My mother and I were visiting Collierville for a day trip. I desperately wanted pasta, so I looked up various pasta/Italian places to eat. We decided to try Ciao Baby. I ordered the four cheese ravioli and my mother ordered the Greek salad. We also got two drinks. It rang up to be over $20. It was lunchtime when we went, so the price shocked me a bit. It was high, in my opinion, for what we received. I didn't get a salad with my ravioli or even a slice of bread. My mother's salad wasn't bad, but it wasn't a $10 salad either. The ravioli was tasty, but I really needed something else to go with it. After we ate our meals, both my mother and myself were still hungry. Fantastic! Delicious! Amazing! Wonderful! I could go on and on... after living in Italy the US version of Pizza just doesn't do it for me anymore. This tasted just like Italian Pizza. I am reading all these rave reviews and wondering is it us or did we just catch Ciao Baby in a really bad mood? We ordered two pizzas for pickup, and they were just awful! The outside crust was burnt and inedible, tasted like singed cardboard, while the bottom of the pizza was underdone. Also, way too much garlic for my taste. Sorry, it is what it is. Yech! As good as it gets !! I am an Italian immigrant from Naples Italy where this style of pizza was originated. This place is excellent, as close to the real deal as it gets. Takes me back to Naples every time I go there. Also love the fact that you can add your own toppings, this is not the case at most of all the other Neapolitan pizza places... I got pizza bianca with no oregano, goat chesse, Italian Salami and fresh tomatoes. Fugget about it !! Out of this world !! To the negative reviews,, sorry guys but from your comments I can see that you just don't know what Neapolitan Pizza is all about.... Neapolitan style is a style of Pizza all it's own, a unique balance of high quality ingredients a fresh light dough, cooked in a wood burning oven... So if you have never had Neapolitan style pizza and you go there expecting more of the same of what american style pizza is about then you will indeed be disappointed,, but if you go there with an open mind and savor the high quality ingredients you will be rewarded with a unique experience you won't soon forget.. The Greek Salad- Really enjoyable salad...usually I am ready to just get to the pizza, but I found myself actually enjoying and savoring this salad. Primo Pizza - AMAZING...I would have eaten the entire thing by myself, if I was not with other people. Next time, I am going by myself. Ciao Baby Dough Bites - amazing if you are a fan of light desserts. The dipping cream was not overly sweet and really complemented the lightness of the dough bites. Are you guys up for a new experience? I tried a new place in Collierville called Ciao Baby! I went on Friday so I didn't get the lunch special but they do offer it M-Th for $5.99. I don't mind because it was well worth the price. I was greeted as I walked in the door by the owner and she explained the whole process and how to order. I had never had Neopolitan Oven Fired Pizza before but let me tell you this........In all of my 42 years I have never experienced pizza that tastes like this!!! It is an experience with food unlike I have ever experienced food before. It has the absolute freshest ingredients and it cooks in 90 seconds. Top shelf. This is not the type of pizza you would expect to find in Collierville, TN. It's simple but so good. The pizzas are all make with fresh ingredients for great flavors but I wouldn't stop there. The wings are oven baked and crazy tender, the pasta is made fresh and my kids love the meatball. Had dinner with wife the other day, been to Caio Baby several times, food is if good quality. The pizza could be cooked a bit longer, the crust is crispy but the center of the pie is soggy and limp, making it hard to eat with out a fork. Caio Baby salad is very good, balsamic dressing is light and very tasty. My biggest issue is the food does not all come out at the same time, and you are punished for drinking water. Get a clue owner, people like water, but don't give me a 4oz cup to get water. Soda costs you about 5 cents, I get it, you love the mark up, but don't punish me for drinking water, because now you have annoyed me, and when I think about going back to Your place, I will think twice. I tried Ciao Baby for lunch today with high hopes but was very disappointed! I ordered the lunch special: 5 " pizza with salad. This is probably one of the worst pizzas I have ever eaten. The crust was literally tasteless and there was so little cheese on the pizza it was ridiculous. If they think they are saving money by skimping on ingredients, they will find that they are losing more money by not having customers return. So the pizza was mostly this tasteless crust with a very few dots of cheese, and some burned pieces of garlic. The dough had bubbled up in the oven and the bubbles were burned. How could someone go to all the trouble and expense of opening a pizza restaurant and not even recognize how bad this product is. It really mystifies me! read more

My family's experience at Ciao Baby was so-so. We were excited to try a new style/pizza place. The owner truly has a glimmer in his eye and a BIG voice. He's definitely excited about that shimmering wood-burning oven. We learned about the tomatoes grown off the vines at the base of Mount Vesuvius, and the fact that they are specially packaged. The pies are made from simple, pure ingredients. The cheese is a derivative of the golden calf the Israelites worshipped before Moses came down off the mountain. OOOPS. No. The pie was delicious, though. However, my girls just wanted a cheese and pepperoni pizza. It was small, devoured in recond time, and yes, it was pricey for the size. read more

Great pizza! Haven't found anything closer to what is served in Naples, Italy. My reason for the two stars is strictly due to ridiculous stance on tap water. If you want tap water you get a 4 oz plastic cup. No budging on this. So, my wife and I frequented the water pitcher 5 or so times but our tots needed lids. So, we paid $1.50 per styrofoam to go cup just to get them something to drink. Several other customers were annoyed by this while we were there. Give me a 12oz or so cup for water you can put a lid on without a charge for tap water and I'll rank you 5 stars. Until then, I won't plan on coming back. Such a shame. read more

I am full blooded Italian and I can tell you that Adrian at Ciao Baby has one of the best pizza places around. Neopolitan style is the way he makes them. The wood fire stove is the way my cousins in Barga Italy do it and so does Adrian at Ciao Baby. And if you want canoli for desert he does that too. You can't go wrong with his salads either.
