I am very disappointed. I went in and was given a single letter size paper with their menu on it. I usually get a regular order of their nachos and the Elvis Presley special. My waiter that the only items available were on the paper. I go out to eat 5 days a week and never ran into this situation. This is my fav tex mex place. I really like the jalapeño green sauce. I typically get the comida deluxe, it is a nice sampling and you could make two meals out of it. So I really like Chuy's. I was there for lunch the other day and a few careless citizens came in without masks. The poor little hostess tried to enforce the state MANDATE for mask wearing. The two gentleman, in scrubs mind you, threatened to go elsewhere. A manager over heard and intervened letting these two super-spreaders into the restaurant anyway. This crap reinforces the bad behavior of rebels, undermines your employees trying to do the right thing. It puts our community and our economy at risk. If they can't enforce mask wearing in the front of the house, what's going on in the back of house where the food is prepared? Thanks Chuy's for putting your business before the health of the community. Not only will you lose my business but maybe that of conscientious others, too. All for the sake of a couple non-compliant jerks wanting COVID on their tacos. read more

This rating is hard to write, we've been coming to this location for many years. It's really sad to see the place falling apart. The water in the bathroom sink is running and cannot be turned off. The air conditioning ( hello!! we are in East Texas) does not work‍, so since it's hot and there is food..... Flies, gross flies !! Yuck. I recall last summer a problem with the AC not working, but we thought it was fixed..... apparently not. I will write a better review if they address the problems, and give this location some much needed TLC. 5 stars for the food and service. read more

Poor Poor Customer Service! and quality control!!!!. I worked all day and decided to get something quick at this Chuys restaurant in Shenandoah. It was 8:30pm on a Monday so I thought I would go to the bar and order to go and not be one of those customers strolling in late right at close. I met the bartender lady and she said since it is a to go order and they are close to closing she does not do that type of order at the bar, so she would get a to-go person to handle my order. While waiting for the to-go waiter to take my order, one of the waitresses asked the bartender to make a drink for one of her customers. The bartender replied that she would make the drink, and make it strong enough for him to get on his way. It seemed as if she did not want to be there and I felt like an ass for even going there late and ordering a to-go order. I finally got my Fajita and left feeling uncomfortable in that rushed setting. I thought "no big deal, I get it, they are just rushing to get home". So I finally drive home from Chuys with my Fajitas and am tired and ready to eat and just thinking about having sat at Chuys feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable because I was a customer coming in just before closing hours. I then thought to myself, oh well?! And while opening up my fajitas ready to eat., there were No Floor tortillas in the To-go bag. Total waste of my time going to Chuys... My boyfriend went here with his friends and he was so excited to bring me here. I was so excited for the tacos. When I got my food their was a black curly hair in my food. We came out and luckily there wasn't a wait for a table. We decided for a change from fajitas and as we don't eat carbs, got the Chile relleno fried instead of battered. It was the sloppiest plate I've seen in a restaurant. In addition, the beef inside (beside being barely warm) was so flavorless. There was also no sour cream over top which we were told it came with so we had to ask for it too. Massive disappointment in the food, the service and the food temperature. Avoid this place. Today was our first time to a Chuy's. We just moved to Spring and we were craving Mexican. When we walked in, we were greeted and everyone was very friendly. We were sat and our server was a little busy, so his section buddy got our drinks and dips. That is a huge plus to me seeing people trained that way and helping one another. After sitting for a moment, we realized they were trying to squeeze a large party to our left and that if we were to move, they would have more room. We told our server, Santi, and the manager, Dena, that we wouldn't mind to move a table over if it would help them to fit their party. She was extremely grateful because then she would be able to add another table even with ours and offered us a free piece of Tres Leches cake. Once we moved, another manager came over, Lisa, and thanked us profusely and also offered us free queso and a shirt for our daughter. Both managers were on top of things and I thought handled what was happening greatly. Santi was an awesome server. Kept up with us and his other tables and the large party of 30 that trickled in. Super friendly. We loved it! Our food was great too! The creamy jalapeño dip was yummy! I think it's my new favorite. Salsa was more on the pico side but it was still good and the queso was good with a little heat! We tried the Green Chile Pork Carnitas. They were very tender. I love Carnitas and the sauce they were cooked in was YUMMMM. It was enough for me and my husband to share. We had plenty of homemade tortillas to share also. The charro beans were good too! But it's not like traditional Mexican beans with your rice. It's different but good! Use the carnitas sauce for your rice, you'll love it. That tres leches cake doe.....get. It. Waitress was good. Food was meh. Had much better, had worse. I was unpleasantly surprised as I've eaten at Chuy's in the Dallas area and always been happy with my meal. Tonight's food was unimpressive. Steak was dry, ground beef was salty, tortillas were rubbery, and just overall pretty lousy. I had they the steak burrito, my companion had the soft tacos. No wonder there are a LOT more cars at Pappasitos nearby. Average service nothing special and NO cloth napkins, just a few paper ones. Had had to ask for the napkins and silverware. No plates were ever delivered so you basically had to eat off the table. Queso beef dip was really bad and the chips looked like someone ran over them. After a long wait which is norm here, our group was seated. 10 minutes later drinks order was taken with some sides, only took 3 times for bring it out. Then had to ask twice for refills of drink. Then food order was taken which began arriving about over an hour later. One order came in appeared sitting for a while as cheese had dark color and plate temperature was gone. When inquired it was not received well per servers face expression. Well replacement arrived when all had food finished and were ready to leave. So had to leave with only chips and what they call salsa, a water down no taste version, and ranch dressing as a dip for chips. Don't know who had prepared the menu which was terrible. Manager did took out item and offered coupons and desert for their unacceptable service which we declined as we told them we are not ever returning. I should have known we were in trouble when the waiter camE out 15 minutes after gE took the order to confirm the type of sauce on the enchilada. It was the first restaurant I'd had lunch at in all of Texas. My mind was blown. So THIS IS TEXMEX?!?! I'm hooked. Fast forward 15 years and I find myself now living in The Woodlands and guess what?! We have a Chuy's!!! My favorite meal here is the "big as yo face burrito" with Fajita Chicken & either Boom Boom Sauce, or Hatch Green Chile sauce on top. OMG. Life changing! Pair with a cold cold beer on a hot summer day and BAM! You're DONE! Call it in. That's all you need. Life is complete. Very good food, but very popular too. I have had to wait because few tables, but worth the wait. The margaritas are famous here and so are the enchiladas. The fajitas are very good here too. I have had quite a few things on the menu. The servers are very friendly and responsive. Very loud restaurant, so if you want a quiet place, this isn't it. This is a great place to come with a group of friends/family for Some Tex Mex. There is a good menu selection and the prices are lower than what you would normally see in the area. I've been here many times throughout the years and can say that I have always experienced good to service from the wait staff and the food generally speaking has been good. I went to Chuy's specifically for their Chicken Tortilla Soup which I love. As usual it met my expectations and was delicious. I also ordered chicken quesadillas. They were cooked a tad too long and were a little crispy. My 2 stars is given for the service I received. The restaurant was not busy by any means however I sat waiting for over 25 minutes for my server to come back to my table and bring my to go containers as well as 8 oz of jalapeño ranch sauce and chips. She did not even come to the booth next to mine during that time as well. Very disappointed for sure. read more

Combo #4 with a shrimp chile relleno and cheese Tex-mex enchilada is my go-to. My husband loves the ground beef burrito with queso and my kids will eat anything and everything off the kid menu.
