Took three weeks for a simple bed spread and when I took it out of the bag it had lint all over one corner. Had pants hemmed took three weeks to the very minute. when I picked up they found them wadded up with other people's dirty clothes. They tried to hand to me all wadded up and dirty!! I asked for dry cleaning and pressed when dropped off. That must of got lost in translation. Got back wadded up with dog hair all over the pants. I would not recommend this cleaners. They lost my items three times. I had my receipt. I was told "unable to locate in the computer", by both Patricia and some other lady worker. This place was recommended but the experience I had was not up to par. I stopped by to pick up my clothes, that was ready the day before. When I arrived I was handed items that were not mine. They proceeded to search through the computer and through the multiple pieces they had. I returned about two hours later to my items barely getting cleaned. Cinema Cleaners was my go-to place for dry cleaning until several months ago. I had a pair of pants and a skirt that I needed to have tailored so I decided to give Cinema Cleaners a try for tailoring. The items were slightly too tight. I tried on the garments and the tailor was looking at them and said I should just lose a few pounds so they would fit me better. This should have been my first clue to walk away but unfortunately, I actually considered what he was saying as truth. I left the garments to be altered. When I picked them up the next week, he had done a beautiful job with the skirt. It was perfect. The pants however were made much too large. I showed it to him and he hemmed and hawed but agreed to fix them. I took the skirt home. When I came back the following week, with my 9 year old son for the pick up, the pants fit but the zipper and button closure were off center. I pointed it out to the tailor and he refused to fix it. He said he didn't see it as a problem. I couldn't believe that he flat out refused to acknowledge it or make it right so I asked to speak with the manager. When I explained the issue to manager-and showed him the issue (I was still wearing the pants and lifted up my shirt to show him and everyone else in the store) he too flat out said he didn't see the problem and refused to fix it. I was standing there in shock. And to make matters even worse, he asked the whole staff to come forward and agree with him-which they did. I had about 7-8 adults telling me they didn't see that the zipper was off center. My son was standing next to me asking me why everyone was lying. I didn't know what to say. Eventually, I said some people don't have pride in their work and don't care if things are done properly. I changed clothes and told the manager I wouldn't be coming back. After we left, I explained to my son what gaslighting was and how we just experienced it. This made me feel so hurt and upset afterwards. I had been a customer of Cinema Cleaners for years. I'm in that shopping center often and it always gives me a hurt feeling when I see the shop. It has taken me months to write this but was inspired after I saw another post about another customer service fail. read more

I've come to Cinema Cleaners for alterations a handful of times over the years and been happy with the work. This time, I brought in a down jacket with one sleeve section that had torn and lost filling. I asked the tailor if he could re-fill it and sew it back up. He confidentially said yes. I asked again to make sure he heard/understood me correctly, and he confirmed. He quoted me $15, and I triple-checked "to fill and fix?" Again, yes. So I happily pre-paid. When I picked it up, the woman at the register (Patty) was friendly. I noticed the tear was sewn (unfortunately, with bright magenta thread on a burgundy jacket), but it had not been filled. I pointed this out, and the tailor was genuinely confused, and I realized he actually didn't understand that I had wanted him to fill it. Patty discussed the situation with the tailor in Spanish. She firmly concluded to me that the tailor wasn't able to fill it because he didn't have the material so it is what it is. I asked for a refund because the service I'd repeatedly discussed with the tailor was for filling and then fixing. Patty immediately raised her voice and scolded me, "We can't do that work! You KNEW we couldn't do that! We are not a fabric store! That's common sense!" She literally yelled at me (in front of another customer) for a complete misunderstanding between her tailor and me. She kept interrupting me with scolding while I tried to assure her, "I did not know, but now I understand. I don't work in your industry so I don't know these things, which is why I asked the question to your tailor many times. I see now that we have had a misunderstanding." It really felt like we'd switched places, and I was the service provider trying to calm a volatile customer. My boyfriend came in to check on me since a simple pick-up was taking so long. When I summarized the facts of the situation to him, Patty and the tailor directed their defensive arguments to a sudden male presence. I had to interrupt them to establish that my boyfriend does not control my money or my decisions, and I am the one who wants a refund. Patty said if I wanted a refund, the tailor would reopen the tear again. I agreed to that, and the tailor looked absolutely heartbroken to have to undo all his hard work. It was an all around crappy situation indeed. My boyfriend and I left and vented in the parking lot. When we started to pull our car away, the tailor waved us back in. Patty granted my refund after all because they decided "it's not worth the waste of time to reopen the tear." Nothing about it being the right thing for a business to do when your employee mistakenly agrees to do something he actually can't do. Unfortunately, the tailor's stitching was already partially undone so it looks even worse than when I first brought it in. As the other Yelp reviews note, Patty's perfectly nice when you're happy, but her customer service skills are awful if you have any problems to raise. Omg this place was a life saver for me bought a gown from Windsor and I'm pregnant so I got it in a large thought it would fit me but wouldn't zip up all the way so I took it to this place first time being there the man that does alterations came up to me and asked me what I wanted to do I was clueless just told him my situation and right away he came up with a solution he was able to find extra fabric he had laying around and matched my dress perfectly so he attached extra fabric to it when I went to pick it up I tried it on and it fit like a glove couldn't even tell this dress was altered at all , great service ! I brought my dad to pick up his clothes due to his car not working. I was in a rush as it was unexpected that his car had an issue and I would need to take him. His clothes were supposed to be ready at 3pm and we arrived at 5pm and of course it wasn't ready. The man kept saying come back in 30 minutes because the older guy was working on it, but I could clearly see the older guy was talking and laughing and not working on my fathers pants. The man just left and started doing other things so I asked if he could work on the pants or help the other customer, but guess what, this man said he's not qualified to do either. Several other people came in and they were looking and looking for the clothes and had difficulty finding them. They need a better system to locate clothing and they need to ensure that the clothes are ready when they say they will be. Also, their customer service needs to be a lot better. No apologies or offer of compensation for making me late due to them being untimely. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place as there are way better cleaners and if you need one just go to the one by Marshall's and Quizno's in Culver City. read more

I went in for an alteration of the elastic band on my Brand new Mickey Mouse Crop Sweatshirt. They charged me $15.00 for the altercation Everything was fine until I noticed the waist was not taken in as much as I needed it to be. With a busy work schedule I wasn't able to take it back in until early December I had spoken with the girl at the front desk and she said we will charge you half the price to alter the piece. Since I had originally dropped off the garment on Oct. 24th She said it's going to be $12 I had believed $7 would have been a decent and fair price. I told her I was originally charged $15. She clearly could not count and didn't offer me the reduced price like she had said. I had asked for a business card and they did not have any. Luckily I saved my receipt to give this review. The gentleman that worked on my sweater did not seem pleased to have to work on my sweater. I had to grab a safety pin from the floor to try and pin the sweater where I needed it to be pinned myself. When I had asked a friend to help me that's when the gentleman decided to attempt to pin the sweater for me. He kept pulling the elastic more than needed and I told him I didnt want it that tight. I showed him how I wanted it by holding the fabric for him and he kept pulling the elastic to be more tight. Long story short he didnt seem like he was pleased to do his job. I felt unwelcomed and uncomfortable with the services not provided. read more

I used to really like these guys, they were nice and did a pretty good job. But I'm pretty much over them at this point. Reason being, I brought some shirts in for laundry and asked them to fix a couple of buttons. And one shirt had a stain, which I asked them to treat. They didn't write anything down, but verbally assured me it would be taken care of. Picked them up, big surprise, buttons weren't addressed and the stain wasn't treated. So I had to raise a stink and they said they would deal with it. Wound up actually throwing away the stained shirt. But, I went ahead and dropped off a jacket and also asked them to fix the button. A week goes buy, I go back to pick up my shirts and jacket. Shirts were finally done. Jacket, not touched. Again, now I have to raise a stink, and was late to work because of it. Instead of apologizing, the guy who runs the place started talking over me and telling me all about how I'm wrong to ask for the button to be fixed, and how I don't know about jackets. I'm like, whatever man, give me my jacket and I'll go have somebody else do it. I don't need a lecture because you guys didn't do your job twice in a row. Bottom line, they can do the basics OK. But anything above and beyond, forget about it. read more

I took my wedding dress here with 14 days to go before the big day and was told that the alterations were simple and the dress would be ready to pick up in a week. A week later, I went to pick up my dress and no alterations had been made. To add insult to injury, the dress was left in a plastic garment bag, touching the floor. My dress was wrinkled, filthy, and left with holes in it from where it had been pinned for a week. I asked "was anyone going to call me about this?" and the woman working there had nothing to say except "well, maybe we can get to your dress by Tuesday." I thanked her for the lackluster vote of confidence, reminded her that this wasn't a pair of pajamas-it's my wedding dress. I took my dress to the Nordstrom in Santa Monica and they did an emergency alteration without hesitation. read more
