I came with some new friends we met at the the waitress that is taking care of us is named Lisa she's amazing, sweet and welcoming very knowledgeable. She was very happy to hear that we were looking for gluten-free options. It's not a gluten-free restaurant, but they definitely have a few nice options. I felt very welcomed. The ambience is kind of chain style. Service was quick and friendly i've lived in Oakdale for almost 7 years have never once entered that restaurant kind of turned my nose up at it as basic, but it's very good. I have always passed by this restaurant on the way to The Chicken Ranch Casino and have always wanted to try. Finally got the chance! It was Sunday so I expected it to be busy and it was but we were seated within 10 minutes. Our drink orders were taken and recv'd but our orders for food took atleast 20 minutes. Thecwaitress was very apologetic so we didnt mind. Food was served promptly and it was good! It was very busy and noisy and got even busier as we were leaving. Ladies who work here are very nice. I'm just not the biggest fan of their food. I ordered the chile verde omelette. And a barley soup to go . My grandma had the pancakes with bacon. I had a cup of coffee for my drink. Coffee was absolutely horrible!! Yuck ! I put French vanilla creamer in it and it still was bad. 1st time they brought me my coffee it was not warm. So the waitress brought me a new cup and it was piping hot, but unfortunately still tasted bad. The omelette had way too much cheese and just didn't taste good. My grandma enjoyed her pancakes but her bacon was not cooked enough. Barley soup later tasted bland so I ended up not eating it . Cost us over $50 for our food. This was our first time and the food didn't disappoint. We were there or breakfast and there were so many options. I ended up with the eggs/bacon/fruit bowl. Fruit was fresh and really good. Eggs good, bacon was good just slightly over cooked for me. I know everyone has their preference. I still ate 2 of the 4 pieces our server was so cute and I forgot her name but she was so excited when we told her it was our first time there. She was giving us all the recommendations of what was good and decent. The down fall of this place. People who talk on speaker phone. It's so annoying. We were in a booth and could hear it on the other side of the room from where we sat. The other thing and I wish the restaurant would have enforced it, was people bringing their dogs ( not service) into the place and them laying under the table. There is a sign right when you come in the says "no pets, no shoes, no service". Yet the dog was in there under a table where the lady was talking so loud to the other in party in the same booth. This place has changed. We have been going here for 2 years now and nothing tastes the same and quality of food is down. Staff- hit and miss. When they get busy, they forget about you or refill on coffee while waiting is a no. some portions look like kids size when they arrive. As a new resident of Oakdale I found Cindy's to be a great place to grab a well prepared meal at a reasonable price. The staff, most notably Lisa always stops by each table with a smile and pictures of the daily specials prepared by the cook for consideration. All staff are just as pleasant, Lisa seems to set the tone of a friendly neighborhood business. To top it off every meal I have ordered has been top notch. Well done congratulations. read more

Went to Cindy's and really enjoyed the food. The waitress and staff were very attentive and friendly. I had the San Joaquin Burger and my partner had the Deluxe Chicken Burger... the jalapeño on my San Joaquin Burger was SPICY! So if you don't like spice, don't order that or just don't add it. The place is clean, but very dated, that's the only negative I would say.. otherwise it is a great spot and I definitely plan to continue going. read more

New to town. Have been here a few times. I must say, Lisa is a gem. Absolutely love this woman. Her personality and passion for where she works is incredible. I especially love how she points out the special board and shows the food pictures on her phone. She makes you feel so welcome and part of the family. The service was terrible, I understand that they were busy when we first got there, but after a while the crowd die down. Our waiter never once came to see or explain why it was taking so long. Not once did they refill our coffee while we waited. And when our food did come it was the smallest French toast I had ever seen. It was a joke. I have been going to Cindy's restaurant for years . Recently We stopped going because they raise their prices and cut out the free coffee for seniors. I can see raising the prices, but I think giving seniors free coffee was a big plus now they are one of the most expensive places in town for breakfast for seniors we were a bit disappointed. It costs senior six dollars more per breakfast :( very disappointed, I did enjoy their breakfasts. I wish they would reconsider their decision to remove free coffee for seniors. read more

Had brunch on Sunday-and fabulous! All your brunch favorites and some with hispanic influence. Plentiful, tasty and fresh and excellent service even for our larger party of 8. Great value and they had a senior menu for those with smaller appetite. Highly recommend for this popular locals spot. read more

But we did wait about 20 minutes for our order to be taken and that was after I got up and asked for somebody to come over and help us. I used to come to eat an order my lunch got work. The last few times I've come or order my food. I get put on hold for 20 minutes or get hung up on. Then by the time I get my food sometimes it's cold. I went in a few days ago ordered a Philly Cheese Stake sandwich with Fries and extra ranch an soda. My Total came out to almost $26 for one meal. My mouth bout dropped. I've been coming here for a year almost. Never have I paid that much. When I opened my food it wasn't even worth $26 it was little fries and my sandwich had big chunks of meat and hella cheese hardly anything else in it. Then I noticed that the younger man took out a tip that I didn't otherwise at all. 3 times that has happened. I was a server for 6yrs at different places and Cindy's you guys need to retrain your lunch server and Dinner. My Grandma food was very cold and the server wasn't paying attention and spilled soda all over my Grandma and her food. When asked to see if there was anything they can do. They just moved us didn't even bring out a new drink. Didn't ask if she wanted new food. We HAD TO ASK FOR A NEW DRINK. Then Ask to see the menu again. THEN SHE CHANGED US FOR BOTH MEALS. SO WHEN I ASKED IF THEY CAN COMP US SINCE MY GRANDMA FOOD WAS RUINED. The Server Gave me a different look. I asked to speak to a Manager she told me there no manager. I know one of the Cooks.
