I go to this place all the time! I always get the soft chicken tacos with pollo asado (grilled chicken). They are the BEST! They are different from the shredded chicken tacos so make sure to specify "pollo asado". They are not too small at all. They are just regular sized. I LOVE the rice they serve there. The salsa is my favorite! They always give you chips and salsa. The guacamole is delicious as well. My only problem is I have about 2-3 waitresses I really like and I have been getting stuck with these lousy ones the last few times I have been going. So depending on who you get, the service is good. The bad waitresses never remember to bring you more water among other things. Just don't let the service discourage you. It's a hit or miss. Either way I keep coming back! They have a tv playing all the time. They also have a juke box which can get really really loud. Sometimes it goes off every few minutes and sometimes it is on all the time. But other than that, it's still one of my favorite taco places in Riverside. read more

Food was good and reasonably priced I ordered the carna asada burrito, was medium size just enough tge meat well flavored and beans and rice with a good flavor. I went on a Friday night Mexican Karaoke night, if you are not fond of Mexican music then don't go on a Friday night. My family comes here often on Sundays. They are busy but their staff is always helpful and accommodating. The tables and chairs are pretty basic, but they have fantastic live music which can be loud depending on where you sit. Every dish we have had there is good and keeps us coming back. read more

Terrible service. The food is good, but the wait is way too long despite half an empty restaurant.

I lived seven years down the street from this restaurant and never had the inclination to try it. My husband had tried it once before and was not pleased so I was reluctant to take a chance...but he tried it again and did not disappoint. He raved about the handmade tortillas and the ceviche, so I decided to judge for myself. The restaurant is a five minute walking distance from my home and as I entered Cielito Lindo I was taken back to the eighties with their outdated decor not to mention mismatched tables/seating, overwhelming clutter and their half finished or badly made repairs. Nonetheless, I was still gonna try their ceviche and tacos. We continue to seat ourselves and within seconds are brought chips/salsa and a menu, we order our drinks and order our food as we receive our drinks. (we don't waste time). About twenty minutes later (I don't mind waiting as long as the food is made fresh) we receive our carne asada tacos and our ceviches. So the complaint I usually have about tacos is that most restaurant use really greasy meat ( yes I know, thats why they're so cheap, but I would prefer to pay twice as much to get some quality meat) and the complaint remains the same, the portion of meat was decent though, the flavor not so. The tortilla was handmade and tasty and the salsa was pretty darn good! Now the ceviche had the usual fixings and topped with avocado, mmmm how I love avocado, but they also add a lemon pepper seasoning. The tostadas that they serve with the ceviche are so thin, light, crispy and just plain good. Thumbs up! And for $5 bucks you get a nice sized portion. read more

This has been a favorite of our family for years now. We eat here once a week and it is always worth the 11 mile drive to get there. Have not had a bad dish yet. My wife is a fan of the tostadas and I love the steak picado. Plenty of chips and salsa to start you off and it has a good kick. We eat for under 20 bucks with a tip. For authentic Mexican food at a great value, give them a try. You won't be disappointed. Five stars for them minus the Mariachi Band the performs there on weekends. The absolute best hole in the wall AUTHENTIC Mexican food around...their salsas are insanely amazing, their food is so flavorful and fresh and you CANNOT beat the price. Love this place so much that we go once a week. Sunday's they have live music and it's a bit loud if you're hungover lol...or if you want a more quiet spot.
