The young man who works the bar is amazing. For years, he's always been so good. If he's not here, service will be trash. Gotta be honest. Other than that, decent food and drinks that will get you there. I did a big lipstick mark on my glass and the lady bartender was looking at my mouth like it was me. Girl you know you didn't see any lipstick on me. She followed by giving me a drink in a plastic cup instead of a clean glass. What a beautiful restaurant! My little family and I visited Cinco after an morning out and about. I always pass by Cinco because, although it's a huge restaurant, it's still kinda in the cut. But when we were deciding where to eat in the plaza, we decided to finally check them out. When we entered, there was no one at the hostess stand but a young lady came to greet us a few minutes later. We were seated on the patio which was absolutely beautiful, even including a little pond and a massive statue pouring water into it. We were seated, given menus, and told that someone would be out to help us. Ten minutes later, no one had come out to greet us. There was a server going to the other tables but he never stopped at ours. After another five minutes, I went and told someone inside that we hadn't been taken care of or given water. About five minutes later a young lady came to our table. She was great! We were given chips & salsa, and placed our appetizer order. The guacamole was pretty good. I also ordered the ahi tuna totopos and had such high hopes as I love ahi tuna. Unfortunately, the presentation was a bit sloppy and not what I expected at all. I figured it was just a one-off, and decided to dig in either way. I wanted to like them so badly! I did not. :( The sauce on top was a chipotleish-flavored salsa and it was just too sweet for me, and didn't seem to mesh well with the tuna. I rarely send items back but after one bite, I knew they weren't for me. Luckily, the Cinco team took them back without question. The rest of our food was okay, but between my partner and I, neither one of us felt truly 'wowed' by the flavor. And that hurts to say, because I love Mexican food. But you couldn't pay me to come back here. We came with a large party, and I arrived literally five minutes after everyone else. Somehow, that five minutes turned into me never getting served. While the rest of the table ate, laughed, and wrapped up their meals, I sat waiting. And waiting. And waiting. The server never came back. Barely got water. No check-ins. No updates. Nothing. Eventually, I had to order my food "to go" just so I wouldn't leave hungry. Which means I didn't even get the full experience, I had to reheat my meal at home. That's not how dining out is supposed to go. Stopped in for a quick lunch a little after 1pm, and while the parking lot looked packed, the inside was surprisingly calm with plenty of seating. Service: Service was great from start to finish. The hostess, servers, and even the managers were welcoming and attentive. Our food came out incredibly fast, and entrées were at the table within about five minutes of ordering. Menu: I loved that they offered a seasonal menu, though I ultimately went with a burrito bowl from the regular menu. Prices were very reasonable across the board for both food and drinks. Food: We started with chips and salsa. The chips were a bit coarser than I'm used to, and while the salsa tasted fresh, it could've used a little more flavor. Still enjoyable, just not the standout. For my entrée, I was looking for a healthier option, so I went with the Tropical Burrito Bowl (rice, black beans, mango salsa, chicken, avocado, sour cream). Everything arrived hot and fresh. It could've used a touch more seasoning, but nothing a sprinkle of salt couldn't fix. The chicken had a nice char, and once everything was mixed together, the flavors came through more. Drinks: I'm not a big red wine person, but I ordered the sangria, and it was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Pricing: Great value! Plenty of drink options, with some margaritas as low as five dollars. My sangria was only $7, and the bowl was about $15, both generous portions. Last Sunday visited Cincos with my best friend for drinks and food. We preferably wanted a place that was decked out with holiday decorations and this is what we decided on. The rooftop was filled with Christmas themed decorations as we desired. They didn't disappoint there. They also had a special food menu that I believe is seasonal. Oddly, no Christmas themed bar drinks or drink specials. We ordered guacamole and queso as appetizers and ordered tacos from the special menu. I got the salmon tacos which had a little spice to them but tasted mostly sweet and tropical. My friend got the tacos with beef and appeared to have enjoyed her tacos as well. Our bar tender gave exceptional service by checking on us regularly and making each drink perfectly delicious. She also suggested food and drinks based on our preferences. We came here the Tuesday before Christmas, maybe an hour and a half before they closed, for a quick lunch bite. Despite it being a slow day, we were greeted with with fantastic customer service. I appreciated the fact that they honored their regular lunch specials and Taco Tuesday deals even though it was Christmas Eve. The food was cooked to perfection and we had no complaints about the appetizers or our entrees. The ambiance was good, the music wasn't loud at all and there were probably only 3 other guests aside from our party (just 2 of us at my table). Cinco is the latest restaurant to occupy this real estate in the Akers Mill shopping center. The two story structure is beautifully decorated and has ample free parking near restaurant entrance in surrounding plaza. The location is convenient to 285 and 75, and just down the street from the Battery complex. The interior was equally impressive with booths, high top tables with embossed chairs and bar seating options. The bar was already full with patrons seated at every corner at 3 pm. The bartender was very pleasant but could have used some help to serve in a timely fashion. We had to ask for basics like chips and salsa a few times and also to place drink orders. The bartender was accommodating and brought our margaritas - original, frozen for my friend and on the rocks for me. I also ordered a quesadilla with portobello mushrooms and spinach. Arrived on Sunday evening at 820pm to place a to-go order. Was greeted at the bar Yasmine. My order was taken promptly, accurately and ready to go in only 13 minutes. We used to go here more frequently years ago, and after a return this weekend, I think I remember why we stopped. The service here is pretty much non-existent. At first, I thought it all had to do with the management failing to staff correctly, but after awhile, it was clear the server was just terrible too (albeit in sure understaffing added to it), as well as during our entire two hour dinner here, not once did a manager come by to check on things. First, it took over 25 minutes to get our first round of drinks to the table. Just after that, my water went empty and it remained empty for FIFTY MINUTES. By the time the server came to the table (after other employees had brought our meals), pretty much everyone's water and or other drink were sitting empty. I was parched, so my water went empty pretty quickly, but it was never refilled between then and when we left. I had also ordered a second cocktail well before diner arrived, but then he had to be reminded when he finally came to the table 40 minutes later that it had not been received. Also had to ask for chip refills and was never offered salsa refills. Food was just okay, but even if it was terrific, the service experience alone is more than enough to say I will be avoiding this restaurant in the future and encourage others to as well. read more

This was my first time going to this location but I frequently visited the old location at Perimeter Mall. Now is it the best Mexican food you're going to have in the city? No, but the prices are pretty reasonable and they have great drinks. This time I ordered the Salmon a la Parilla and it was really good. I thought the lobster and shrimp sauce would've had a more seafood flavor but it tasted like queso to me. Overall the dish is still pretty tasty. Typically I love to get the lobster and shrimp dip though! I'll definitely come back because I didn't realize they moved locations and this one is super close to my job. read more

Very spacious Inside and outside. My friends got Taco and quesadilla and both really liked their food as well. The server was very good. Food came so fast and piping hot. I didn't pay attention on about beans on the side and I asked if I could get black beans and with a huge smile, I got the side I wanted. Great preparation of food and love the place !!! Place was great! The honest was a little awkward and we didn't realize we were being seated. She just walked off and didn't say anything. Oh well. The Salsa was good, you could taste the smokey flavor with a nice smooth Tomato finish. I'm guessing they grill their peppers before making the Salas. Also, they didn't make it hard to get. The waitstaff give us two bowls of salsa to get us started. I ordered a 3 Taco plate and was able to order 3 different Taco's. One of them had an egg in it. There was a piece of lettuce in there as well. This really added a lot of crunch per bite. It was not the usual Taco! The decore and walls had a very modern-day feel. Nice and clean! Felt like somewhere quick. Tried takeout at Cinco. The service was ok. Waited for about 4 min before being helped. Once helped was better, chips and salsa quick ad well as drink. The order also made it out very quick. It took a while to close the check. The margarita was decent had a good amount of tequila which is good. The food-- the takeout order of the carnitas bowl was not a bowl but a box of carnitas, rice and beans on the side. I combined the ingredients in a bowl when i got home. You could tell the rice was cooked with a little too much oil when I transferred it. The beans were good and the carnitas was a little too salty. The tacos were ok. Had the carnitas tacos, baja fish and fried chicken. Same comment for the carnitas. The fish was better but a little heavy on the glaze, could have used more spice from the jalapeño mayo. The fried chicken tacos were pretty good. You can tell there are patrons that go there all the time and they definitely get good attention. I think some of the details of service for someone new can improve. In all pretty good for a quick drink and takeout. read more

This is one of my favs as it's near my work and they never fail to disappoint food and service wise. They have a large bar area and all the seating areas are nice. They usually have a full lot during lunch hours around 12-1:30, so keep that in mind but there is plenty of parking. This review is for my Cinco de Mayo experience a couple weeks ago. On the way in, there was a guy selling tequila shots and I was his first customer lol. Came here without a reservation (took a chance) and we were immediately seated which was nice. They had everything we wanted, frozen margaritas and a meat filled queso option. I got my regular: shrimp quesadilla. This time, the shrimp had a good amount of shell still on it, but out of all the times I've ordered from here, I'm still giving 5 stars . We also got a pitcher of frozen strawberry margaritas. Pork Belly Tacos were alright - the chipotle mayo flavor stood out above all the other ingredients Moscow Mule was good - well made, not sure if it was intentional or if the bar ran out - but there was no mint leaf for the Moscow mule. Lacks a bit of experience in the service department. Often younger wait staff and no evidence of a manager on staff. The experience itself is a good one. Nice restaurant and easy to hear and converse. The food was good but not great. I go here often but only because there are not many Mexican options in the area. I only had a single dish here and it was extremely flavorful and had a great mix of items. I noticed a lot of peppers being grilled indoors at the bar which seemed cool. I actually ordered the veggie burrito bowl in an attempt to eat healthier and then I added grilled chicken. I also ordered guac on top and when all this was mixed together it was a winner. Since this was all I did there, I don't have much else to say other than the help was friendly. If you want a healthy meal that is filling, order the above. See photo for the evidence. It's Mexican food. But more can I say. We had a group of about 15 that was in town for business. This was just around the corner and made it easy. Walk for dinner one evening. Our waitress was pretty good and very attentive considered we have the large group. I'm actually surprised that they did not give her assistance with our large party. Not realizing at the moment that it was New Years Eve and that most places were closing earlier than normal, I decided to come to Cinco Mexican Cantina for the first time after being told that they had amazing food. I got there with my date around 7:30. They were closing at 8 but the bartender invited us right in. We sat right at the bar and didn't have to worry about anyone because it was literally us and another table there. Cinco is big enough for large groups, but it also has an intimate vibe as well due to the lighting and the overall decor/ ambiance. The bartender was super nice and very easy to talk to. We started with a pitcher of the Cinco Margarita ($21) and I had the Calamari appetizer ($11.50) with chile glaze and chipotle mayo. Given that there was literally no one in the restaurant at this point, the service was fast and so were the cooks lol so after the calamari came out, I went ahead and ordered the Steak & Blue Cheese Burrito Bowl ($14). This bowl has marinated grilled skirt steak, pico de gallo, American cheese, sautéed spinach, blue cheese crumbles, green onions, chimichurri sauce, ranch black beans and Mexican rice. Within minutes of devouring the calamari which was cooked to perfection, my entree was brought out. There was a nice portion size of calamari and the chile glaze and chipotle mayo are the perfect combination for dipping. The chile glaze is on the sweet side and the chipotle mayo was more so on the salt side and I enjoy those arrangements of sauces. When I first looked at my burrito bowl, I'll admit I wasn't sold. But after tasting it, that completely changed. The Steak & Blue a cheese Burrito Bowl is amazing. You can literally taste everything from the sautéed spinach to the ranch black beans. Everything is rich and flavorful. The fact that I ate all the black beans says a lot because I never eat black beans let alone order them with my food. Typically when I've eaten food with blue cheese crumbles in them, the crumbles tend to take over the entire entree but this bowl was different. There were hints of it which allowed for the other ingredients to flourish as well. I highly enjoyed my food and drinks at Cinco Mexican Cantina and I'll definitely be back for the outside patio and to see the vibe when its happy hour. read more
