A huge plus is you don't have to pay for parking. They have a parking lot but if it's packed you can find a spot on the street to park. Not ideal for large parties, I'd suggest no more than six (6) guests and book your reservation well in advance. It's a small quaint place and the food is very good. It's tapas style. Small plates meant to be shared. This way you can to try a variety of food when each person orders maybe 2 plates or more depending on your appetite. Don't go too wild with ordering too much though as some might find their food palette overwhelmed by the varieties and textures. Self-awareness is key! They have a nice selection of dinner entrees, well seasoned and vegan/vegetarian options. The menu changes every few weeks. My favorite were the lamb ribs! Better get them while they last since the menu changes. If you like spicy (hot) noodles the Rad Noodles might be your jam (shrimp, coconut red curry, thai basil). It was too spicy for me but i'm a baby when it comes to spice. I also thought the noodles were too cumbersome...They were cool looking just a little weird on trying to figure out logistics of getting them in your mouth. Slurp them? Cut them? Twirl? Our service was superb! Our waiter Doug was knowledgeable and he was hospitable in offering the best possible dining experience. In between meals he offered us Oshibori which are Japanese warm towelettes used to clean or refresh your hands. This really enhanced my experience and added to the warm welcome setting. Desserts are delicious but depending on what you get you might find it small and not worth the money. I think this will vary depending on what you get or just you as a person. I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie baked in a clay dish and served with a dollop of ice cream. It was reminiscent of a brownie almost and was cooked with brown sugar butter crumbs..it was really an elevated way of presenting and indulging in a common fan favorite. Drinks are good quality and reasonably priced. Drinks can be strong but you get what you pay for! Nice selection of beers. If there's a wine you'd like to try before purchasing they allow you to sample.

Service was good for the most part and the food was ok. The main reason for the low rating is because as we were eating a mouse runs out from the kitchen and we brought it to the attention of the staff who took about 10 minutes to catch the mouse. Now no one from the staff apologized for the rodent issue so I'm assuming that this is a common occurrence. None of the staff seemed bothered by the situation to let their manager know and no one offered us a discount due to that scene that just transpired in front of us. So my sister and her family who live here in Philly as well as my wife and I will not be eating here again.

My girlfriend had to ask again for utensils after plates hit the table and only then did we get them. Appetizers were already cold by the time we got them. I ordered the mushroom pappardelle, it came out as a soup. Literally under seasoned noodles drenched in this thin viscous soup. Had this film on the top of it that looked like it had congealed. It tasted awful. My girlfriend got the shrimp scampi. Same problem, VERY soupy. We sent our dishes back two bites in. Aperol spritz I ordered was the sugariest drink I ever had. Place is a triple threat: bad drinks, bad food, bad service. Hey at least the interior design is nice.

a very belated birthday-dinner review, since I'm an established slacker. But this is also fitting…read moresince whether its been driving by it back in the day, or through gazing up at it on the hill when I was in Manayunk, La Collina is one of those places that has been in my peripheral vision for a few decades now! For 20+ years, I've known La Collina to be that fancy and classic-looking Italian restaurant on the hill that I've been needing to try. But it took coming across its name when doing my research for possible spots to go to for my birthday to put one and two together, and it led to quite the majestic experience. The friendly and hilarious valet attendants ensured that service was incredible before we even entered the building. And upon entry, we were treated to spot-on recommendations and quality service throughout the evening. For cocktails, I was in awe of the Anejo Old Fashioned, which used Patron and agave syrup instead of the usual whiskey offering, and I also appreciated the classic Negroni. For appetizers, the classic meatballs with homemade marinara and ricotta were an absolute delight, and the eggplant rolatini with spinach, prosciutto, and mozzarella was sheer perfection at its most decadent. For my entrée, I initially expected that I would be eating all the pasta. But the restaurant is also known for its seafood, and the risotto frutti di mare especially caught my eye. and with its calamari, clams, mussels, and shrimp, and perfectly cooked and seasoned rice it absolutely delivered the flavors! Toss in a salted caramel chocolate soufflé with a candle on top, and it easily made for another memorable birthday dinner and a deserving place to recommend!

Very disappointed in La Collina…read more We ALWAYS wanted to go here because we love italian and it looked awesome on the hill overlooking Manayunk. We booked reservations for our wedding anniversary here. I specifically asked for a window overlook view seat. This was not granted and we were placed in the back room by the bar. Service was poor. We spent 2 and a half hours at this restaurant mostly waiting for the food to come out and the server to bring us our check. I don't believe the server came back for drink refills until after we were done with out meals. The serving sizes like stated in other reviews are very poor for the price you pay. For 2 to eat here you are pushing 100 easily. I got the chicken parm and pretty sure there was a out 12-15 noodles with it. My wife did enjoy her seafood pasta with scallops, but the price outweighed the amount for sure. Overall I had high expectations for this place and it let us down big time. Hopefully they continue to improve so we can give it another chance.
