Dazzle dry manicure didn't even last 24 hours. They very graciously redid my nails the next day and they chipped not even 10 hours later. I was staying at a hotel so no dishwashing or anything crazy. They are either not certified in dazzle dry or something is wrong with their product because I've used dazzle dry for years and have never had this issue. Very disappointed that I'll now need to spend money to get my nails redone just two days later. read more

Right off the bat, Frances was so welcoming. This was a soft opening, but I saw reviews on Google, so I thought I'd give it a shot, as I was not happy with where I was going. This place is awesome! It's so clean and they really take care of you. First off. Full bar. Secondly, John (Gel X nails) and Ashley (pedi) were awesome! I felt welcome and valued (Frances will keep checking on you to make sure you're ok). The quality of service is top notch! Part of the reason I picked this spot was 1) I was in the neighborhood getting lunch with a friend 2) it had great reviews and 3) the salon had my name in it. I told Vicky tonight that I almost took my nails off this week because I'm trying to break the addiction but I just keep coming back! She chuckled, and when she was done with my nails she said "See you in 2 weeks?". I drive from Potrero Hill to this salon, when there's a nail salon a few blocks away from me. My coworker asked where I got my nails done and I found out my manager comes here as well. I came in for a polish change and a nice young man (a first for me!) did the most amazing job on my toes. He was so gentle and precise and the polish was done beautifully!!! The prices are also very reasonable when I feel like other salons are starting to get ridiculous (down the street $20 for a polish change?!) Prob worst nail experience I've had in a long time in sf. My nail place was too busy so ventured here. The lady did a great job on my nails but the girl doing my Pedi was so awful. Basically soaked my feet then painted my nailed . 2 second gentle scrub didn't do my cuticles really and the massage was so lackluster I didn't remeber having one ... she had to repaint my big toe three times then when I got home I realized my toes look terrible and I have my engagement shoot in 2 days. I walked in with no appointment and was treated like royalty! No negative preliminary comments or anything! The staff is quiet and very respectful. You are not held hostage and forced to listen to them as they do your nails and they ask no personal questions. Their primary concern is to make you happy and they will go the extra mile to accommodate you with your specific requests. I felt relaxed and cared for. Decent pricing for the Marina! The young man is very gentle and leaves my cuticles alone! No walking wounded here! I came in today to reshape my nails and get rid of Nail Today Salon's nail shaping which I did not ask for. Came here last Friday for a manicure. The prices are very reasonable. $12 for a manicure, $20 for a pedicure, and $30 for mani/pedi. They had 4 people working that day and usually have more on the weekends. The service was good and they took me within 5 minutes of walking in while another salon wanted me to wait 40 minutes. It's hit or miss here. Sometimes they do a good job, other times they don't. Also, some of the staff can be very rude, moody, and rough handed. Honestly, would never come back. First they charged me 4$ for choosing a color that is supposed to last longer. Never did they mention there was a difference in price for their colors. Terrible. Their nail polish is old and goes on stripey and uneven. They didn't care and were going to let me walk out with it like that and pay? It's really tough to find a nail place that refreshes their polish instead of adding a bunch of thinners and has an old shelf life. I had a really great experience at Ciao Bella! I asked for a fun design and the lovely lady that did my nails did an INCREDIBLE job. The price was right (definitely more affordable than a lot of SF places). The one call out for me is that it took a really long time, but I would rather the nail salon be thorough with my nails than speed through it and it looks terrible. read more

I'd like say that my 4 star rating is based on the fact that I'm pretty low maintenance about my nails. I'm sure you could find a more detailed manicure but I think mine looks great and it was only $8. There was a wait as the place was packed so I leisurely picked out my color and read through a magazine. Then I sat in a comfy chair and soaked my feet. Unfortunately the massage chair activates for an extra $2 so I didn't use it. Even though there was a running wait list I did not feel rushed and stayed in my chair til my feet dried. For $20, you get a mani and pedi and a five minute shoulder massage. They are fast, efficient and do a good job. *Try to go before 7 pm on weekdays or weekend afternoons and you won't have to wait. Pros: - Got in without a reservation. - Good selection of gel polish. - Reasonably priced ($65 for gel mani/pedi) - I'm used to paying $80. Cons: - Sloppy, inconsistent work. The paint on my nails is uneven. - Like others described, the bowls are unlined for pedicures and the instruments appear to be unsterile. - I was in that chair for 90 mins for a mani/pedi. 90 mins! - When the gel polish was inadvertently painted on my cuticles (which leads to premature peeling) it was CUT OFF instead of lightly filed. - A lot of unnecessary attitude - I asked for plastic sandwich bags for my feet since I was wearing tennis shoes and I was initially rebuffed. Hmm, That's really cheap. We got there on time / service on time but now it was $65 .. Weird. I got my nails done very fast I was done in 35-40 min ( no hand massage if u want a neck massage u can get one for extra money) same night my nails started to fall apart .. They greet you by name at the door and everything is very COVID safe! I had an extensive injury to my right foot that happened in June and finally got the approval to receive my first pedicure since. During a recent visit to San Francisco, I was looking for a nail salon that accepts walk ins and I discovered Ciao Bella. I asked for a new set of gel nails and was given a manicure with gel nail polish ! The salon was dirty, old ripped chairs. Also, there isn't the customary nail table set up, as in typical manicure tables . Very odd . They have you sit in a chair and do it in their lap on a pillow. Very awkward! The manicure was not quality and the cost was ridiculous. I paid 30.00 ! After only two days the polish is chipping ! This is the first bad review I have ever wrote on yelp , but this was a motivator to share my experience . I live in the north bay but visit SF regularly. Would not recommend. read more
