjoyed waiting on his buddies in the booth he spent all of his time with!! I hope that they tipped him well on their college budget, cause he sure missed out on a good tip from us. Corporate Management should send in some "secret shoppers" and see what they are paying this manager for. Bet that would changed some things!! We won't waste any more money here! read more

I really like this Chuy's, their chips and salsa is good, their mexican martinis are tasty, and I like their food here. Their menu is not expansive, but what they do, they do pretty well. We always see the same bartender there and he is *always* hustling. The service here is pretty quick and they're being careful with COVID. This place is our Taco Tuesday go-to, even if we don't get tacos! :-) Get some jalapeño-ranch to go with your chips and salsa, it's delish! read more

We we're in San Marcos for the 4th and had dinner here. The place was packed and the wait was 30-45 minutes. Once we got seated though the service and food were great! Loved their chili relleno and stacked enchiladas!! The sopapillas were good too! read more

The service is okay, I know the place is always busy but I have been left to sit without updates on my food for 30 minutes before, had my order gotten wrong, and the food was already getting cold by the time we got it. I want to like Chuy's, its a Texas cult fave, but it's just not really for me. The steak burrito and creamy jalapeno sauce are delicious, but there's not to much to write home about when it comes to Chuy's. The beans are also almost more spice than flavor and kill my stomach, and the rice is also very mediocre. read more

We've been to many Chuys in Texas but this location was by far our best experience. They were able accommodate our very large party of 26 and we only waited 30 mins to be seated. The hostess was sweet and our waitstaff were amazing. We wanted for nothing. One of our plates was forgotten and the manager took care us promptly and so sweetly. We had the best time and we will most certainly be back! My only regret is that we neglected to get the names of our waitstaff and the manager. We were there for a celebratory dinner for our graduate and for our little birthday girl. Our great experience tonight was just the perfect ending to a wonderful day. After six months in the Texas Hill Country I'd nearly given up hope of finding anything resembling the tasty cuisine of New Mexico, especially the green chile. Then we ran into another New Mexico transplant who recommended Chuy's. Jackpot! Roasted Hatch green chile! Stacked enchiladas! Sopaipillas! Tex-Mex fans don't despair, Chuy's has menu selections for you, too. Fans of authentic Mexican food will be glad to know they have molé on the menu too. I ordered the custom enchiladas, with chicken, green chile sauce, green chile rice, and charro beans. I should have requested stacked rather than rolled (my bad), otherwise everything was great. The chile sauce was very hot, as promised by the menu. The green chile rice was a tasty variation on the usual Spanish rice. I wasn't wild about the charro Beans--too much sauce and the beans were small. But the enchiladas took me back to great meals in Santa Fe, Española, Taos, and Albuquerque. Had we been in New Mexico the sopaipillas would have been free, but these were so good I didn't mind paying for them. Perfect! We also shared an order of flan, also delicious! My wife and I came in last night and absolutely loved it! The inside is very fun and clean (even the bathrooms were spotless). My wife wanted the combination fajitas for 1 with beef and shrimp instead of chicken and our waiter Megan went above and beyond to make that happen! (Ask for her) She also let me know that I could sample sauces to make sure I like them before ordering my food! Overall very sweet and made our date night super special. Thank you! Edit: I've tried this place a few times since and it's been great! First time must have been an off day! Went from 1 star, to 3, to 5 :) As someone who worked in a restaurant for 4.5 years.. to me, service is everything. I went and ordered my food with my 3 month old and a friend. Took longer then it should have but I let it go. When the food arrived I also ordered food to go. A normal dinner salad and regular nachos. It took 25+ mins to get my to go order. 4 chips with beans cheese and lettuce shouldn't take this long. About 7 tables had come and gone since we got there. As my baby began to scream and I stood there for 8 mins so he wouldn't upset other tables I complained to a manager. Her fix? Offer me an appetizer to go. No I don't want to wait longer for food when it's taken this long. I guess the waitress doesn't care because the manager doesn't. Needless to say being 30, this is the first time I ever gave a bad tip. So in other words unless you're prepared to wait for them to possibly grow your lettuce from scratch and take a long time.. don't go here! Edit: the gm called concerned about my experience and offered a meal for two to show me they're better then that. What a grand gesture! So moving from 1 star to 3 for now.. after my next experience I'll base it off of that! read more

However we were on our lunch break and they were super busy, we had to get our food togo and they did not charge us for any of our meals. Chuy's did not have to do that we are very grateful. I'm a bit torn here since j love their nacho bar SO much but their actual menu food is garbage. Tastes like an old white person who went to Cancun once on a cruise and had enchiladas for the first time and then decided that they had a passion for Mexican food. Really nasty. And bland. But their happy hour comes with a free nacho bar & drinks aren't too bad. Though I will say I was disappointed that they only had tequila despite listing martinis on their drink menu. Don't get it. Came in last night with my roommates and had a great experience! Our server, Lauren C. was on top of her game. She always refilled our chips and creamy jalapeño sauce before we got to the bottom, was super friendly, and just overall was awesome. Our food came out super quick and was so delicious.
