I haven't been to Cielo in quite some time and have I been missing out! What a little gem ! I enjoyed the fried fish tacos so much I went back two days later for the same meal. The CocoLoco drink was strong and delicious. Our server (Jed) was fabulous as was our first waiter on Thursday night. I wish I took a picture of our meals- hopefully next time. If you want authentic Mexican food in a clean and convenient place, Cielo is the place for you. read more

A fun time at a fun place. Bruce our waiter was fantastic. The portions were large. The food was okay. Enjoyed the fresh made right at the table goucomole. Two of us had the California buritto. Met 4 friends for lunch on a Saturday recently. Loved the decor, loved the service, loved the food! We were seated immediately but could not believe how busy it was for a Saturday lunch. Guacamole was made to order tableside. It was very impressive and delicious. We will all definitely go back again. Edit: I have been back there a few times since my initial visit. It has exceeded expectations every time. Well worth the trip. Especially the sangrita. I'm not sure if this is what they call it but it is a sangria poured on top of a margarita. Was pretty excited about going here as we had heard good things about the food. We were sat down pretty quickly but we were sat near the bar and the door to the outside dinning so I was bumped into a dozen+ times by waiters & other guests. The chips and salsa were good as there was 4 varieties to choose from but they gave you very little of each and we were not told of the spice levels until we after we started sampling them. I ordered the fish tacos which were "fishy" tasting and the serving size was small. The rice and refried beans were cold but the plate was very hot a sure sign of microwaving. My wife had the chimichangas and they were tasty but again the serving size small for the price of the dish. Can't say I'd recommend this place based on our visit. There was a huge hair in the food I had delivered. It was in the middle of one of their chimichangas so clearly from the restaurant during prep. I reached out to Grubhub, the platform I ordered the food through. In order to get a refund they have to speak with a manger from the restaurant. They tried to contact the restaurant for 2 days to speak with a manager without success as the restaurant staff kept telling Grubhub no manager was there. How does a restaurant operate for multiple days with no manager? The answer is they don't. They clearly were lying to avoid dealing with the issue. Not cool. This place lost a good customer by choosing not to follow up or resolve this issue at all. Professionalism & customer service is important in the restaurant industry. Finding a hair in my food makes me question their cleanliness and professionalism and the way the handled this makes their lack of customer service quite clear. Very disappointing. read more

The food is absolutely outstanding. The restaurant is beautifully designed and has a really nice modern feel to it. I am enjoying a lunch date with my wife, but I think the next time I come here will be to get drinks in the afternoon with a friend. I'm impressed with the service as well. I think this is about to be my new favorite local place! My only recommendation is to expand the app menu. Throw some "small plates" in and I could sit here all night and knock back margaritas. Great menu with many selections. The food was very good and the service was exceptional. The complimentary salsa was not visually appealing, with minimalist portions of four types. We were looking for a place to eat that wasn't at the mall. Finding good places to eat when you are visiting places is hard. My husband and I were happily surprised to find Cielo Mexican on Yelp! It was very easy to get to from our hotel. When we arrived we walked in and were seated immediately. A wait staff member brought us chips and a tray of four salsas but didn't quite explain. We are always willing to try new food so we dug right in. Our waitress came over to greet us, take our drink order and explained the salsa tray. I ordered the enchilada tampiquenos with steak. My husband ordered the chorizo pollo and a poblano taco. The poblano taco was not written on the menu as a side or single item but the waitress was happy to accommodate his request. We absolutely love Cielo. They are local and walking distance from our house. We have young boys and they always welcome them. Their Sangria is amazing, and all of the meals we have had their have been authentic and delicious. My ONLY suggestion would be that if there is a way to let the plates cool a bit before serving them that would be amazing, but it would NEVER stop me from going. Very yummy!! Chicken and carnitas tacos were amazing!! Spicy salsa was definitely a hit, rice is moist and flavorful. Waitstaff super friendly and sweet. Make sure you save room for dessert...CHURROS. So crispy and fluffy and warm and amazing drizzled in caramel sauce, paired with black raspberry ice cream and berries. Red sangria was delicious and strong as well. Definitely will be back, my only complaint is how small the restaurant is, went on a Sunday around 4 pm and did not have to wait, but I can see why you have to on a busy Friday or Saturday night. read more

Having moved here from Tucson, Arizona after seeing the lack of Mexican restaurants around Boston/greater-Boston, I initially kept my distance from this restaurant thinking -- "No way it's going to be tasty we're in New England." Fortunately I was wrong and pleasantly surprised. We live literally a 4 minute drive from Cielo, so for this to be our local Mexican restaurant we've fared out well. A few things to note: - There is lots of parking in the back of the restaurant just in case you don't see it from the street! - The portions are big! - The inside is far cozier than the exterior lends. - The service is prompt! - The food is good -- definitely a prominent chipotle flavor to the dishes I tried (mind you I came with my family so I tried a few). All in all, not the best I've had but definitely a good meal and not only for the price! :) read more

I had no idea how lively this place was going to be & it was loads of fun. On a Monday no less, they were super busy & had a line. They have musicians walking around singing which was incredible. This place is tiny for being out in the suburbs which was also surprising (not in a good way), they should totally expand their space. Great quick service and VERY flavorful food! We had the guacamole as an appetizer with the warm tortilla chips. There was 3 of us and we ordered the Chimichanga, Chorio Pollo (amazing mash of flavor! Its salty - chicken and chorizo - and sweet - pineapple - with a splash of queso on top) and Cochinita Pibil (pulled pork with marinade). My coworkers and I came here for lunch today based on the reviews we read and through word of mouth. I'd 10/10 recommend this place! I loved the different salsas they give you with their chips and I got the California Burrito with steak and my god it was delicious and it was absolutely huge. It was flavorful and super fresh and light, not saturated and heavy like some burritos tend to be. Our waiter was super sweet and attentive and the inside is small but cute! I am very confused by the ratings of this place (although I fear many of you have not actually tasted authentic Mexican Food). I visited on 3/5/17 - a Sunday. The place was packed when we arrived. I do not have a place to compare this too as I have yet to find a decent Mexican Restaurant in MA, but this one was by far the WORST. As I said, the food is NOT MEXICAN, but hey I could still enjoy a dish if it were cooked well. Food is bland, unseasoned, microwaved, canned sauces, etc. No exaggeration. My wife and I were extremely disappointed. I was risky, and ordered one of the harder dishes to execute, the Mole Enchilada. I had to scrape off every remnant of the mole and scarfed the rest down. The chicken (which was dry and had not one other visible ingredient inside) was another dissapointment. My wife got the shrimp tacos. Shrimp tasted old or frozen. Oh yeah, and not one of the four tacos could even be lifted off the plate. The single corn tortilla surrounding each taco was already falling apart, the moment the plate touched our table. Again flavors were bland. NO JOKE. TACO BELL IS BETTER QUALITY. The bartender made my wife and I a margarita that was diluted with a mix, that we specifically asked not to have (our request: Tequilla, Lime, Agave - nothing else). We voiced our concerns with our server who was as accommodating as one could be in such a situation. Even after explaining that the drink was not what we asked, I was appalled that the bartender expected me to believe that what I asked for was what he had made - he straight up lied to the customer. C'mon, I know my Margaritas!!! For our troubles our server gave us a free dessert. The flan was the only thing worth our time (hold the store bought chips, yummy salsas, and the decent guacamole), after we scraped off a raspberry syrup, a chocolate syrup, and a pile of canned syrupy fruit off the top of the Flan. WOW, just WOW. FYI, this is not how a Flan is served. I will never return, and I hope you do not either. read more
