The waitress was sweet, but remained slow throughout the entire meal. Our waitress never offered drink refills, and we waited extended periods for a to-go box and our check before finally going to the cashier ourselves. The biggest issue was a strong sewage-like odor coming from the restroom area. We were seated nearby, and every time the bathroom doors opened, the smell drifted into the dining room. Even the handwashing station in the dining area had the same unpleasant odor. The food looked great when it arrived, and the chips and salsa seemed fresh. However, I was disappointed to learn they no longer serve guacamole with their fajitas. The chicken fajitas arrived sizzling hot, but became very dry as they cooled. They were spicy, but lacked much flavor. The rice and beans were good. Overall, between the slow service, unpleasant smell, and mediocre food, I would not return or recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of other Mexican restaurants in Waco that I'd try before coming back here.

This is my personal favorite for Tex-Mex! Food is very consistent, always good, and you can customize your order to suit your heat tolerance, portion size, and preferred ingredients. Their happy hour nacho car is VERY popular so be patient; but the free queso is worth the wait. And lastly don't miss the margaritas! They make some of the best I've tried. One word of caution; not all Chuy's are equal. I've tried many but Waco's is among the best in the chain. I was in Waco over the past week with a close relative in Hillcrest Hospital. You really don't want to eat the hospital food, so I ventured out to Chuy's right there next to the hospital. I was very impressed with the wait staff, the greeters and especially the cook. They have this thing called Blanca Chicken Enchiladas that they only serve on Fridays. It was so good, I had tears welling up in my eyes. I needed a moment alone just to get my composure. Love Chuy's food and it is consistently delicious. The drinks are always good too, but this particular location could work on their service a little bit. The hostess was very short with my wife when she asked a very polite question about what they were offering currently as far as to-go options. I get Togo here all the time. A Few weeks ago, this kid named Ronni or something dropped off my order. Seemed clueless and had the personality of a tree stump. Adding insult to injury, the table behind us had 14 seated PLUS we simply asked them to divide the check in equal part by 5 and we are held hostage by the poor math skills of our very nice server.
