My boyfriend and I ate dinner here with some family and we were pleasantly surprised at how much we loved it. For about $20 we both had small calzones, his with two meats, mine with pepperoni and onion, one drink and water. The calzone is the best I've had in Mebane, and I've tried most of the places around. The calzones were pretty huge, lots of cheese and toppings. And the crust was almost perfect. I'm pretty picky about calzones, and I'll return here again. I'm curious to see just how big the large option is. I did try my nieces wings, those were great and meaty, and the ranch tasted homemade. I'm picky about ranch-no Hidden Valley for me. Good not great pizza. The prices are good. Our pizza the other night was very tasty but the crust was a little soggy. They do serve thin crust pizza which I like. Their antipasto is very generous and delicious and it is served with a home made Italian dressing which was delicious. When we go out for pizza when we are in Mebane we head to Ciao Pizza. I live nearby this Italian joint so I've been a few times. Nothing really spectacular here as its your typical Italian-American establishment with the same parade of pizza, pasta, and "house specialties" which are just other baked pastas and some chicken dishes. I liked their fried zucchini appetizer, but it was clearly previously frozen and not made in-house. The best thing about this place is that its close to the interstate, so I'd be more than happy to stop in here for a decent sandwich or pizza while traveling rather than a McDonalds/Bojangles drive-thru. Despite the name, I don't think this place is a chain and its worth a stop if you're travelling by Mebane and are hungry. Its not even close to authentic Italian food and some of the finer Italian restaurants in the Triangle, but the food is comfort food and is good enough if you're hungry. Also, for a nice bit of authenticity, one of managers was wearing a skin tight white t-shirt with a big gold chain and a surly grin. :) read more

After moving to Mebane this has become my go-to quick, Italian place. Both dine-in and take-out experiences have been good. Service for dine in has been consistently top notch. Everything tastes fresh and the tiramisu is awesome. Definitely worth a try! Great family friendly eatery with high chairs and patient waitstaff. read more

We chose this location as a half way meeting point with some out of town friends. Not being from the Mebane area we relied on previous reviews to help guide us. I feel like the food would get a solid 3 but the service this night was atrocious dropping my overall to a 2. Our waitress was forgetful and borderline line rude. No refills, our orders did not come out right, and she didn't ask if we want dessert just asked if we were ready to go. The salad had some very large hunks of hard cabbage in them. Props on the ranch dressing though. It was homemade and really really good. Tangy,creamy,herby just the way a good ranch should be. I had the Bella Donna. The pasta was good not too soft. The cream sauce was velvety. I did wish it had a bit more ham in it. Overall good. My husband had the manicotti. When we want really good, affordable pasta, this is our go to place, and we eat here several times a month. The staff is always friendly, the food is made to order, and the pasta is the reason to go. The atmosphere can get kind of loud, but that's not uncommon anywhere you go these days. I've tried this place several times and each time was worst than the last.the most recent order I ordered chicken parm, chicken Alfredo, mozzarella sticks and a piece of tiramisu. It came to over 50 dollars. Definitely not worth that much. The cake had started to melt because they had left it out. How hard would it have been to leave the cake refrigerated till the patron showed up vs putting it in bag near hot food. I say skip this place. This is my go to place for pasta. Their marinara sauce is simply the best. I drive from Burlington to Mebane just for their food despite the multiple Italian restaurants closer to my home. Fantastic pizza! The cheese pizza is the best I've had in the Hillsborough or Mebane area. Also, the white pizza is fantastic, and very fresh tasting. I'd give only three stars though, because the decor/feel of the restaurant is really old, and kind of confused. The color scheme is very distracting. Also, the appetizers are really disappointing. They give the impression from the other offerings that everything is made fresh in house, but the appetizers are clearly frozen. For pizza take out in the Mebane area, go to Ciao! We just are lunch there !! I grew up in Long Island , NY and have had excellent Italian food . This was excellent ! I had small calzone ( they had many options for fillings beside the cheeses that come inside ). It was no mini .. Decent size for $6.50 ! Done to perfection and sauce on side homemade too !! I would say that this is a hidden gem, but judging by the number of people who were there when we stopped in, I don't think it's very hidden. They were packed around 1pm on a Saturday. The waitress was extremely sweet and attentive, even though she was really busy. We had an order of breadsticks, with came with delicious marinara sauce that had big slices of fresh garlic in it. We also got a large cheese pizza. This was one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. My only suggestion would be to leave it in the oven for just a little longer, because I would have liked a slightly crispier crust. Pasta Primavera, pasta puttanesca, and pizza campagnola were outstanding! Very fresh vegetables on both pastas. The alfredo sauce needs to be more cheese, less olive oil. I'd love the option of a pesto. Lunch is a better value than supper. I've had chianti and cabernet, both of which were average vintages. I can't wait to try the pizza margherita, one of my fave pizzas! Ah, Naples! The service was on point, without being overbearing or sparse. Atmosphere isn't "chintzy" or especially attractive. Ok, this place was unexpected. It's 9pm, just left soccer practice, ravenous....want pizza, first place I stop by...closes at 9, curses!! Aha, look at that, your average everyday crappy walmart strip mall, yay....or not, but wait, what's this....a pizza spot, hooray!! Ok, as we approach said pizza place, we notice a lack of, well, anyone. Yep, big window front to the place and appears deserted, but lit. Now, I don't know about you, but I usually think if a place is empty, it's because the food sucks. Well, super hungry is overruling my spidey sense on this one so we sally forth. I will now get to the point. The pizza came, just your regular cheese pizza, and it was delicious! Super thin crust, crisp on the bottom but not tough, just the right amount of sauce and cheese....so yummy! I was surprised to say the least. Pizza is ok, nothing special. The wings were above average for around here. I will admit I am picky about wings because I am from Buffalo. We live in Hillsborough and have to make the trek to Durham to get really good pizza, a la Pizzeria Toro and Pompieri pizza. We were hoping to find a closer gem, and continued to explore parts west of Hillsborough. Thanks to Yelp we found this place. Great variety in the menu, like pasta, hoagies, calzone and stromboli, but we wanted to go for the real test, pizza. We started with a side salad. They advertise they make the Ranch and Italian dressing. The salad was good but the italian just tasted like oil and vinegar. I would try the Ranch next time. As for the pizza: Great variety of toppings. We made our own, feta, sausage and jalapeño, cooked extra crispy. The pizza had a great chewy and tasty crust, toppings were plenty and cooked just right. The sausage is sliced, just like you would get in NYC. Each table had their own parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes, nice touch. Service was very good and friendly. They even give you a fresh cold glass with each beer. The beer menu could have more variety (i.e. my favorite, an IPA) but having a Moretti is passable and probably more appropriate for the fare. The other import is Heineken. Also, you have to consider it's more of a family restaurant where the majority has tea or soda. We tend to be one of the the few alcohol drinkers when we are out in Mebane. More for us heathens! Prost! We would definitely go again. This is our new go to place in the area. read more

The food is great when they get it right. However, you better check your food before you leave and get a receipt. I gave it a two for poor customer service. If they get the order wrong it is your fault, especially if you realized it when you make it home. I asked to speak to the owner and was told he work Fridays only. They was willing to remake my order after telling me how to check my food next time before leaving. I hate that I received bad orders 4 times over a year span because the food is good and I was a lifetime customer. Now I am unsure if I will return. read more

My family and I tried this restaurant because we wanted to add another option to our dinner list. We had the homemade chips with ranch for an app. They were pretty tasty although they come with a tiny side of ranch. An additional cup is 40 cent although we didn't know that until our bill came. My husband had the calzone with sausage and pepperoni. It was so small compared to other restaurants and tasteless! One child ordered the pepperoni stromboli. It was a good size for a kid's menu item, but it was a tasteless glob of cheese!!! Our other child ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce was super watery and the meatballs looked and tasted frozen! I had the Margherita pizza. It had fresh basil, but again, was watery. How do you even make a thin crust pizza watery and soggy?!? Well, they managed to do it. Our waitress was too busy chatting with the other servers to get our drink refills. I had to get myself eater TWO times and my husband had an empty glass for the majority of his meal. She actually looked bothered to help another family that was seated. She didn't bring additional napkins until we were finished with our meal. We will NOT return to this place. We spent $40 on tasteless, soggy food. Nothing exciting or special about the menu and the decor is so dated. The ciao pizza is different every time we order but when they get it right it is quite good which is why I gave it three stars. The cheesecake is Sarah lee...really I ask them. Lol The tiramisu is lovely looking but tasteless.
