I was fooled by the yelp reviews! I just left Cindy's Nail Salon, and I'm beyond disappointed. This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last. I went in for a basic manicure and pedicure to clean up my nails, toes, and cuticles. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible from the start. The man who did my manicure wasn't friendly or gentle. He never asked how I wanted my nails shaped and immediately started filing. My fingernails are now uneven and crooked, there's still dirt underneath them, and my cuticles look awful. It was honestly the worst manicure I've ever had. The woman who did my pedicure was nice, but the quality of the work was just as disappointing. My heels actually look worse than they did before I came in, and my toenails are crooked and jagged and I'll be going home too, even them out on my own. I can't believe I spent nearly $60 for such poor service. To make matters worse, when I was checking out, the woman at the front looked at my tip and asked if I was going to leave more. The nail technicians at this salon are not very skilled. I have had three pedicures here on three separate occasions, each time with a different technician, hoping my experience would improve. Unfortunately, every visit was disappointing. I paid extra for the upgraded pedicure package that included callus removal, yet my heels were still rough when I left. The nail polish application was uneven, sloppy, and looked unprofessional. After giving this salon three chances with three different technicians, I can honestly say the quality has been consistently mediocre. I have been going here for probably 20 years. So I have seen all the changes it has been through over the years. The new owner remodeled the inside and it looks a lot nice and cleaner with its presentation. The ladies that work there are all pretty nice and friendly. But I do have my favorite. There is no one like Sarah. Once I found her I always requested her for my pedicures. She is so sweet and knows exactly what I want. I dont even have to say anything. There was a brief time when she left and I was devastated. I am so glad that she decided to come back. It was not the same without her. They have a huge color wall of nail polish. Tom is the GOAT when it comes to doing nails. I first went to him because my nail guy at the time was on vacation for a month, and I couldn't wait that long to get my bio-gel nails redone. When I sat down with Tom, he noticed that three of my nails were crooked, and he asked me, "Why doesn't your guy straighten them for you?" in that moment, I knew that Tom had won my business for life. Mind you, I live in Los Feliz, and the almost hour-long drive to get to Cindy Nails Spa is totally worth it to have Tom make my hands look expensive. Plus everyone who works at the spa is very kind and welcoming. I constantly get compliments on my nails, and I'm constantly also admiring how perfectly sculpted they are. I called 1 hour ago and got in at 3 pm so that's great when you consider how busy they are usually . I've been coming to her spot since she opened and keep coming since they consistently do a great job . With the exception of one time but consider 1 out of 20-30 visits is great She always trying to stay on top of trending nail applications and products . If she doesn't have what you're looking for when you ask she will the next time ! There are 6 nail stations and 6 pedicure stations . They always play a food network from Asia that makes me hungry every time. Parking is sometimes hard to get a spot but never takes long because it's next to country deli and a cigar shop. My mom and I came to get gel pedicures just a few days ago and both of our nails already chipped! I might as well have gotten a regular pedicure. I've had regular polish last longer than this! We spent 65 on a pedicure expecting a deluxe treatment as described for their special pedicures. But nothing was done. No scrub. No paraffin wax. No hot towels nothing! In search of a nail spa near work so I can kill time before heading home. I only went for a pedi because I'm working in the yard. I was greeted with a smile. They confirmed my appointment and sat me right down. The place was clean and the spa chairs were comfortable and super cute. I picked my color and service and chilled out. They were playing some Vietnamese music and I was nodding my head thinking, "hmm interesting song, I wish I knew what they were singing." One of the nail artists started singing and we started to laugh. They explained to me that the music was for their new year. I appreciate the fact that they wanted to share their culture with me. The nails I got done were beautiful, however, they definitely were not what I thought that they would be. I wanted them more intricate like the design. I don't know if my mistake was saying I don't normally get my nails done or asking about the cost, but I specifically drove out of the way because of the stunning pictures I saw. I've always tried to support small businesses and generally avoid leaving negative reviews. However, after multiple experiences with Cindy, I feel it's important to share my honest experience. I have gone to Cindy exclusively for my nails, and unfortunately, I've experienced repeated problems over many appointments. This wasn't a one-time mistake--it happened consistently. During several visits, my skin was over-filed or cut to the point that it bled, and the filing or drill became so hot that it burned my nails. On other occasions, my nails were filed unevenly, with one hand noticeably shorter or shaped differently than the other. Many times, I had to stop the service and point out the uneven length or shape because it wasn't corrected unless I brought it to her attention. While she would usually fix it after I asked, I was disappointed that these issues kept happening. What concerned me the most was the lack of accountability. Rather than acknowledging the problem or apologizing, I often felt that the responsibility was shifted back to me or an excuse was given instead of addressing what had happened. I work hard for my money, and when I pay for a service, I expect it to be performed with care and professionalism. Unfortunately, my experiences have not met those expectations. Because of these repeated issues, I have decided not to return. I've been having my nails done by Nancy back in the 90's. She's been consistently very good as a manicurist and very personable too. I'm glad I reconnected with her at Cindy's salon. Aside from getting my nails done, I also get my lashes done with May. She's terrifically amazing with her skills. I've had lashes done for many years too at other salons but with May my lashes last for three weeks plus I don't feel any itch at all. I am so grateful to get them done with May at a very reasonable price. Cindy the owner is such a sweet lady. I feel very at home at her nail salon because her staff are just as nice and warm as Cindy. Cindy keeps her salon clean which is another reason why I like going to her salon. My experience was great. I was in town on business and really needed a fresh set of gel-x and a pedicure, so I was a walk in. They already had a couple clients ahead of me with appointments. I was in no rush, but the wait was extremely short considering how many people seemed to be working and how many clients were already in progress. I felt lucky that I had Cindy do my nails. She worked meticulously and efficiently and delivered EXACTLY what I'd asked for. I'm usually not very picky about having someone specific do my nails when at home and they are usually fine, sometimes great sometimes ok.
