North Texas has always served as a frustration for Italian food lovers - until this place opened - and let me say outright that they do Italian food properly. Nothing is over seasoned Nothing is overly salted And they do not use any perceptible garlic powder - a real cheat - in favor of fresh garlic - and never in excess. The various pasta options are presented perfectly, cooked properly, and plated with care. The chef here is a master and runs his kitchen like a Michelin Apron is in view. Same with the exceptional service. Same with the bar. Same with the selection of wines and the recommended pairings. Run don't walk to get here and get here early. Valet parking awaits, impressive interior and decorations - and staff that are present and attentive but not overly so as most American places. First things first... the food is remarkable. This was our first time at Ciccio and we absolutely loved it. The pasta was fresh and piping hot. The flavors were all on point. The meatball app was marvelous and my lasagne was perfect. Really loved the food and we will definitely return based on that. The reason we are rating this a 3-star was based on the incredibly poor service we received from our server (I won't out her on Yelp, but her name started with a T). We waited for a long time for her to grace us with her presence to order our entrees. After our initial glasses of water and after waiting 20 minutes for a refill, I had to get up and find another server to bring us a pitcher of water. Mind you, we saw our server clearly standing around doing nothing. We relied on other servers to make our night enjoyable, despite our inattentive server. It took her 10 minutes to pick up our check after presenting it to us. Just awful service. This place has all the potential in the world, but if they have more servers like the one we had tonight, it's going to be challenging for them to survive. We will definitely return. We had an amazing dinner and the food was fantastic. To make this a five the focaccia bread would need to be more than room temperature/cold. I had the shrimp pasta and my wife enjoyed the salmon. The salmon was off the charts with a perfectly seared crust/bark. I would also say the calamari as an appetizer was above average. I had the gnocchi in a fontina sauce with spare ribs that melted in my mouth. Hubby chose the lobster ravioli and it was also exquisite. Walking in the door of the strip mall restaurant was like entering a 3D Pinterest board. We were seated immediately without a reservation. Our wait staff was attentive and friendly. The fresh lemonade was fresh and tasty. The Italian Margarita was surprisingly good with Amaretto. We started the meal with focaccia with ricotta and carpaccio. Both were good. The carpaccio's capers, horseradish, and pecorino were the perfect compliment to the beef loin and water cress. I had the lobster ravioli smothered in fresh grated parm. Husband had pollo al mattone. The chicken was tender, flavorful, and had the perfect crust. My daughter's gnocchi with braised short rib was the star of the table. The meat was perfectly braised with a red wine reduction. Desserts were creme brûlée and cheese cake that we were too full to finish. The vocalist performing for the Friday night crowd was a a nice complement for the evening. Did not have a plan for a Friday night dinner so Yelped this place and was pleasantly delighted. The Ciccio was apparently opened a late 2022 by the owners of Mio Nonno, another favorite of mine. The place was bustling when we arrived. Honestly, it was a bit loud for my taste. The bar had open seating and opted for that instead of waiting. After picking a wine, a decent wine selection btw, started off with the Focaccia and the Polenta, which is a must have. The creamy sauce with mushrooms & roasted garlic was AWESOME .. one of the best I have had lately. I had to hold off the wait staff as I cleaned the sauce off the plate with the Focaccia ... We were eyeing the Ravioli, but opted to get go slow with the Rucola ... This was another beauty ... Some may consider the Arugula an acquired taste, but with the julianed apples, pine nuts and the honey balsamic .. this was curated perfectly. By this time, we were getting full so opted for another appetizer instead of an entree. Vito suggested having the Gnocchi Frittos .. Was an odd dish, I thought, but loved the fresh mozzarella and the warm fried dough. The Prosciutto could be eased off a bit, to make it easy to eat. Finally, we split the Crème Brûlée ... It was nice to cap off a nice meal. The sugar of the dessert was brûléed just thin enough so that we could have it with every bite. All in all, it was a great way to spend Friday evening at this place. Was nice to see the owners cooking in the kitchen. Writing an updated review. Had a reservation and still had to wait 40 minutes. There is not much of a waiting area and it was packed, so I waited outside in 30 degree weather. I had seen some recent reviews about having to wait, so this wasn't a one time thing it sounds like. Drinks were really good. Service was pretty good. I got the gnocco frito I've gotten multiple times but it was not mozzarella like it's alway been. It was burrata. It was OK where in the past it was outstanding. I got the chicken parm and it was OK. It was soggy and I prefer a crispy chicken parm. Tried the short rib and it was also Ok. I did really like the gnocchi that came with the short rib. It seems like the food has taken a step back. I ate at their other restaurant (which I love) a week before this and we commented how it was not close to as good as it use to be. Came around 5pm on a Monday night, just a few days after their opening & it quickly filled up. From the outside, it looks small but the interior is actually quite spacious. They are also in the process of setting up outdoor patio dining which will be nice with the upcoming fall season. Here's what we ordered: - rucola salad: nice presentation & refreshing, goat cheese balls were just right - crunchy exterior & creamy cheesy interior - branzino: fillet was a little overdone but the skin was nice & crispy & so were the potatoes - tagliatelle: pasta is hand made so it had that nice chewy texture, the bone marrow was about the size of a small child's forearm & had the right amount of marrow Sharing both dishes was a good idea, for variety & balancing out the lightness of the fish dish along with the richer bone marrow & pasta dish. They make all of their pasta in house. I was really impressed with the quality. Service was very attentive and friendly. To be honest I think they are trying to hard with the valet parking. I get the restaurant wants to be boujee roll out the red carpet but it's located in a shopping strip. I am FURIOUS and so worried for anyone with food allergies who eats here. As background, we absolutely love this restaurant, and have been many times. I have raved about it and recommended it to all our friends and family. After eating here many times, we took the risk to take our son who has very severe/dangerous food allergies. Before dining there we called the restaurant, spoke with the owner (the wife I was told), abs asked about the menu and ANY nuts in the kitchen. She advised that the ONLY nuts they use are pine nuts and then in the desserts, there is hazelnut. We took the risk, and took our sweet child to eat there. We intentionally arrived when it was still relatively slow. We spoke with the hostess, the manager, the kitchen staff, etc. about our sons DEADLY food allergy. They worked with us and confirmed that NONE of the food we ordered had nuts. Our son ordered the octopus as an appetizer and thanks be to GOD he did not die!!!! Apparently there is ZERO communication and education between the owners, the waiters, and the kitchen. I found out today by accident really that the sauce they use with the octopus appetizer is made with hazelnuts. I was shocked and terrified to think this could have been a deadly situation. SHAME SHAME on this team and their gross negligence. It is unforgivable to put your clients lives--and especially that of a child due to your inexcusable ignorance. read more

I loved this restaurant! I went with my family on Saturday for the first time, we had heard that it was good and we decided to try it. All the food was delicious, the duck with lentils that I ordered was very tasty. Cecilia was our waitress and she took very good care of us and made several interesting suggestions from the menu. We spent a very nice family time at Ciccio having dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. You must try the meatballs for appetizer! Desserts are also yummy here, the cream brûlée was perfect! I loved this place. The food was delicious. We started with the carpaccio which was great. Of course we got a bottle of wine which I enjoyed but it was annoying when we were sitting outside to know that they didn't have anything to cover the wine glasses to keep the gnats out. Knowing that most people are going to drink wine with their Italian food I would think you would invest in that. Entrees were all delicious. I do wish the waiter who was serving the table next to ours would have been quicker about cleaning up their table because their shells from their Seafood were attracting so many flies that it became even more annoying to shoo them away from our food along with the gnats trying to get in our wine. The next day my husband turned our leftovers into an amazing hash for breakfast. He wasn't as impressed with the food taste overall (but he is a chef), my daughter siad it was "okay" and my husband didn't understand why the waiter asked our 14 yo daughter (who does NOT look 21) if she wanted an alcoholic beverage, so not sure we will be back anytime soon. read more

This place has been on my list for awhile. This place is super posh and glam inside. For a smaller restaurant the space is used very well. Service walking in was okay; the hostess weren't the most welcoming but they also seemed busy. We made reservations but still had to wait on a table; however it was 6:30pm. When sat the hostess abruptly put the glass cups on the table; not sure if that was intentional but it did catch me by surprise. The menu has a decent selection; love that it's one page. Lighting of where we were sitting was really dim; so for pictures that was not my jam but overall it's not a super dark restaurant so that's a plus in my book. Our waitress was a super sweet and polite young lady; she took care of us well and gave good recommendations for entrees. So normally if I were solo I would've ordered the Carpaccio and the Octopus as appetizers but I was with my husband so I had to compromise with the meatballs and the crostinis (haha). So I will be back just to try those. Everything was beautifully presented, and had great portion sizes; especially the appetizers and salads. The price point is expected for higher end Italian places but I feel some are a little too high. So on to the food... the meat balls.... Ehh... 6.5/10 for me. The sauce was great, the meatballs were cooked perfectly but the meatball itself without the sauce didn't have enough flavor to wow me. My husband also agreed. The Arrosticini 6/10.... The wagyu skewers were also cooked perfectly but no flavor. But to explain this dish it was like a deconstructed crostini board; came with bread, sauce, salt and the skewers.... I understand Arrosticini are in fact skewers.... But I was kinda like hmmm even if I have to assemble this why am I having to season it? Just the skewers and the salt were good solo.... Didn't really need all the decorations.... But again my opinion. The salad.... 7/10....was really tasty; love how the apples were julienned; only personal gripe was I could've used more balsamic drizzled on the plate. My husband ordered the Rigatoni.... 8/10; it was quite good... not very spicy. I ordered the Tagliatelle.... 8/10; it was really tasty and I liked the bone marrow addition. The pasta itself was not cooked to perfection (they were sticking to each other and breaking apart way too easily) but the flavors were all there. It wasn't bad it's just I've had better. I will probably give this place another go because I want to try the octopus and the carpaccio.... But just rating the place for my dinner experience (taste wise) I feel the 4 stars are fairly generous. The food was pretty and good; but nothing truly knocked my socks off to where I was like, "omg I need to come back."
