I planned a Valentine's Dinner for some friends at Mi Veracruz. We had a good turnout. I was happy that they had the room for us inside and outside. I chose inside. I believe they only had one Waitress. The lady owner was there as well. I had to get my own menu, I was served my margarita along with salsa and chips-but I had to prompt the Waitress for that. It's almost like she was not there at all. No chips and salsa for the other five or six people-all waiting for that. Slow............ The orders were finally taken and came out with good speed. The food is always good here. So, the low stars are that no one helped this young Waitress! She basically, "ghosted us". Several of us wanted dessert, including myself-to no avail. I had to hunt her down for our checks. I was so over the lack of service, I just wanted to leave. I made a phone call for an RSVP two days before last night. No rsvp's. This is by far the worst place we have been. The waiter was definitely challenged which is NOT an issue!! He placed the wrong order and brought out the wrong order to which we brought to management's attention. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get our correct food and I seriously wonder if the wrong order we received was just given to people who truly ordered it without being made again after being given to us....gross if they didn't make them new plates after putting it on our table. We received NO compensation at all for our inconvenience..lunch meals for $8.99 and 3 beers cost us $31. I had the manager yelling me because I expected compensation as he was challenged and what a jerk I was regarding his mistakes to be adjusted by management without clearly proper training. If their employee was not capable of taking orders on his own he should have been supervised during the order taking. Shame on management for how they treated him and us. Pedro and Camilla are my new favorite Servers!! They both looked after us so well. We got the Shrimp cocktail which was delicious as the shrimp were cut in half length ways which helped them soak in the juice. We also got the quesabirria which we enjoyed thoroughly. I love Veracruz, Mexico so I told myself every Mexican restaurant that got Veracruz in it I will go to it I even went to a Veracruz restaurant in Spain before! When me and my boyfriend walked in we were standing awkwardly at the door area waiting to be seated but eventually we started walked down to the other side of the restaurant to ask the hostess/waitress if we can seat. She said just find a spot and I will come to you shortly. We received chips and salsa and ordered our drinks and then ordered our food 10 minutes past and our waters finally come. Few minutes past and our food and Horchata comes. The taste was amazing worth the wait. My boyfriend only got half way done with his burrito until he was extremely full! We visited this restaurant based on reviews while visiting the area. Had high hopes. It was karaoke night and very loud for the size of the restaurant and finally gave up trying to communicate with others in our party. Our waitress did not speak English which we tried to respect, but made it very hard to communicate our order. We needed to ask several times for our guacamole and the water was so chlorinated we could not drink. The prices were very low which may contribute to the continuous line of people getting food to go. The food was average and was overall not what we had hoped for. read more

This was our go too Mexican restaurant, but recently there seems to be a change. Twice have gotten cold food, as it ice cold, also change it how it was made and it just isn't as good. One example is they were using jalapeños for flavor, now getting green peppers, not a good change. What an amazing restaurant. I've been eyeing this restaurant for quite awhile now. Many people have told me that the first establishment had a delicious food but I was not able to come and try it out. I'm very thankful that we have one near my place. Went today for dinner and had an amazing California Burrito. It was so big and they give you free salsa and chips to go along with it. You can either dine in or take out your food. It was a very fast served and the food was hot served. There were not a lot of people when I came in around 5:00 PM. I bet you this place will be packed as soon as everyone try at least one of their menus. The server was very kind and told me to take my time to order and just call her when I am ready. I placed a pickup order and had to call back three times because they couldn't understand what I was saying, which is understandable but still was frustrating. as soon as i was transferred to someone that could understand me they were rude when I asked for kids meals in my order , they kept repeating "kids meal" with an attitude . I finally got my order, at a very affordable price ! The food was tasty but they forgot my salsa that the menu says comes with your order which is whatever but I ordered queso and guac I would've paid for some salsa too! I only got one bag of chips for a large queso and side guac, and half my queso spilt out the bag because it was in a metal pan like the food comes in that wasn't even sealed correctly. Overall the food is good and very inexpensive, but service sucks! Probably will be back but won't do take out. read more

Amazing! This restaurant is next to my house and has been there for awhile but I've just never tried it. I got the Enchiladas Combo with a Tamale, Beans and Tres Leches. Everything was so flavorful, the perfect temperature (not too hot, not too cold), the perfect placement & amount of cheese.. also not too spicy but just enough. The meat was tender & flavorful! The rice was moist but not mushy. The beans were the perfect density. Honestly, some of the best Mexican food I've had in awhile. I haven't tried the tres leches yet.. because I had to write a review on how good this food was! But I don't doubt that it's anything short of amazing. Service was fast even amidst the pandemic. This was the first visit to this new restaurant. I ordered the Carnitas - one of the dishes I always look for in an authentic Mexican restaurant. It was excellent and the portions are plentiful (I took some home to enjoy again). The service was excellent. I have an allergy to onion and they were very good at ensuring I had nothing served to me that had onion in it. KC the clown was providing gracious welcomes to all patrons, doing face painting is desired and balloon fun also. It is a place that welcomes everyone - and they have specials! Taco Tuesday - all day tacos are 99cents each - beef or chicken. Thursdays children eat free. I will definitely return. Oh yes, cannot forget dessert --- my friend had flan that she said was delicious and I had the fried ice cream and thoroughly enjoyed it!! I love this place, the prices are unbeatable and the food is always so good. I prefer this Mi Veracruz to the Spring Park location, it's in a better location and the atmosphere feels more comfortable. I used to be a big fan of La Nopalera but let's be real, they're not as good as they used to be and the prices are kind of wild now. If you want better quality than La Nop for cheaper come to Mi Veracruz, I haven't been disappointed! My fajita nachos were awesome--the chips were fresh and hot, the chicken was seasoned well, the veggies were cooked to perfection, and the queso drizzle was the cherry on top. And man was my margarita strong!! I was a little worried at first because it looked small but it packed a punch and was still flavorful. 5 stars from me. Shout out to Brooke who's been our waitress on our last couple visits, she's very attentive and kind. I always recommend this restaurant to friends and I'll for sure be back again! This is our Friday night go-to place to eat. It's close to where we live. The food is fast and delicious. The staff is very friendly. The margaritas are great and they have live music on Fridays. The food is inexpensive and the vibe is fun. I recommend the barbacoa tacos or the tacos al pastor. The corn tortillas are made fresh and are excellent.
