Chuy's has a great refreshing menu with great portion sizes. This place is a great value for money and crazy busy during the weekends. A few things which would be good is employing more peope on busy hours coz there was a long wait to get our food. Also, maybe because it was busy, the service was average. Chuy's is awesome! The food and service were fantastic. Our server Jasmine was training Waleed and both were not only polite but very efficient and made sure all our needs were taken care of. The manager Maurice was very helpful and attentive to us and all the tables around us and the servers as they needed his assistance. The portions were huge and very filling and enough to bring extra home. They have a huge selection of sauces and you can choose any of them for your meal. They are also very accommodating with alterations. Our two year old had the chicken fingers and they were the best I have ever tasted, as she insisted that I try them. I asked the brand and it turns out they make them in house. She enjoyed them as well and kept saying "so yummy!" The soft tacos, chicka chicka boom boom and the burrito as big as your head with fajita chicken were all fresh and fabulous. We will definitely be returning and trying more items. And if you want pure decadence the tres leches cake was beyond fabulous. None of the four of us in our party are normally fans of this particular dessert but Chuy's changed all our minds! The prices are very reasonable and the variety on the menu allows for anyone to find something they will enjoy. read more

Came in for lunch on Friday, May 20, 2016. Staff was prompt in seating us. Our server was Alexander and he was probably the best server we've had at any restaurant in quite some time. Even though he had a few tables, he made it seem like we were his only one, being attentive and even striking up conversation with our 1 year old! The food was great! I ordered the sirloin beef burrito and it was amazing. I've been on the ropes about Chuy's. I've been going to the one in Springfield with family and never really enjoyed it. I stopped going altogether but decided I'd give the Woodbridge location a shot. This experience may have won me over! read more

Go to El Paso around the corner.... SERIOUSLY go! MUCH better food. Staff was friendly, well kind of. Wait is entirely too long for anything. Food was room temp at most with the film that appears on sauces after it has set out too long.. Chips are horridly thin and greasy. If anyone thinks this food is 'come back' worthy is drunk on the margaritas by the time food appears. The lay out was much better when is was Macaroni Grill. Now its too tight and I watched as several staff tripped or bumped into each other several times. I dont get why anyone waits for any amount of time for this place. read more

I've visited Chuy's in both Woodbridge and Fairfax on a number of different occasions with decent service and have never been disappointed. Except for my most recent trip. I ordered the Strawberry Mojito for my friend and I , though when it arrived, it was more lime juice than strawberry or mint. Our waiter seemed somewhat uninterested in serving us and when I asked him for his opinion between 2 different dishes to help me make up my mind, it seemed as though he gave me a BS answer. I got the impression he hadnt had either item or didn't want to offer any real feed back and just picked one. Despite that, I went along with his suggestions. After taking our order, our waiter disappeared until our food was done. When it arrived, he made mention of "i hope you like some spice!" as he handed me the plate. Sadly, I have a very low tolerance for spice and often opt for dishes that have great flavor but little heat. I was taken aback when he said that because the other menu choice I was debating wouldn't have had any spice to it. I wish he would've mentioned the heat difference between the two dishes when making his suggestion. I tried to be a good spot about it and push the spicy sauce off the top of my meal and eat around the saturated parts but to no avail. It was pretty spicy and ultimately upset my stomach as result. I pushed the plate across the table for my friend to eat. Another 20-30 mins after bringing out plates, the waiter returned to ask how it was going and said "oh well you ate most of it." I assured him that i wasnt the one who was eating it. At that point, my friend was done with his plate and attempting to finish mine - tho he admitted the heat level was pretty intrusive even with his high tolerance for spice/heat. As my friend is finishing the dish, the waiter asked "can i bring you something else? im so sorry" -- now honestly, I did appreciate the offer, but would've appreciated it even moreso had he asked me after the first bite or two and not when the food was nearly gone. I didn't want to wait around for another plate to be made/prepared so i turned down his offer. Once i declined, he asked if there was anything else he could do and without even a response from us, he laid the check on the table and walked away. He did return shortly to fill my friends water but actually spilled more water on the table than he got in the glass and didn't bother to wipe it up. Thankfully I had a stash of napkins to sop up the table. As we waited for him to pick up our check, another family was seated directly behind us to which the same waiter was much more friendly and gave a much more thorough explanation of menu items and even offered one member of that party "sauce on the side" in case it was too hot. That put me over the edge. All in All, the waiter was my biggest complaint. Treat all customers the same and be honest. Stay attentive to your guests and be present. This experience won't necessarily deter me from visiting Chuy's again, but if I ever have that same waiter again, i will indefinitely ask to be seated in another section! read more

So I recently tried this place and it was good not great. The service was excellent and I have no complaints in that department. The food however was at best mediocre. One thing I did enjoy was the homeade tasting salsa! I ordered a burrito with fajita chicken and jalapeno sauce. The burrito was large and came with Mexican rice. The chicken really did have a nice flavor but that was about it. I found it incredibly salty and not well done. It was pretty dry and packed with refried beans. When there is a Chipotle about a quarter of a mile away at a higher quality level and much cheaper price it was definitely a let down. The jalapeno sauce was amazing and my favorite part of the dish. You will probably not hate this place but it also probably will not be your new favorite restaurant either. read more

A solid five for the Happy hour. We came for an early (4:30) dinner. We asked about happy hour drinks and the waiter (Kevin) suggested we check out the taco bar. Well we stuffed ourselves in the taco bar and had no room for dinner. We did have room for a couple of killer margaritas. I would love to know how they kept the taco meat so tender. Bottom line is we had didn't order dinner and fed ourselves for the price of a couple of good drinks. Great value good food and great service. Ate outside on their patio on a very pleasant day. First time I had been to this establishment, and was impressed not only with the food, but how fast the service was. I was waiting on a friend to arrive and multiple employees asked if someone had approached me even though I had water and chips and salsa on the table already. First time at a Chuy's. We were a party of four. Our server, Jodi was very attentive and a pleasure. No problems with our "special" orders and the food came out hot and tasty. They have a complimentary self serve chip bar that we enjoyed. The prices were fair for the amount of food served (something that the restaurant at this location before lacked!) Our only complaints: The music was a tad loud, the tables a little too close to each other and the pina colada was watered down, lacked flavor. We will definitely visit again. read more

Had a chance to try chuys last weekend .The curb side service was great and food was good but for one thing their was no meat in the taco's.I Will try this place again but if it happens again I will take pictures of the food and send them to the owners of the company asking if this place is just another place that doesn't put any meat on their tacos and I will not return here and eat the food. read more

I wish I would have reviewed on my other visits but I didn't. The dining experience at lunch during the week was very good. That's why we have come several times and I even brought a client here. However, on a Saturday for dinner was a completely different story. The one hostess should just get another job. She brings us to a booth and there is a dirty napkin on it. It almost broke her arm to pick it up. However, the table was dirty and we told her so. She just stood there like deer stuck in the headlights. Never went to get someone to clean it or clean it herself. We just stood there. Until finally I said, would it be possible to get a clean table or do we need to go to another restaurant? She looked so confused and luckily the wall held her up with her blank stare saying absolutely nothing. We were then seated at a clean table but with a waitress who clearly wanted to be anywhere but there. The food took longer than expected and we sort of figured it would since we could overhear the wait staff getting yelled at by the cooks. When I got my change from $40 she have me a $10, $5, $1. We already waited forever to get a clean table, food, the check and change. Did she really think she earned a $5 tip on a $24 bill? We weren't about to wait more for change, so I left $1. In the past when I was there, I know I was very generous with the tip for the waiter. But he was excellent. If it wasn't for those past experiences, I would probably never come back. If I do come back and it was like tonight...never again. Also, the food wasn't that great either. I had the Elvis chicken and the chicken was tough. My husband's chicken enchiladas were mediocre. I ordered a large Margarita it showed up ~12oz in what I honestly thought was a kiddie cup minus a lid, was super bitter and seemingly no alcohol, a smaller size was 10oz!! I'm stunned at how poor the presentation and portions were. Our food sat in the kitchen so long before it came to the table the plated sauce had dried out on the edges, bottom of my taco was completely soggy the top like leather. Daughters quesadilla cheese in one lump inside on the end and some other odd not pleasant addition lumped on the other. Ran out of chips and water twice and it was a long time before the table was serviced. Rice and chips were very good. We studied the menu before we sat down so we ordered immediately when the server arrived and the evening still lasted nearly two hours between arrival and leaving I'd hate to think the time if we waited to study the menu after we sat down. We considered keeping our coats on. No lunch menu to choose from. Salsa was too salty and lacked flavor. When the food started to come out, 2 orders were wrong. 5 of us got our food and the other 2 waited another 25 minutes before theirs came. One of those was a taco salad. Seriously!! Had dinner here with the family on a Tuesday night around 7:30. It's a new location, so it was a little busy. This location was remodeled from a Macaroni Grill. The remodel included putting up a lot of separating partitions and walls, which in my opinion, made the place seem a bit more crowded, less of an open floor plan. Even though it was busy, food was cooked fairly fast and served hot. Everything seemed pretty fresh. Prices were good for the portion sizes. One of my daughters ordered the kids burrito, and the thing is adult sized. She could finish half of it, so she'll get another meal out of the leftovers. I ordered the fajitas and was fairly impressed. Great flavor, and they give you a mid sized molcajete with the toppings (lettuce, cheese, pico, guacamole, and sour cream). I was impressed with the amount of toppings. At some other Tex mex places, they don't give you nearly as much. I had extra toppings and meat left over to fill another tortilla, and I got 3 with the meal, so 4 would have been ideal. The service was the only thing I thought was lacking here. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't spectacular. Dress is very casual - t-shirt and jeans. The manager was walking around in baggy jeans and what looked like a cheap polo shirt. The dress I guess is appropriate for the atmosphere. Our server was nice enough, but didn't get a "friendly" vibe from her. She took our drink order and then our food order without really saying much. Something on my order was left out but in my bill. I just asked for them to pack it up to go because I was too full to be able to eat it at the end of the meal. They took it off my bill on their own without me complaining about it, which was very nice of them (I used to work in food service, so I very rarely complain about anything - those folks have a tough job). Personally, I think Chuy's is overrated. Everyone was raving about it when it first opened and now that I've been there several times, I wonder why so many people think it's great. Starts out with free chips and salsa, very good, nice thin chips with spicy salsa. We ordered burritos and they were huge. They have several different kinds of sauces and we couldn't decide, so they brought them all, and we finished them all as well. Overall a pleasant experience. Will go back again. read more

Went to Chuy's around 5:00 and sat in cocktail area. Our server was McLovin and he was excellent. Happy hour drinks and the taco car was fully stocked the whole time. McLovin was super knowledgable about the menu and addressed any other questions we had. Definitely a great place to stop for travelers. If we lived here we would also be there frequently. read more
