We attended a wedding ceremony & reception at Pearl recently. We had a great time at the reception and it was special to witness the ceremony. Pearl is located on Glenoaks Blvd in Sun Valley. It's in a random strip mall next to Daniel's Tacos and other businesses. The ceremony was held in a smaller room to the left of the main banquet hall. There weren't enough chairs for all the guests and some arrived later, so there was a good contingent of folks that had to stand at the back of this big room. I also thought the chairs were just way too close to each other leaving everyone having to sit elbow to elbow, if not staggered like we had to in our row. Not the most comfortable way to sit, especially next to people you may not know prior to the event. I think for the particular ceremony we went to, a little less chairs in each row and spaced out a tiny bit but adding more rows instead would have been a better way IMO. The banquet hall is nice and spacious. Some similar elements to other banquet halls in Glendale and Burbank. It was spacious enough for a dancefloor, many tables that sat 12 people each and space for a photo booth & a DJ. There was a lot room and that was great. One thing we couldnt get over was how cold it was inside the hall. To the point where everyone kept their jackets on, the men & women. Haha... I guess there are worse issues to have. That being said, heading to the dance floor was the right move cause you will freeze otherwise. Food was good. Similar to but way more choices & offerings than other Armenian/Mediterranean/Persian-type banquet halls. There were way more mezzes and choices of grilled meats. The mezzes were dolmas/sarma, 5 types of salad from crab to grilled vegetables, hummus, tzatziki & bread. The grilled meats were beef and chicken barg (chunks of meat) as well as beef and chicken koobideh (ground meat). All the food was good and everyone at our table seemed more than satisfied. Basmati rice and lavash bread was of course served with the charbroiled meats. The staff was friendly, efficient and kept our table cleared of finished plates & serving platters, as well as filling our water pitchers quite regularly. That was very much appreciated. From day one he was extremely helpful, comforting,patient and helpful when it Came to the preparation of my daughters Quinceañera. Let's start with how beautiful the banquet hall is. The colors and decor went perfectly with her winter wonderland theme. The lighting changed with the music and mood of the night. But most importantly, at least for my foodie self and hubby, the food was delicious!!! Authentic middle eastern cuisine elegantly fine and traditionally made. From the cold appetizers to the hot appetizers everything was delicious. And the bbq was exquisite. Soft filet mignon beef, tasty chicken, flavorful Chicken and beef Lule, tender pork! I sincerely don't. The prices are good, the food is ok, the owner seems really nice. But. I did my husbands bday here and by 11:30pm the workers were cleaning up the plates and food off the table ASAP like they had somewhere to go that evening. We had casino tables all around, so the moment ppl would leave there seats to go play some games, they would return to their table no longer there. I mean it was embarrassing. Imagine, there are four ppl sitting at a table and these workers are cleaning up like maniacs. Like get the f out of here basically. I even straight asked them like wtf are u doing? U don't seee these ppl sitting down? Before midnight they turned on the lights, the owner was in the middle of the floor while the crew worked hard to clean everything up. It was so bizarre. Anyways never experienced this in my life, and I will never host anything here ever again nor recommend it or attend to an event that would be hosted here. read more

I just held my daughter's Sweet 16 party at this hall last Saturday and my guests are still talking about how good their food and service was. I have to admit I was a bit nervous in the beginning of how the service and food will be as I had never been here before but I was truly impressed! The food was amazing all the workers were very professional and pleasant, the place is stunning, the kitchen is spotless as that was very important for me. But most of all the undivided professional attention that we received from the manager Ernie with his patience with our repetitive questions, assisting with the seating chart preparation, watching over our party the entire time, checking in with my husband and I constantly to assure we were happy with everything and if we needed anything, obtained permission before started serving the food as I had several guests missing. I accidentally broke a cup while cutting the cake and was amazed how fast the employees and Ernie ran to clean up the glass and to make sure I was okay. I am extremely pleased with the top quality food and service this hall delivers and this will be my only to go to hall for all my events. I did a lot of shopping around before I found this hall and for the rate they charge for the top quality service they deliver it is honestly a steal. I'm very sad to write this review. The hall is beautiful and the service was excellent. Being Armenian at the end of every event we always ask for eggs with tomato ( Armenian tradition) being 6 months pregnant I was waiting for this the entire night. We asked the waiter and he told us it's $300 for a plate of eggs! We asked to speak to a owner or manager and in a very rude manner he tells me yes I charge $400 for eggs no one is asking you to eat it. Excuse me???? What are the eggs made of gold? read more

I co-chaired an 8th grade dinner dance for a local private school and we selected Pearl Banquet for the event. Ernie and his team did such an amazing job in all aspects. He helped me think about the layout, menu and then was so attentive throughout the event. Our guests had the best time. I loved when someone said that they've driven by the location thousands of times and had no idea it was so magical inside (the dance floor is an attention getter). I had my wedding here on August 29, 2015 and figured I should review it for other brides looking for a venue. It was so hard picking this hall since it was so new and I could not find any reviews on it so I hope this helps anyone else looking. If you are looking for a modern hall, this is it. I fell in love as soon as I walked in, with a beautiful glass dance floor and chandeliers in the shapes of hearts...I knew this is where I would celebrate my special day. One of my biggest fears was that the food would be bad since I could not find any reviews on the place, I had no idea what I was getting. Armenians are big on food, and if your banquet hall serves bad food, it will haunt you forever...I am definitely guilty of going to weddings and complaining about the food for the next month (LOL) Thankfully the food was AMAZING!!! It was a perfect evening overall and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a venue. The staff is very friendly, although I wish there had been someone there that spoke English the night of my event, but otherwise they were very accommodating and wonderful! IT IS STUNNING! This last weekend I had my daughter Quincenera At the Pearl Banquet Hall. We had invited 150 guest, We had such a great experience , all of guest were happy, All of our guest were telling us how great the food was and how the staff was very professional and very attentive. The manager Erni was always there to help out. I had acutely forgot to add a name on the guest list and when the guest arrived Erni walked up to them and apologized, because they could not find their name on the Television Monitor and told them he had made the mistake by not including them, He did not have to take the fault. Over all if I could I would give them 10 Stars I would. Me and my guest had the best experience here. I defiantly recommend to have your next Quincenera here, I have been to the Pearl two times once for a wedding and once for a baptism. Both times the place has looked great, The food was excellent and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure all the guest are enjoying them self and having a good time. I have been to many banquet halls and this one to me stands out. There dance floor is made of glass and they have a very high end light system that elevates your party to another level. I picked Pearl for my son's baptism reception as I loved its fun dance floor, modern decor, and vast menu. The food here is amazing! I loved that it offered Armenian, Lebanese, and Persian food and offered a selection of different appetizers and main courses to best fit my guests. The gentlemen at Pearl, Ernest and Stepan, made the planning painless and were so accommodating and patient with us as we were deciding on our custom menu. The staff was extremely nice the night of my event and took good care of my guests. I would definitely hold another event here and would use them to cater, as well. Disaster, I was a guest of my firends wedding party at this location, an auto accident caused power outage, and the hall didn't have any generator in case of emergencies, so the wedding continued in darkness and no AC and of course no music , if you want your special day to be ruined go for it, or at least make sure they have enough facility just in case shit happens read more

Great new place in Sun Valley. We just celebrated my nephew's 1 year bday and baptism here. I have been to every single banqueet hall in Glendale and Burbank for different occasion and i can honestly tell you that the food here was awesome, i really cant emphasize enough how great the food was. Service was great and waiters and waitresses were on point. Upon arrival, as soon as i sat on my sit waiter approached me to see what drink i wanted to drink and if i needed anything. I felt very welcomed. Peoplemight say the area is bad but let me assure you that it is not true. Ive lived in this area for over 7 years and its ok plus they have an armed security guard. Valet parking (unlike other banqueet halls) was great and they drove cars nicely and took care of them. Ive had bad experiences in different places. The prices are also great. Once again i wanted to say how great the food and service was :) We had a party of 90 people and the venue was big enough with a large room to dance. I really liked their dance floor. read more

Worse banquet hall. There's no parking and everything is disorganized. The food was disappointing and everything is so dirty. The appetizers looked like it came from the expired food section of a grocery store. Come on. You can afford to go to Costco to buy a tray of cheese, deli meats, and crackers that doesn't look and taste expired. The pastries came out a little after the cheese and meat plates and they were awful. I could have gone to 85 degrees for better pastries. The main course came out and the chicken was so dry that I had to drink water while chewing it so I can swallow it. My cousin introduced me to Pearl Banquet Hall for the baptism of our children in LA. I live in Holland and I organized everything for the baptism from there. The first time I called Mr. Andranik he replied so nice and warm that I felt very welcome. Every time I had a question I just called him and he helped me. When we got to LA I went to the hall and even then everything went perfect. This Hall gets one star because it's clean and very decent inside but that's about it, when u get there order pizza or eat something, right next to it is Carl's Jr. so you won't starve. First from appetizers only thing u can eat and not want to throw up is crab salad and yogurt cucumber and perachki other then that do your self a favor don't try anything else, meat forget about it, chicken has nasty taste and beef was not good quality meat had veins inside which was stretching like rubber band I been to this venue a year ago this was the second time I can't keep going to this place without giving bad review next time I will refuse to go. Super nice management up until the day of our event, then they completely changed and became incredibly rude and claim that we told them nothing regarding our event such as vendors and our guest count. I did not even get to see the hall. I called to make an appointment for Thursday at 6pm. I arrived at 6pm and the door was locked so I called and a man picked up and told me to wait 25-30 minutes. I asked him if my appointment was at 6pm and he said yes, I'll be there at 6:30pm. I wouldn't have minded him being late, if he had called to let me know ahead of time.
