(added note: 7/18/11) Just an update - I hurt my leg and couldn't get to them - and so they came to me! Now THAT is customer appreciation. ;-) (original review - 2/6/11? I thought it was earlier.) I really appreciate this place. The owners are very cool, and if you tell them what you want, they will do it! They are not automatons, and treat customers with respect and like family, too. I respect that English is not their first language, but they don't speak another language in front of customers. That always strikes me as rude, and these ladies are definitely not rude. Occasionally, since I can see my nails at a different angle, I will ask them to fix something, and they will redo it without a complaint, and make it perfect. I've come back the next day for a chip, and they've fixed it, too. I don't use the fan, because I feel it can add dust, which creates the bubbles, so I stay there a little longer to make sure I don't muck up their work. Massages here are REALLY relaxing. I prefer just a shoulder massage, sitting in the chair, or you can use the massage table, which has a private area, so you don't feel like you're out there with everyone, but still can hear them and stay in the conversation. I have brought friends here, and really like the sweet, respectful atmosphere and friendliness. They are professionals in a very difficult economy, and are still keeping their prices low. I wish the gas companies would do that! read more

I've avoided nail salons in the past because the "upselling" was so uncomfortable. There was none of that here, and despite wanting only a pedicure, no pressure to get a manicure as well. Rose did my pedicure yesterday and she took really good care of my feet and nails. I lose toenails from time to time from hiking and long distance running, and I really dislike the way my feet look when that happens. I told Rose what I wanted on the phone (acrylic on the big toenails and something to make the others look normal). I liked that she did not promise anything until she could see the nails first. When I got to the shop, Rose took a look at my nails and explained what was going on with my big toenails -- some water had gotten under the acrylic. She removed the old acrylic, cleaned the area thoroughly and then applied the new acrylic. The big toenails look really good now -- before they looked like they were lifting off the nail bed. Rose also gave me some good advice about how to make sure the nails stay healthy and strong. I always appreciate when manicurists do that. The rest of the pedicure was great! And I'm really happy with how my feet look! read more

I've been going to Cindy's nails for years. There isn't actually a Cindy anymore -- it's Lynn and Rose -- and they are both exceptional! I usually treat myself to an extra 15 minutes of foot massage after my pedicure and I feel completely pampered by the time I leave. It's spotless, very reasonably-priced, and the kind of place that if you feel like chatting, there's always good conversation. But if you just want to plug into your iPod, kick back and zone out, it's easy to do that as well. I book a standing appointment, but they do take walk-ins and will do their best to accommodate your schedule. I travel a lot and when I'm out of town I occasionally have to get my mani/pedi elsewhere, and I'm never as happy with the results or the experience as I am with Cindy's Nails. read more

This nail salon is kind of hidden but after seeing that it was close by me on yelp I figured Id give it a try. The owner Rosey was the sweetest little lady and gave me an awsome foot/leg massage with my pedi. Every salon Ive ever been to cuts corners when it comes to the foot rubs but she didnt. She waxed my eyebrows and did a great job at that too. She was very concerned with my comfort, and was sure not to hurt me. My boyfriend and 1 yo son came with me and it was VERY clear that she LOVES kids. She even clipped his nails ( he won't let me do it!) and he was laughing at her. she told us he was welcome to roam the salon (which was empty) and was genuinely kind. It's hard to find good service these days.... But I found it here. This place is very inexpensive as well. My french tiped toes looked AWSOME but French full set looked like Helen Keller did them :/ read more

I have to say first Rosa was just a sweet person. Easy to talk to and she was vey kind. My boyfriend came with me and she let him put on whatever he wanted on TV and hooked up a message chair for him. She only takes one customer at a time so I felt like I was really being looked after. The downside though: I got a Full set for the first time here. I also got a gel top coat and she gave me a design for free. This cost me a total of $30 with tip. After I left and I really looked at my nails, the paint was everywhere, not cleaned, my acrylics were completely different shaped eat nail, not even the same length, some had hairs embedded in the paint, and to top it all, one nail fell of that night and another one just came off the next day. I was very upset and felt like it was a waste of money. I went to a different place, had them take my nails off and redo them. MUCH better than before. Please look at your nails and make she they are good before you leave. read more

Took my daughter for her 18th bday to get long acrylics on the 29th. Her bday was on the 30th and we were throwing a bday party for her. My daughter does professional acrylic nails. I thought it'd be a nice treat to have someone else do them for her. First thing I noticed, they didn't prep her nails properly. When the tech finished they looked good. Not great compared to what Ive seen...but they were good. So I ignored it and we paid her. $130 after tip. Within hours her nails started popping off. By the end of the night, she had 4 nails left. She always has long acrylics so she knows how to maneuver with them on. Never had it happen when she did her own or the several times I've had them professionally done for her. Overall, so disappointed! We basically just threw $130 dollars in the trash. The nails have to be prepped properly or they won't adhere to your nail underneath. Definitely do not recommend unless you're okay with throwing money away and getting sub par work! read more

It's small place but I liked it. Since I lived in west side and you get pretty spoiled with good services with great price nail places, I yelped quite a long time to look for places. Most places were so expensive compare with west side. Parking entrance located kind of award. I went circle few times before found it but I'm ok with that.. It's always better when they have parking. Spa mani-pedi for $25, GREAT in this area and they've done a good job. Girls were very friendly. They do some waxing too. If you are looking for decent job with good price, you might want to check this one. read more

I took the advice of other reviews and tried this place out. I am REALLY glad I took the others advice and did it. The place is very small and only 2 women work there - Rose and Lynne. Lynne owns the store and Rose is her sister. They were so nice, spoke great English and really took their time. I think it's different then most nail salon - no actual pedicure chairs but I think I got a better pedicure then any other place I have tried around here PLUS the pedicure is only $16 while a manicure is just $10. You can pay extra money to get a longer foot massage (I think $1 a minute) and it's totally worth it. I would make an appointment - I called early afternoon and they saw me later in the afternoon but since the shop is so small it would be better instead of just walking in. Hope this review helps! I definately wanted to review this place when I went last summer but had totally forgotten. The girls there are nice and will fill you in on their Asian soap operas as they do your mani/pedi. The salon is pretty small with just a few chairs and when u went in a Tuesday afternoon there were only two technicians there. The only cons were that I felt like the manicure itself wasn't as great as it shouldve been. It started chipping that same day! I didn't notice when I left but when I got home I saw air bubbles underneath the polish. :/ I wouldn't necessarily recommend this place but it's an ok nail salon and from what I remember it was cheap read more

I found this tiny little place by searching on the web. What a pleasant surprise! The sisters are so sweet and very friendly. Appointments only and there are only two of them. Parking is behind the store (access is next to the black martial arts building) or on the street. Rosy's knowledge of nails was great, she told me things I had never known. I had her wax my eyebrows while I was there and she threw in a mini back massage that was great for a last minute deal! I will definitely be back and will recommend it to my friends. Rose is great! I have been coming to her for a while now and she always does a great job. I actually had ingrown toenail surgery which didn't take well and it left me with part of a mail that needs to be cut every few Weeks or so. The Dr after several attempts said to just get pedicures to fix it at this point. I had fine to other people and always worried how they would handle my toe problem. Rose is always great with them and my toes look wonderful. My grandma and mom also see Rose and love her. I now have a baby and am able to bring her with me to the shop. She is very.friendly and loves kids. The place is small but Rose is the best! read more

i went to Cindy's because of the review and because i always pass by it. I was really please that when i went there it was 15 mins till closing and she still took me. I went in for a simple ped/mani. The lady was really nice and talkative. I don't mind talkative people but when it comes to a service for me (hair cut or nails) I worry that they are not focusing on me. They get to carry away about what they are saying and they are not paying attention to their work. That was how I felt. She talked the whole time and i now know the history of there shop and who owns all the shops on that street and I saw her family album and why they didn't change the name of the shop after it was sold to her and her sister. At the end it really boils down to my nails. I feel bad for saying this because she was sooo nice. But I was surprise to see that not one of my toes nails was cut straight. I could have done a better job left handed( I examine my toes after a pedi) I was really not happy with the work. But she was such a nice lady. So I would give her a 5 star for service and a 2 star for her work. Sorry! read more

My wife and daughter went to this place and I must say that this place is clean and the sisters (Rose and Lynne) that run it are as sweet as can be. They are prices are fair. What I love about this place is unlike other nail shops, they speak in english. Other places I've taking my wife and daughter too they are all talking smack about their customers. I'm Vietnamese but don't look it so I hear what they are saying. Rose, the older sister cracks me up she is an older lady but a bit on the crazy side. This is a small, inexpensive place that does not have all of the bells and whistles of more high-end salons. Most important, it is clean, and the owner/manicurist is very experienced and extremely personable. They also do waxing. Business is slow right now, so a walk-in is possible, but with only one worker it is better to make an appointment. Small businesses like this need our patronage! read more

I've been goiong to Rose at Cindy's nails for at least 6 yrs now. I drive from Orange County just to go there. I used to live in the South Bay when I started seeing Rose so when I moved to the OC to be closer to work I just couldn't give up my bi-monthly visits to my ol' pal Rose (and her sister Lynn). Rose is the best. I have tried other salons in the OC but I keep coming back to the the best - CINDYS NAILS. I don't mind the 45 min drive down to see Rose and Lynn. They care about their customers. They welcome the entire family (and remember their names too). Prices are fair and the work they do is awesome. The shop is clean. read more

I have been a customer of Cindy's Nails for many years. I agreed with the SW reviewer. These sisters work hard at this business and just because someone talks, doesn't mean they aren't doing a good job. If you aren't happy with their work, you can tell them right then or go back later and ask them to fix it. They will take me at a minute's notice as long as they don't have an appt. coming up. I've been to other nail salons, and I see the difference in prices, quality and care. These girls speak English better than other nail salons where English is their 2nd language. They never speak their 1st language in front of me, while at other salons I have struggled to understand them, they talk to each other in their own language, and/or they don't talk to me at all. Cindy's Nails is a very family friendly place, and I highly recommend it. A one time visit is not enough to really rate a place fairly. Also, you can't beat their prices. read more
