I had initially been referred to Bliss Nails on Fletcher Parkway at Jackson Drive. However, when I went there on a Tuesday with a 2:00 pm appointment, it was jammed and the sour man at the door did not make a good impression. Accordingly, I walked out on that day. That brings me to the Nail Studio of San Carlos. It is located directly next to a Starbucks Coffee House I like to visit. One day as I was leaving Starbucks, I looked up and noticed the nail Studio San Carlos. I had a walk in pedicure and everything was perfect. I have since become a regular at the Nail Studio of San Carlos. My technician is Wendy ("Hang") and she is wonderful. Very efficient, and she does a perfect job on both my manicures and pedicures. In addition, Kevin, at the door on the weekends, offers a very gracious welcome. Be sure to pay your respects to the statues of the two gods placed on a lower shelf on the little table to the left of the check-in desk!

Two different people worked on my hands and feet, and the quality of the work was simply unacceptable. I had to ask them to redo several nails because they were poorly done. It felt like the focus was on getting customers in and out as quickly as possible rather than providing the quality service this salon used to be known for. The work was rushed, careless, and not at all what I've come to expect from this salon. I hope management takes this seriously. If the salon is going to increase prices or promote upgraded services, the quality and attention to detail need to match. Based on today's experience, I'm very disappointed and will seriously reconsider returning.

Both services were reasonably priced. The spa is small but clean and bright. The staff were friendly, and there's plenty of parking right outside. The only minor hiccup was a brief communication mix-up (English isn't everyone's first language here), but once I clearly restated that we wanted pedicures too, they immediately moved us into a booth, and took excellent care of us. Overall, a solid, no-fuss experience. Great for a quick, affordable pamper session. I would definitely return!

I guess she assumed I had gel on my toenails? I paid for the pamper me pedi, but it felt very basic. The pedicure itself was sloppy. My daughter's pedicure was good. However her manicure chipped in a day. I get that regular polish chips much more quickly than gel, but if they only want to work with gel polish, then they shouldn't offer regular polish. I was disappointed in the end. It felt like we were being penalized for not getting gel. Even though we had an appointment, I felt like we were in the way. I'm so sad, I really thought I had found my nail shop.

I asked if she needed a minute to settle herself and prepare the room and she said no. I then asked her to wash her hands prior to starting (as she would be touching my face and since she just came in and hadn't prepared the room or anything...and I don't know where her hands had been just before she arrived). She gave me attitude but I asked her again, and even said, "or use hand sanitizer." She grudgingly went to the bathroom, turned on the water for 3 secs, loudly grabbed paper towels, balled them up and returned. So, it was clear that hands were not washed. At this point, I'm regretting the decision to have given this place a try despite some of the negative experiences I've read about. But, I decided to make the best and see if it can be a good experience after all. She begins, and does not clean or prep my lashes...AT ALL. She puts tape on my undereye area, sticks some things on my forehead and starts applying the lashes. When I told her that I noticed she didn't put anything on before starting, she told me that she doesn't use anything because they contain alcohol which isn't good. After a few minutes, she takes my hand, puts a fan in it, telling me to hold it there for a bit and that I'm done. I said, what? I look at the clock and it's been 7 minutes. Yes, SEVEN minutes!!! I tell her that I have never had my lashes done in seven minutes. She told me that she's fast and that she's been doing lashes for 15 years. Once I get up and look in the mirror, my lashes on the right side are not straight. She said it was because my natural lashes were curly. I told her I've had my lashes done plenty of times and have never had that issue. I had to ask several times for her to fix it. To her credit, she did finally have me lay back down to correct the visibly crooked placement. But the final product was definitely below standard. I was in and out in under 30 minutes (mind you, we started late). When I got home, I looked in my magnifying makeup mirror. The lashes are sloppily applied and glue chucks are visible and can be seen on my eyelid. I definitely won't be going back.

I was the only client there, yet my service felt extremely rushed. My nail technician used a fan to dry my nails and then had me pay while they were still wet. While paying, one of my nails smeared and had to be redone. She fixed that finger, told me to "be careful" and make sure my nails dried, and then sent me on my way. I walked about five minutes home. By the time I simply entered my house, my thumb and another finger were badly smudged and ruined. I wasn't doing anything strenuous--I literally walked home and opened my front door. I understand that regular polish takes time to dry, but for the price of a professional manicure, I expect the salon to allow enough drying time before having me pay and leave. If a nail had already smeared before I even left the salon, that should have been an indication that they weren't ready. The most frustrating part is that I specifically scheduled this manicure because I have a wedding to attend tomorrow. Instead of having professionally finished nails for the event, I'm now having to fix them myself at home. Unfortunately, I will not be returning. Based on my experience and how quickly my manicure was ruined, I would not recommend Serenity Nail and Spa if you need your nails done for an important event.

My mother in law had given me a gift certificate and I had forgotten about ..I found it and went into Cindy's to found they won't take " it's been too long" . Is what the lady there told me. The g.c was written out on June 25, 2011 . Today's date being may 9, 2012 which is NOT even a year old. After I told the lady that not accepting this is against the law since it does not have an expiration date on it. She then offered services but I was too offended to want the service which most likely would not be great service . I went online to do some digging on this law and found out it if there is no expiration date written then it does not expire!! I also found out this is a normal thing there my grandmother use to go there and tired using a gift certificate and was told " oo no it's been too long " . This certificate also not being a year old either. Just from my family they have gained $60 and giving out NO SERVICE! I get the feeling just by her reaction when I told her it was against the law not to accept that she and the rest of the staff does this a lot . I should not have to tell a business what laws they a breaking . Needless to say I will NEVER step foot back there! P.s I hate that I had to give them one star :( read more

I think they were just annoyed that I parked right in front of their place even though it wasn't assigned parking. Makes you think about how they probably treat their guests. Do better.

I love to use Dazzle Dry polishes because they are non-toxic, last as long as gel without needing a UV to cure, and come off with regular nail polish unlike gel. However, almost no salons carry the polishes, and in order for them to work, you have to use all the right polishes in the correct order, so I have always been reluctant to bring them to a salon to use. I brought my Dazzle Dry system, and Diem used it perfectly, and it turned out great! I'm not sure why there are some negative reviews here because I have been many times and really like it!
