This place should teach a class on hospitality. We came in for dinner a few weeks back right before Thanksgivings Our server was one of the most friendly and accommodating I've ever had. The kitchen sent out the wrong meal for one of the guests in our party, and before we even had a chance to get upset, she immediately solved the issue by getting in the correct order and comping the dish. Mediocre Mexican at Best...the food just really didn't taste like much. I had this weird chunky salad dressing and the salad dinner didn't taste like much. Really good food! The tortilla chips are really delicious and the service is great. I love the deluxe chicken enchilada; great sauce, and not too much food on the plate. The only thing wrong with this place is how absolutely busy it is. I have gone at every hour on every day and the shortest wait has been 25 minutes, at most it can get to almost 2 hours! We are Arvada locals who are excited for new places to eat on our end of town and wish we had a downtown food scene up here but we don't, so we tried the newest to hit the Promenade scene tonight. We sat at the bar and my husband had combo fajitas and I had a chili rellano/enchilada combo plate. We also had a texas style marg. Bad/annoying first: 1. It took 3 tries to get water. 2. It seemed the bar tenders were more concerned about closing side work than attending to guests. I'm also in the industry and understand that if you don't get going on your sidework, you'll be there 2 hours after close, but sidework should never take precidence over the guest experience. 3. The servers where a little too riley at the visible server station at the bar well. I'm always happy when we see happy staff. It means they are loving their job, their management team probably takes care of them and a happy server means happy service. However, I do think there is a fine line between having fun at work and being oblivious to the exposed guest experience. The servers were singing loudly, yelling at each other across the room, one was making an obnoxious dying turkey gobble sound at one point, and no one seemed aware that the guests were just 10 feet from them. When the server banter is so obnoxious that it takes over my husband and I's conversation and we can't hear each other talk any longer because of server noise (as opposed to a bustling, full restaurant), it becomes a problem. Just take it down one notch, just one, because we all still like to have fun at work. The good: 1. The food was great. Better than Rio hands down. 2. At one point the bartender had a little extra frozen pina and shared it with us. Free samples always make for a fun time. 3. The general atmosphere was great (minus the loud servers). Amazing, mouth-watering, consistent, and hands down the best Tex Mex you will eat! We moved to CO from Texas last summer and were SO EXCITED that Colorado's first Chuy's was coming to Westminster. The food was as great as ever and the sauces are always on point. I especially recommend the creamy jalapeño, deluxe tomatillo, big as your face burritos, and the tres leches! Really Disappointed in Chuy's after seeing the 4 Star review. First of all the restaurant was so loud inside you can't even hear yourself think. We ordered the Supreme Nachos with meat (Panchos as they are called on the menu). What we got was what resembled several Tostadas cut in half with some Refried Beans and cheese and then the meat we added. A little bit of Pico and Guac on the side.... These are not Nachos! So all you people who want frou frou boundary-pushing "cuisine" or tongue searing (and, in my humble opinion, taste bud destroying) spiciness can go to...well, not Texas. The place looks cool, the drinks were good, and we had quick service but the food.... ugh never again. My husband had a steak burrito but it barely had any steak and the tortilla was soggy and stretchy. I had a combo and half of it was drenched in melted cheese. My enchilada was supposed to be cheese and chicken and was only cheese with 2 pieces of chicken. So no I won't eat here again. And I do not recommend it. read more

First I want to leave FIVE Stars for our waiter Jordan. He was not only professional and attentive, he went out of his way to make us happy. He brought a plate of all of the sauces for us to try, he refilled our chips, he even brought samples of the margaritas, which were delicious, by the way. The regular margarita actually tasted like it had booze in it. All are slushy, so watch out for brain freeze. Now for the food. I have a partial nightshade allergy, and can't eat red pepper. Two of the sauces were out as they were clearly full of chili powder. Both of the quesos were delicious but queso on a burrito or relleno just doesn't sound right. I want green chili. Both green chili options were fire hot. If I could have had some medium I would have been very pleased. The creamy jalapeno sauce was delicious, but it was more like spicy ranch salad dressing. We drizzled it over the sides of lettuce and tomato and had a very nice little salad, but it just wasn't right to use instead of green chili. DH had chicken tacos, soft shell corn, exactly as he likes them. There was plenty of guacamole, cheese, pico de gallo on the side along with beans and rice and the chicken was moist and tender. Only two tacos, though, so if you're hungry you should order one extra taco. I had chicken chimi and a relleno. I was terribly excited about the relleno, it is just beautiful, but on my second bite I hit the seeds. Very disappointed. Ten years ago you would never find seeds in a relleno. Now restaurants are so LAZY and leave the seeds in; I hate the seeds. They should not be there and they completely ruin the relleno. Very disappointed. You don't get bell pepper seeds when bell pepper is used in a recipe, you don't get canteloupe seeds when you order a dish of canteloupe; you should not get seeds in your relleno. It takes ten seconds or less to run your finger down the side of a pepper and rinse out the seeds. I would just order four or five rellenos no matter how much they cost if I knew the seeds would be removed, I love them so much. My chicken chimichanga (Chuychanga) was delicious with the same moist and flavorful chicken that DH had on his tacos. The flour tortilla around it was crispy fried, much crisper than any Mexican place I've been to for years, but kind of strange, more like thick pie dough than a flour tort. Probably because they make their own and maybe that batch had too much lard in it, I don't know. I was forced to stick with the tomatillo sauce that was tasty but a little too mild. Actually I should have asked for half tomatillo and half green chili ... I'll do that next time, as the tomatillo should help to lessen the fiery heat of the chili. There was much more beans and rice than anyone could possibly eat. Beans were pretty thick like right out of the can, rice way overcooked but seasoned nicely. No cheese was on the beans; they were plain, and usually I eat my leftover beans as a dip with the leftover chips, but the beans were so thick and dry and the chips are so thin and light it was impossible to dip without the chips just crumbling. It sounds like a lot of complaints, but we did enjoy our meal. We'll go back and try it again but expect to enjoy it more next time, now that we know what it is like. The first time at a Mexican place is always a learning processes, I think. So, five stars for Jordan, five stars for service, three stars for food. read more

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon when they were quite busy and our service was excellent. However, all of us were unimpressed with the food. In my wife's case, she hardly touched her dish because of the amount of cilantro in it (the waiter had even suggested that dish because he said it had "very little" cilantro in it).
