[[HIGHLIGHT]]I am always so pleased with my manicure at Nail Today.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have really been loving booking with Angela for dip - she's an expert![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She is so thorough, and pays close attention to detail. The salon is clean, and they just remodeled recently with new massage chairs and manicure stations. I also love that the appointment isn't two hours long. I'm always in and out within an hour. Definitely book with them, you won't regret it!

OK wow I do not like getting nails done, but just had DIP for the first time and needed to get it off and redone. Let me just say, everyone in this salon knows what they are doing. It is HARD to find a salon in SF that knows how to do DIP. Lily did a fantastic pedi and Angela did an incredible dip manicure. She meticulously shaped the nails and checked they were even. She took so much pride in her work and made it perfect. Never did I think I would write a review on a nail salon, but here I am. It is expensive but it's worth it.

Came here after my roommate recommended it! Overall, pretty happy with how they turned out, only thing is my nails are SUPER sore which is not a good sign...means they filed the shit out of them and are now prob thin and brittle underneath Kinda pricy, but she did shape them very nicely and we'll wait to see how they hold up!

I discovered that Nail Today was one of the first nail salons in the Marina to bring dipping powder to the area. I have never gone back to gel since! Lovely, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I am always so happy to the quality of each visit, & look forward to coming back. (My very shy fiancé also feels comfortable and enjoys his pedicures!) Huge selection of DIP and gel colors. This is my 2nd time going here. Rachel did my nails at the first one and I am going back here with her. She is very nice and get my nails done perfectly. This is one of the best nail salons I have been to that charges reasonably. Very clean, efficient, friendly, and always delivers what you requested for. Angela popped off with this GEL-Xtension set! It was perfect for vacation highly recommend her because she's had 25+ years of doing nails

One week out and they hold up. It's one of the few places in SF that knows how to do dip properly. Nails by Angel.

The first time we went here they were shaped really well by Angela, the second time she was in a rush and the shape was a little bubbly, so we made an appointment for earliest available -10:30am per their availability. There were 2 of us, both getting a dip manicure with Angela as well as a pedicure. She did not show up until 11, so they started on our pedicures and I agreed for Angel to do my nails and she did a great job. Angela did another girls nails, who arrived well after us, then my friend's, which was rude. She knew we had an appointment, and the staff told her my friend was next, but this client was clearly more important to Angela than we are. We were finished, but we waited for Angela to finish the walkins nails then my friends, so an extra hour just sitting and waiting. Not the best experience, but great job by Angel and the other ladies who picked up the slack. (For reference I tip 40-50% depending on how nice my nails look.)

Horrible. The pictures say 1000 words. I got my nails done at nail today and after 1.5 weeks I had to get two nails fixed. I went in and paid 12 dollars to get it fixed. Now, just less than a week later another finger broke and my thumb has hair line cracks. Im sure it will break in the next few days. Im not sure why this has happened. The nail ladies do not take ownership or give me a reason to why. Do not go here.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The people are very nice, but there are a few issues.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had a dip with nail tips. First, my nail tech was a bit rough with the manual and electric files, and I ended up with several painful cuts on various fingers. I appreciated her attention to detail, or so I assumed that si what she was doing. Unfortunately, after a very long time, I ended up with nails that are uneven and lumpy in places. Also, they are not the color I chose (light pink) but more white. I do like this color, but it is not the color I chose. The tech did work very hard, so I was hoping for flawless nails. The service ended up being 102$ with tip, which is terrible considering the product was not as good as it could have been. I won't go here again, because it is too expensive for what you get. I may add a second review after the nails have been on for a week or two. read more

After going to this salon for the past three years, I find that they no longer follow the cleanliness that they once did in the aftermath of the Covid guidelines. I left with a bad feeling during my weekend visit. Chairs and benches are no longer wiped down in between guests, and I suspect they are as lax on their sanitization practices with the tools. The manager, Angel, was stuffing her mouth with pistachios or chestnuts, and then touching peoples hands, nails, etc. No hand washing or gloves. It grossed me out. A woman walked in to get a fill and they quoted her $90, but the sign said $60. She had the wherewithal and common sense to balk at the manager for that price and left. The quality in service has gone down aside from cleanliness. I asked for square shaped nails but got round. I got a gel mani pedi; this most recent visit was among the worst where they filed down my nails so much that they hurt. They clearly speak in another language behind patrons' backs. It left me feeling incredibly insecure, especially when they laughed with each other and then looked directly at me. It's unprofessional and demonstrative of poor customer service. And what annoyed me the most is that I tipped the lady doing my pedi separately from Angel who did my mani, and it appeared as though Angel took a cut of the other lady's tip. That was not right. While I don't like leaving one star reviews, there are many other nail salons in and around Union Street that are more deserving of your business. read more

Nail today is the best. I was referred to Angela for dip manicure and will never go anywhere else. I like my nails looking natural and she spends a great deal of time making them look perfect. All other places make them look fake. ANGELA IS AN ANGEL and always treats me like a queen. Also their pedicures last for so long. read more

I'm not the typical plain yoga pants marina girl and I love the unique, creativity Nails Today offers. I have been coming here for years for my dipping powder and my always gorgeous long nails thanks to Angela. I am beyond happy that the business is back open so I can escape being locked in with my man at our house during the pandemic. Lol...but really though. It's seriously therapeutic and there's no better place for long nails, perfectly formed along with some bling of course. You're welcome for the tip! read more

Update. It's been 5 hours since I left the salon and my nails are already peeling. Horrible. I will not back back. I went to Nails Today and got a gel manicure and a regular polish pedicure. Both were absolutely terrible. My nails are bumpy and uneven. On both my thumb nails the paint is already curling up at the edges. I can't believe I paid for such poor service and now I have to pay to go somewhere else to get them fixed. read more

I've been coming here for SNS once a month for about two years. They have tons of colors to choose from and typically do a good job. They also have an ATM onsite in case you forget cash for tips. I've realized if you're not happy with how your manicure or pedicure is turning out, you have to speak up before they finish. I've noticed when the staff has customers back to back to back, they start to get fatigued and a bit lazy. read more

This has been my favorite nail salon in the city since I moved here in January!! After trying several salons in the city for dip powder, this was the only one that held up against being a full time nurse and washing my hands very frequently for more than two weeks! I usually go in the afternoon on weekdays and have never had an appointment, was able to walk right in Monday-Thursday. The staff are all very friendly, generally enjoy what they are doing and take to really understanding what it is you want. They also offer waxing and massages which are very fantastic! Great attention to detail and service! read more

I drive 45 minutes each way to get my nails done by Angela, even though one of the best salons is on my block. She does an immaculate dip mani and has singlehandedly transformed my cuticles from rough and embarrassing to beautiful and perfect. I'm NEVER leaving her. And I'm actually a little worried to put this review here because I don't want her to book up too much. But she deserves this love. (I get pedis there too - everyone has always done a good job for me.) read more

Went a few times unfortunately 1.) they always say they have time for you and then you will end up waiting for up to an hour to even get started on (even with an appointment) and 2.) last time I went the woman was so rough with my hands I was almost screaming! She pushed my nail beds back as far as she could with her fingernail until i started bleeding. My nails looked a million times worse and she cut up my skin so much my fingers were throbbing. I had to go someone else the following day to fix all her mistakes. 100% will never go here again. read more

I got a mani/ pedi from here today . It was great! For the manicure I got gel overlay with coffin shaped nails and black matte nail polish with nail art accent. For the pedicure I got just a regular one with the same color and nail art to match my hands. As I was getting my manicure they offered me a massage for my upper arms and shoulders and neck ( she ended up doing my back too) for ten minutes , I got it , I think it was ten fillers or so. It felt so good!.... So relaxing. Also they asked if I wanted a leg wax and I said sure. Overall I had three different women working on me and I didn't have to wait either.... This salon did a fabulous job! I called and they were able to fit me in for a mani/pedi within the hour. They did a great job! I added the shiny polish for an extra $5 (for both hands + toes), and I highly recommend it! It looks like a gel polish - for $40 this is a steal! Definitely will be going back! read more

Not great. I've had gel on for months and it was time for a break. This spot was recommended by a few women in the neighborhood. All they did was take off my gel and give me a manicure (no polish), and I was there for over an hour with the same woman. My nails weren't buffed correctly as you need to do after having gel on forever! $20 for that? Bullshit, going back to my favorites! When I sat down in the chair, I specifically told the person doing my nails that I had not gotten a pedicure in awhile (6 months actually) since the last time I got one, they cut the sides of my toenails and I got such bad ingrowns and my nails literally split from how bad they were. I had to grow them out for that long and had not touched them so my right toenail was a little uneven from the split. She said Ok and said she would be careful. She asked if she could cut just the top of the nail to make it even and square. I said yes, and then repeated that I did NOT want anything on the sides of my toes touched. Despite MULTIPLE times telling her that, she took it upon herself to "clean up" the sides of my big toenails by cutting them at a 45° angle.... the EXACT thing that the previous salon did that absolutely destroyed my nails. When I realized, I asked her, and she tried to defend herself while lying multiple times. She had the audacity to say 1. My nails were already like that, then changed her story to 2. That she was "cutting away" the excess nail polish she had put on away". And then again changed her story to 3. That she actually didn't cut them at all and didn't know what I was talking about. I then said, no you absolutely cut them, why would you cut the inside of the nail when I SPECIFICALLY said at least 2-3 times not to? She replied with, well they're already cut, I can't do anything now. AND THEN TRIED TO CUT THE SIDES AGAIN MORE SAYING SHE WAS TRYING TO FIX IT. I literally had to push her hand away and say "absolutely not, please stop touching my nail." When I walked in, I asked for 2 coats funny bunny, 1 coat bubble bath. Well, 7 coats later and her saying bubble bath wouldn't look very good. I had to accept that my nails were just not going to look acceptable at al. You can actually still see the brush strokes of the polish... AFTER 7 COATS!! It was absolutely absurd how they could not achieve a simple combination that is by far the most popular nail polish combo right now. After she said she was done, I paid, and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I was on the bridge of tears knowing how long it had taken me to recover from my previous nail fiasco and how long it was going to take to recover from this. I am getting married in August and honestly so sad that my nails might still be affected by this. When I got home, I burst into tears and couldn't believe the state of my nails. After more inspection, I realized she DIDN'T EVEN PAINT MY RIGHT PINKY TOE!!!! I am going to a wedding abroad on Wednesday, so as you can imagine, I was pissed. I had to file down some of my other nails because they were shaped so badly. My big toes don't even look the same shape. I walked back into the store before a dinner reservation and asked for a refund. She asked me to take off my shoes so she could inspect my toes. I told her what had happened and that my pinky toe wasn't even painted. She said she couldn't offer me a refund, just a gift certificate since the service was completed. I responded with... well not really cause my toe was not painted and she specifically did something I asked her not to do. I didn't even mention how bad the nail polish application was since I thought it was pretty fricken apparent and had an uber waiting. I ended up taking the gift certificate since I was in a hurry, and they said I could come back to get them redone and there would be a different person there to do them. I don't know why they would think I would EVER go back there again, but I will be filing a dispute with my CC company. So sad since I had been here multiple times before and live down the street. Would NOT recommend.

I chose a pale pink color to start but changed to a slightly more pink gel polish. The top coat was either clear, silver sparkle or gold sparkle & we agreed that silver sparkle would be subtle & pretty. They offer complementary beverages including hot tea, coffee, water or champagne where the QR code is next to the service chair. I had to pivot from my original design but she was really skilled and I honestly let her have full reign of the new design, but they turned out beautiful. She put a ton of detail into making sure my nails were perfect to the very last minute. FYI a gel manicure with design and gems/pearls (self provided) was $65 pre tip, which is more than they list on the site. They prefer cash but venmo is also accepted. Very peaceful vibe inside, with a restroom and water provided. They don't rush you at all which is nice :)

YAy, glad i found this cheap mani/pedi salon on my favorite district. . and best of all their pretty cheap compared to most other salons. It really depends who you get as your pedi/manicurist, I usually get the lady with the really long shiny black hair, she wear's glasses sometimes, really sweet lady, she does my toes to the t (perfection) Best thing is that their now doing these GET 8 mani/peds, and receive a free one. So far i got mines stamped twice, oh i got my card from my manicurist, but im sure you can just grab it near the front, its on the back of their business cards. Pretty good deal I would say, a free anything is always good. Definitely will come back again, to earn my free pampering. read more

Who doesn't want a free mani pedi. . .since i live near by, after recently having left new york city, i wanted to find myself a small chic nai salon. I usually tend to avoid those hip ultra expensive salons, since anyone painting my toes and nails is much better than me doing it myself. Nice atmosphere, good music, tons of magazines which keeps me occupied during my session, and for those germaphobic people out there, I noticed their equipment comes pre-sterilized in a little sealed pouch, and the tubs they use for my mani is always covered in some kind of disposable plastic lining. These girls are very nice and professional. I had the best mani pedi here last week and I love the fact that they sterilize everything they use on you. The pedi baths are covered with plastic which protects you from unwanted bacteria and fungus! Cleanliness is so important when it comes to mani/pedi and these guys are really good at it. I can always count on them for stunning nail designs, and the new leg steam treatment is truly next level. Mary's bright, engaging personality brings such a fun and welcoming energy to every visit. New favorite nail salon! I called that afternoon to see if they had any availability that day and…read morethey scheduled me for an hour later. They were ready for me when I came in. So many other places will take you and not have any nail techs available. The place was so cute, clean, and felt fancy. I loved the corner location and big windows so I could people watch Polk St. I get regular polish and my nails were finished and dry in 1 hour. Neighboring places will take an hour and a half and I really don't have that much time. They didn't rush and took their time, just no interruptions/ down time. They're also named after their adorable husky Co Be who laid at the door during my appointment.
