I must've came on an off day, there was no other customers here. 3-4 employees working, an older lady helped me out, she was struggling to make my tacos. Decided to give them a second chance since I really liked their crispy fish taco with mango salsa (even at $5 each!). So I was in line with maybe 7-8 people and they skipped me! They took the order for the person behind me. Like damn I know I'm short but am I invisible?! Lol. There were multiple people behind the counter so I thought someone would eventually help me. About a minute later... I spoke up and they said sorry. The people who work here are really bad listeners and have poor communication with each other. Was craving fish tacos and found Cinco TacoBar on Yelp. The first "bar" I've been to where you can get whatever you want on your taco, torta, burrito, etc. And the first place that serves bomb torta on Dutch crunch bread! To my surprise, I still haven't gotten a fish taco from them to this day - I will one day! Their chipotle mayo goes with everything as well as their "hot" sauce, which in my taste is medium. The downside is that they don't accept phone orders for orders more than $20. I prefer to order in person so I can see everything I want. Taco tortillas are made fresh in front of you. The churros are delicious! There's a filling inside which I'm unsure of, but their chocolate dipping sauce pairs really well with it. The horchata was delicious and not watered down like other places. Perfect in every way. Located in a shopping plaza next door to BevMo, there's always parking nearby. Since my go to Mexican place is gone, I am on an adventure to find the next best thing. This place looked interesting when we stopped by at Bevmo so we decided to give it a try. Think of this as a higher end of Chipotle. The way you order is similar. The plates take a bit longer since they have to cook those in the back. It is about a 10min wait. This place would not be good groups because the interior is a bit small. The only thing that was odd, I don't know where the trash cans are. For food, we got a bowl, carne asada plate, shrimp tacos, and dutch crunch torta. I got the bowl because it is a safe option for me and there are times if the bowls are bad, the other foods aren't as great either. BUT their bowls are good. You top it with what you like and of course, guac is more. The carne asada plate came with fries. My friend topped it with beans and rice. The meat was good. The Torta was interesting. Imagine a burrito burger. The Dutch crunch has a good sweetness to the bread, it made the sandwich a bit more tasty. Highly recommend it. The shrimp taco to me were OK, but my husband loved it. They offer chips for free. Make sure to ask for salsa! This place doesn't offer fountain drinks, so it is either bottled drinks or water. They use metal utensils so make sure to ask for them if you need them. Better than plastic I would say. I would definitely come back to try either food. read more

This spot is located in a shopping mall adjacent to Bayfair mall. Lots of parking. Walk in the door and you are greeted at the hot bar by your server. Your tacos are made to order on tortillas made in from of you. The meats are kept in trays. Pastor, asado.... all there. The dress the tacos as you like. This scheme is a homage to Chipotle. While the cafeteria style assembly makes things move quickly, I still like to see my final product a little more visually appealing. Having the food almost catapulted from the tin to my taco shell was quite disappointing. The bowls are great, it comes with rice, a protein, and options for toppings. They have a really spicy chipotle sauce that is definitely worth trying. My complaint would mainly be the price. While the food tastes good, the price is really expensive for what you get. And the quantity is not as expected either. The sides and additional toppings cost quite a bit (ie: guacamole is $2.25 extra). You can get more for your buck at a Chipotle or Best Coast Burritos. read more

Once you try their hand pressed fresh corn tortillas that are made to order, you'll be disappointed with other places that still use pre-made tortillas from the bag! Their fillings and sauces are delicious but it's their fresh corn tortillas that make all the difference. We loaded ours up with carnitas, carne asada and camarón. Each of them were flavorful and came with a heaping serving of cheese and salsa. The portions are very generous and filling. Be prepared for things to get messy while you eat these delicious makings. Don't worry though, they serve the tacos on a large baking pan to ensure you don't lose a single piece. Be sure to ask for a side of their green sauce. Believe me, I only needed 2 it was so flavorful, everything was made perfectly and it was soooo filling! The menu is pretty simple with most of the ingredients you're familiar with (Chicken, beef, steak...) but make sure when you come into the restaurant that you start on the right-hand side and work your way left to the register. The meat ingredients all looked good so I split with 2 and tried the Carnitas & Asada. I went with the mango salsa and had some chips and salsa on the side. Pay a little extra for some guacamole (worth it). The toritallas were freshly made and the food was on point. It exceeded my expectations as far as the amount of food vs price. As I continue my search for the best Mexican food in the bay and done every Taco Tuesday of course! I've been wanting to try this place for some time and I'm glad I stopped by. The lines were wrapped out the door during dinner time. I kept hearing everyone in line raving about the place and it made the anticipation even more exciting. The place is very small and quaint with just a few tables inside and some outside seating. As we inched closer to the front of the line, I could see the different yummy toppings and sides through a sea of vibrant colors! I clearly was hungry with my eyes since I probably ordered just about every little darn thing on that menu! I know I wanted to try their al pastor tacos, loaded criscut fries, and super burrito. And the meal wouldn't have been the same if we hadn't washed it down with some refreshing agua fresca, which we had the mundet and sangria. The mundet fresca was a first for me, but it had a sweet apple cider taste to it which I really loved. The sangria is non-alcoholic, but it definitely tasted like the real thing. The set up of the food was an assembly line of people and really efficient in my opinion. I really appreciated that our plates and tacos were fully loaded! I couldn't even see the tortilla at one point, but more the merrier! There were so many options in sides and they weren't afraid to load that plate full. Even when I asked for more of a side, the employee would just smile and happily complied! I was able to enjoy pickled onions, every kind of pickled peppers, grilled onions, radishes, chips and salsa. The combination was so good together and I was really happy of the many options at my fingertips. The al pastor tacos were pretty good, flavorful and loaded with sauce. Now the loaded criscut fries were absolutely massive and even more delicious! Perfectly loaded with tons of guacamole, sour cream, meat of your choice (carne asada for us), pico de gallo, onions, cilantro, and cheesy goodness!! When we first saw the ginormous portion we were convinced we would never be able to finish it, well between two people that plate didn't last long. Haha! Every bite was so good paired with fulfilling toppings on crispy potato heaven. We ended up having to throw in the towel and take the rest home. But, I never shy away from leftovers and it's considered a win win for me! However, when we heated the burrito the next day it was still so good surprisingly. That's when you know it's really good food, that even the next day it's just a delicious as eating it at the restaurant. The food taste definitely holds true to their website description which is, "infusing old world recipes with a modern sensibility". Most important detail is that the tortillas are made to order which makes the food so extra. Melding of fresh ingredients really shine through. I live around the corner and my only regret is not trying this place sooner. My beef brisket burrito was really good and they offered three different salsa levels. We requested mild and medium, medium was closer to mild for our taste buds. Next time we will have to order hot. More expensive, but better. Tortillas are hand made right in front of you. The brisket (salpicon) is muy delicioso- hands down. Small restaurant with not a lot of seating- luckily by the time we paid a lot of customers finished and left. The service was great as the young heavier guy took his time with us and gave us recommendations. We got a brisket bowl con todo, horchata, three brisket tacos and a Mexican Coke and it totaled $40 and some change. A bit pricey for lunch but was def worth it. After receiving my brother's stamp of approval, he encouraged me to give Cinco TacoBar a shot. I don't need any coaxing into eating tacos, so we had dinner with my boyfriend on a Thursday night. The place was packed with a line just out the door. Cinco is tiny inside, so if you're a group of three or more on a busy night, good luck getting a table. I managed to swoop on one as soon as another party left. Tacos are expensive here, at $3.25 each. Guacamole is $1.00 each PER TACO. Tacos don't come with sides except chips, so a standard three-taco plate will run you $9.75, plus an additional $3 if you want guacamole on each taco. The handmade corn tortillas are absolutely delicious, a ton of meat gets put into each taco and slathered in all the toppings of your choosing, but just about ten bucks for three tacos is way too pricey. I got all chicken tacos and the chicken was tender and well seasoned. The mild salsa, which is green, has great flavor, and the hot salsa (the red one) had a good kick to it. The quesadilla is a pretty large portion, and though you can add your choice of meat, again, $8.45 for what amounts to a couple of tortillas with mainly cheese in between seemed steep. Conversely, the churros were a great deal at $4.25, with four to an order, a drizzling of chocolate and caramel, and cup of melted chocolate to dip. They're made fresh to order and come out super hot. They were very good and I definitely recommend leaving some room for those if you're a churro lover. The burrito is pretty massive, and at $9.95 isn't too bad. It's jam packed with your choice of options available at the counter, including meat, rice, beans, salsas, sour cream, cheese, guacamole, veggies, etc. Just name what you want and they'll throw it in. While service was speedy and very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious, the total came out to almost $40. That's a lot for food you can get at a taco truck for a fraction of the price, churros aside. Yeah, I know, I'm paying to help with the overhead of the restaurant that the food truck doesn't have, but it's still expensive when compared to how much you can get the same food for elsewhere. However, Cinco is delicious and I would recommend at least checking it out to see if you think it's worth repeat visits. The name TacoBar makes it sound like a big chain of mall taco shops but Cinco is anything but this! Me and two friends stopped by here around 3pm after a brief bike ride at Lake Chabot. My friend was pretty much starving after doing some of the hill climbs on an empty stomach. The line was fine and the service was fast. In a few minutes, I got my set of three street tacos (carne asada, al pastor and pollo asado). At nearly $4, these are some pricey but very good tacos. Great ingredients, lots of flavor in the meats and salsa. I'm especially a sucker for mango salsa. I tried a bit of the mula as well which were quite good if you're big on cheese. I personally prefer the their tacos a bit more. Verdict: Pricey for tacos vs some local taquerias and trucks but you get high quality ingredients, a more unique menu and some really good salsa and toppings. read more

The concept of the Papa Loca (nacho fries) was great! However, the execution wasn't there. They use waffle fries, which doesn't stay crispy and is too salty combined with the other toppings (cilantro, red onion, guacamole and drizzled sour cream). We didn't even eat half of it. I have been here a handful of times and I think I am able to give an honest review. The shop itself is pretty small, with only a couple tables inside and outside. It is located inside Fashion Faire Place next to GameStop and Bevmo, with plenty of parking in the lot. The staff are mostly friendly and don't skimp on your meats/toppings. One of the first times I came here with my friends, the owner actually gave us free churros with our order! Tacos are about $2.95 each, which is a bit on the pricer side for me but I think it is definitely worth it! First off, they start off with a fresh, homemade-right-in-front-of-you tortilla. And then you can pick a choice of meats between Asada, Pollo, Carnitas, Pastor, and they even have a Vegetarian meat option! After you can pile your tacos high with their many toppings including grilled onions, cilantro, different types of salsas and cheeses, etc. I love that they are generous with their meat portions! Usually at most taco places it takes me about 4ish-6 tacos to be full (I'm low key a taco fiend) but here I can be full with 3! I haven't tried all of the meats but for the ones I have they are very flavorful! If you're not feeling tacos they also have burritos, quesadillas, bowls, plates, and more! My bf loves to get burritos here because they jam pack if full of ingredients and there's always leftovers! The ones they have now can barely understand English which makes it hard to order what you want. Also, it's disgusting that they mix meats in front of your eyes. I don't eat pork so I'm always cautious when I eat out. I noticed they use the same utencils for the pork, chicken, and beef, and use their dirty gloves to touch meat and scoop out veggies. I've seen one lady wipe down the counters and proceed to make burritos all without changing her gloves. Gloves are not meant to keep your hands clean, they're meant to keep the FOOD clean. The food is still pretty good, but the steak is super oily. Sometimes when I order the bowl, there is a puddle of grease at the bottom of the bowl.
