I was only person at bar both nights, one night later on had another person at the bar which they seem to know, and second night 3 others came and they seem to know them too. Anyways, if you want to dress up and be around pretentious people or waiters/bartenders who are like that ...come on down. First off ...dry aged steak had no taste, dbl baked was weird. Came here for my birthday. As other reviewers mentioned, this place can get "loud". I wish designers would think about the acoustics of a restaurant when dining. All you need is one party to ruin your dining experience. Our server Dillon was outstanding. Think of every good adjective for a server, and he was it. The food was great. Apps: -Charred Spanish Octopus: Tender, tender, tender. I would say it was the best dish of the evening. -Salt Roasted Beet Salad: I'm a sucker for a beet salad. Did not disappoint. -Big Eye Tuna: Honestly, I liked the fancy wasabi pastry over the ahi more than anything. That is not to say the ahi wasn't good. It was. Just the elegance of the dish was beautiful, and to work the Wasabi into that pastry was creative and brilliant. Main Dish: -Duck: Hubby said it's the best duck he's ever had. -Rigatoni Bolognese: Really good. Flavor was very balanced. Protein was veal, so how can you go wrong? Sides: -Twice Baked Potato: Huge, yummy and creamy. No regrets. -Roasted Cauliflower: Recommended by Dillon. Again, no regrets. So tasty. Hubby jot crazy over cauliflower, but he loved this one. Dessert: -Panna Cotta: if you have oom, this is a very nice way to end your meal. Light and delish. I left out my excellent choice of wine and ice cream, only cause this review is getting too long for me. BOTTOM LINE: I almost gave Cino FOUR stars because remember my first line of this review...it was my birthday. Hostess knew and stated so once hubby gave his name. They knew it was my birthday, but I never got my birthday dessert like the other birthday girl sitting next to us. Either the message wasn't passed on to Dillon, or he forgot. About a month ago, I stopped by CINO for drinks and fell in love with their Mexican coffee cocktail, the Carajillo. Forward a month and I finally had dinner with friends at this lively and trendy Italian restaurant located in Ward on the street level of the 'A'ali'i condos. Fun fact, CINO is a sister restaurant to Café Duck Butt, DB Grill, and Mad Bene. This time I started with the Laguna Rosa. It was light and refreshing, but I prefer the wow that came with the Carajillo. My friend and I shared the Charred Spanish Octopus and the Crispy Rice which were both tasty. I ordered the Herb Pappardelle for my entree, but had a bite of my friend's Rigatoni Bolognese and wished I had ordered that instead. The Herb Pappardelle is served with a wild boar ragu that was tasty, but I liked the tender and flavor of the veal, beef, and pork bolognese more.   It was a very busy night, but our server was great and attentive. We sat in the section closer to the outside seating and it was pretty noisy (us included) so if you are looking for a more intimate setting, recommend you request a table closer to the bar. read more

My relatives were visiting from the mainland and it was the perfect time since we can celebrate my mom's birthday together. We booked a table for 7 people a few days after my mom's birthday since we were all free on the weekend. The restaurant located in Ward right across the street from Nori and a few doors down from Planted. The interior was beautiful. The place has a classy and romantic vibe to it and we had high hopes that this would be a great place to celebrate a special occasion...or not. Crab cakes: There were 3 mini crab cakes on top of fresh tomatoes and a dollop of basil aioli. The crab cakes were pretty tiny. It's like the size of your index and thumb finger to shape a circle. It was good and the tomatoes on the bottom were fresh and delicious. It's has a nice and refreshing taste. Dozen oysters: There were 12 raw oysters that were small to medium sizes and 2 different types of sauces. The oysters were fresh. I did have a couple where there was a little crunch of sand/dirt in the oysters. The sauces were cocktail sauce and what I assume fish sauce with garlic. Both were good with the oysters. Otoro tuna: The otoro was presented beautifully. The otoro however doesn't look fatty or marbled. The otoro I've tried has a light pinkish color. This one was red and looked more lean like a maguro. It was fresh but didn't have the melt in your mouth texture that otoro usually are. Crispy rice: This has hamachi and avocado mousse. This was pretty good. The aioli drizzle and the avocado mousse were delicious. The crispy rice was nicely crispy and not hard to bite into. Crab spaghetti: The crab spaghetti has a fair amount of uni on top. The taste wasn't what I expected to be. It has a pretty unbalanced mixture of saltiness and citrus taste. Not much umami flavor. I guess I hyped myself up regarding this pasta dish since it is their most recommended. Rigatoni bolognese: Ok, a couple of my relatives got this dish and they gave some to me. We were all disappointed. It tasted so close to Zippy's spaghetti meat sauce but with rigatoni. This dish was nothing special. Campanelle: One of my relative's girlfriend ordered this. She said it was "plain tasting". The pesto was pretty generic and there were hardly any Italian sausages as described on their menu. She couldn't finish this dish. Veal Osso Bucco: The veal was tender but it was hardly seasoned. It was tender and moist enough to fall from the bone. The meat was pretty lean. It tasted similar to pork. The saffron risotto was just okay. The risotto wasn't creamy as I would have liked and it looked like it was sitting in oil. There wasn't much saffron flavor. I tried saffron pasta from other Italian restaurants and they were exceptional. The saffron risotto here was disappointing. Twice baked potato: This came out 10 minutes after we finished all our entrees. We had to asked a different server if they forgot about this order. The presentation looked great. Hearty, delicious, flavorful. However, we got the exact opposite of what we were expecting. The baked potato hardly has any seasoning, butter, or sour cream to flavor it. The toppings helped but it was gone after 3 scoops. The rest of the potato just tasted like plain baked potato once there weren't any more toppings. Overall, we were pretty underwhelmed and disappointed. The appetizers were great but when it came to the entrees it gone all downhill. The service here was also terrible. Our server was rude and seems judgmental of our party's order "amount". We didn't get any drinks or much appetizers since we all shared an order of crab cakes, oysters, otoro and hamachi. But we did got 6 entree orders for each of us (a couple shared 1 entree). He also didn't acknowledged my mom's birthday when he asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion. He just plainly said "oh" and changed the topic when we answered him. He also missed an order for one of my relative's girlfriend so she had to wave another server down to place an order. After we placed our orders, we never saw our server again. He never came by to check up on us or refill our waters. We had to asked the busser to refill them. We saw him served other tables just fine, but just not for us. Once we were done, he came by for the check, didn't thank us for coming and then just left again. When we left, the path to the entrance door was pretty narrow. A server and the hostess were chatting by the hostess podium and he accidentally stepped on my foot. He turned around and said "oops" but didn't apologize and just left. The hostess also saw what happened but didn't say anything and didn't thank us for dining there when we left through the door. Cino has the look and feel of a place that should impress, but unfortunately, the food did not live up to the expectations. I wanted to like it. The atmosphere was stylish, the menu read well, and the service was decent--but the actual dishes fell flat. Everything we ordered was just okay, and in some cases, not even that. Flavors were muted, textures felt off, and nothing stood out as memorable or crave-worthy. For a restaurant that presents itself as elevated, the execution was surprisingly lackluster. It felt like the kitchen was playing it safe, and the result was a series of forgettable bites. Ingredients did not taste fresh, and plating looked rushed. I have had better meals at casual cafes with half the fuss. Service was polite and attentive enough, but when the food does not deliver, great service can only do so much. If you are looking for a place with nice lighting and decent ambiance, Cino might work. If you are coming for an outstanding meal, you may want to keep looking. The world food tour resumed at Cino, in the 'A'ali'i Condominium. The address is listed as Queen Street but the restaurant is actually on Halekauwila St. As you enter, you see the bar and you turn left into the area with tables on each side of a long aisle. We were seated at a table for two adjacent to the open kitchen. The menu comes on individual sheets of paper; one for food; the others are for cocktails, wines by the glass and a wine list (by the bottle). I selected a Heitz cabernet but our server (RJ) brought a bottle of 2018 Hamel Nuns Canyon Vineyard in Sonoma ($295) offering it to us for the price of the Heitz ($215). It was an earthy, dark ruby wine with notes of black fruit, leather and chocolate. We selected Beef Tartare ($24), consisting of cubed Creekstone Farm's filet mignon and capers topped with an egg yolk emulsion, served with tapioca puffs (visually similar to shrimp chips) and the Crispy Rice ($22): Hamachi, avocado mousse, sesame-soy, sliced Serrano chili and dollops of caviar atop rectangles of crisped rice (think a 1-inch square, rectangular French Fry). The tartare was good but I wanted a little more seasoning and we would have preferred bread instead of the tapioca puffs. The Crispy Rice was delicious. We both felt the dishes were good but subtly seasoned, similar to dishes in Japan. We shared the Cino Pinwheel ($77) and the 25oz, 60-day dry aged ribeye ($88). The pinwheel was handmade pasta rolled up with cheese and grated truffle filling and served in a yellowish sauce with 3gms of truffle shavings. The aroma of truffles was intoxicating! The ribeye was disappointing; It was cooked past medium rare (more like medium) and I failed to detect the nuttiness I find in dry aged steaks, especially one aged more than 45 days. Grilled asparagus with an olive tapenade and lemon was our vegetable ($15). Dessert was a beautifully presented piece of Tiramisu ($14). My tablemate wanted more coffee and chocolate flavoring. Like our appetizers, it was subtly flavored. I had one bite and satisfied myself with a nice cup of coffee ($6). The restaurant was busy but service was fine. We liked our dishes except for the ribeye. If we return, we will choose another entrée. I will rate this experience at 4; less than expected for $583. A guarded recommendation. read more

We came here for our anniversary because I love pasta and they have it here! There's not a lot of great Italian restaurants here so I was very excited. When we got there, everyone was so nice. They even placed flowers on our table and congratulated us. So nice. Our waitress was so nice and helpful. I was going to order the bolognese but she convinces me to try the herb pappardelle and I'm glad I tried it! It was really good. But I still want to go back to try the bolognese! My husband got the pork chop and said it was really good. We also got the crispy potatoes on the side but we were pretty full and couldn't finish them all. When my friend told me he was taking me here I was over the moon! I lulled myself to sleep the night before looking at photos, as if a sweet bedtime story. Now, the thought of this place has kept me up for the last few nights. Think Cinderella without her fairy godmother. Not horrible but not magical. Who am I kidding, without her Cinderella may not have had a chance with her Prince! I don't like writing negative reviews but I think feedback can help others expectations and maybe even the restaurant, too. As we were getting settled into our seats, I dropped my menu and the waitstaff picked it up and put it back on the table. No big deal but well noted. I grew up in the schoolyard and work in the Lo'i so I'm not scared of dirt, just found it interesting in such a fine establishment. When the opportunity is ripe, I like to start my dinner with bubbles! But looking at the menu the cocktails looked too well crafted to pass up! When our waitress came by initially I didn't know what I wanted to drink and I was surprised to sense annoyance/irritation on her end. Our reservation was at 7, we were on time and I didn't quite understand but chalked it up to people having their own things going on and didn't take it too personally. My friend was nice enough to let me choose our beverages, letting me pick the one I preferred out of two. I ended up thoroughly enjoying the Marrakesh Express! The waitress warned me of the tomato flavor but I found it rather delightful! More tomato, please! The crystalized Maldon sea salt garnish was a great direction with the sweetness of the honey in this "savory" cocktail. But was rather crunchy and kind of challenging to lick up and enjoy. I'd like to note the importance for a server to meet the guest where they are! I mean it's a stance we should take in handling people with care, which is part of hospitality, no? When I took a sip of the second cocktail I saw her approaching the table but the beverage may have gone down the wrong pipe or something because I started coughing uncontrollably. She stepped away and never came by to ask if I was okay or how the beverages were. Maybe she didn't care. Probably not. She came back to excite us about the menu and though presented very sweetly it felt robotic. I was confirmed when she had the exact same spiel with the table that sat next to us. When we only ordered oysters to start, I sensed irritation again and I kindly let her know we'd like to take our time. The Kumamoto oysters were SO SWEET AND ONO. They were no where close to in need of the shallot mignonette or cocktail sauce! Pure delicacies! We put in the rest of the order and they all came out to the table at once! It would've been nice to enjoy the pasta and then enjoy the main and sides. Then she kept coming by trying to clear our plates and get us boxes. The second time she asked my friend had his fork in his hand going for another bite. Maybe she wanted to be done with us. Maybe she had a rough day. Just really left us feeling like we were in the way or something. In my late night scrolling I noticed the pinwheel pasta and the amazing shaved truffles on past photos. Though intrigued I swayed away from the dish because of the price. But our waitress did a good job exciting us about this special and my friend was eager to indulge, too! Unfortunately, we were both very disappointed. The pasta was hard/cakey like pasta that was left out for too long before serving. When I asked the waitress about the difference between the photo and what we had, she said the photo was of winter truffles and the one we were given were summer truffles. Hmm.. maybe we would've been happier with the Wild Boar Pappardelle. Apparently they source from the Big Island! Very cool! When it came to dessert my friend remembered the last time he was here they ordered tiramisu and it looked nothing like the photo. He said the dish in front of them looked as if they bought it from a grocery store. When they asked the waitstaff they said the reason it looked different is that they just got a new distributor for their tiramisu. So they don't make their dessert? I don't know man, def not magical. Do they say they make their pasta and buy it too? Ok, that was kind of mean but kind of funny. Haha man, where is this review going? We didn't order dessert. They have beautiful decor, especially the bathrooms! Ok, this wrap up ain't looking too pretty. I'm having a hard time with this because I really do see greatness in this restaurant. We ventured to Cino because we were looking forward to a magical evening where we could enjoy an elevated experience. We made it home a little perplexed. We even called each other after like, "wut was that?" My friend is familiar with delicacies and even remarked that he had never heard someone say the truffles don't shave, they crumble. Happy New Year! I'm starting off my 2024 with a review of Cino. I absolutely adore this place. It gives off a chic and sophisticated vibe. The service was excellent. Our waiter rattled off a long list of specials and checked on us a few times. The bussers wiped off the table after each course. We ordered the tuna tartare $24, crab spaghetti $38, miso charred butterfish $38, a side of white rice $5 and a glass of Marrakesh Express $18. White rice isn't on the menu, but they have it. The Marrakesh Express tasted like it had ginger in it, but it didn't. It has tomato, honey and lemon listed in the ingredients. The tuna tartare had a wasabi tuile on the top. There was nothing wasabi about it. It tasted like a straight butter cookie. The ahi was nice and firm. The soy ceviche brought out the freshness of the fish. The crab spaghetti had a piece of uni on the top and in the sauce. The miso butterfish had great flavor and was buttery smooth. It wasn't overly charred. Both entrees were excellent, but I'll declare the miso butterfish the winner. read more

Everything was great here! Yes, it is pricey. No doubt. However, depending on your mood and appetitie for prices and food, you can still get a high level of value and food in this place. The specials are expensive, however, I have yet to see any other place have anything similar enough to it. If you like to try unique items, check this place out. The service was great - it was really loud at our table, and they moved us to a quiter booth. The waiters/waitress were also attentive and explained the menu well. The grilled octopus was really tasty. Star was the wagyu special. Yes, it is really steep, however, comparable to other high end steak places. The meat was super tender and was something that you would savor and remember. Truffle pasta was truffle-centric. There was no shorting of truffle. Really loved this place. There is plenty of parking in the building and also the surrounding buildings. The host was very attentive. We had a last-minute headcount change that they were able to accommodate and seated us at the bar until our table was ready. Our waiter was the bomb,he explained the dishes, made recommendations, and let us know generally how many people a dish could feed. Now, to the food, we probably ate half of what was on the menu. From oysters to the caprese, to duck confit, to the tomahawk steak, it was all delicious. Finished the meal with Gelato. Everyone loved their mixed drinks, and the beer was cold. Went to celebrate here with my bf for my birthday and we can't wait to go back. I was really sad to find out they don't do the prime rib anymore but we went in really wanting to try the. Crab spaghetti and I'm still thinking about it! Asked for a reccommendation and the waitress said they featured their pork chop in an interview so we got that. The octopus was also really good. The crab cakes were super tiny I wasn't expecting that so I wouldn't get it again. And their birthday freebie was gelato :) I didn't like that they didn't have a dessert "menu" she just told us and we didn't know how much any of them were but the tiramisu was good but tasted more like a chocolate mousse then tiramisu. Cino brings sophisticated dining to a continuously growing area! The restaurant is across the street from the new Nori Bar. Parking is located in the building parking lot or you can park in the Whole Foods or D&B parking structures. The interior of the restaurant gives off a laidback, chic vibe. Perfect for a nice dinner spot. The service was great. The food came out fairly quickly and the waiter made sure to check up on us frequently. While waiting for our table, I enjoyed a well-crafted Espresso Martini at the bar. The food was delicious. We started our meal off with the Charred Spanish Octopus, Beef Tartare, Caprese, and Tuna Tartare. Each dish was perfectly executed. For the main course we ordered the Crab Spaghetti with Caviar, Pea Agnolotti, House-Aged Half Roast Duck, Pork Chop, Ribeye, and the special of the night a delicious Truffle Lasagna. My favorites were the Pea Agnolotti, Duck, and the Truffle Lasagna. The duck reminded me of being back in France! I'll definitely be back! read more

Ward is really popping with all these new developments and restaurants! My wallet may not be ready but my stomach sure is :) Our waiter was so informative about each dish on the menu that he sold my friend into changing his order! We got our own things but sampled each other's: Tuna Tartare: Whatever you thought you knew about Tuna Tartare, throw it out the window cause it definitely wasn't what we expected. It was good but not exactly a shareable plate; we got about a bite between the three of us Crispy Potatoes: Perfect for sharing; nice crisp and good flavor Filet Migon: Nice and tender; no complaints from my friend Crab Uni Spaghetti: I really enjoyed this dish! They gave a decent amount of crab and the uni was fresh. It was more on the tangier side which could be due to the dill but because it had a strong citrus flavor, I almost thought I ordered a yuzu pasta. I personally didn't mind because I enjoy those kinds of flavor Special of the Day (Branzino): I typically don't care for cooked fish dishes much but this was delicious! What a wonderful place to start my first review of 2024 - Cino. I loved that although this is a fine dining restaurant, it had a casual trendy feel where some dressed semi formal while others used jeans and sneakers. There were 7 of us in our party and we ate family style where we shared all the food. Everything that I had was superb - especially the truffle lasagna which was one of their specials and the pea agnolotti (some on our table do not usually like peas and kept going back for more of this dish). We all left very full, satisfied and happy from the food and conversation. I would recommend this restaurant for a special event or if you want to eat food with an elevated experience. read more

My boyfriend surprised me with reservations at Cino for my birthday. I wonder if he used Yelp to help him find this spot? I'm usually the person that makes reservations in our relationship so I'm very pleasantly surprised that he found this restaurant. Located in the Ward area, across from the Victoria Ward park. There is free Ward shopping center parking close by but you do have to walk just a bit. The interior is cool -- kinda giving art nouveau. I will say that it can get a bit loud inside, at least from where we were sitting. There was a lot of "HUH!" "What did you say again?" in our dinner conversations. For food we ordered: Lamb ragu pappardelle- fresh pasta and a creamy dollop of ricotta. Crispy rice- this is one of my favorite bites of the night - super crispy rice - almost like a hash brown, topped with hamachi and caviar. Beef tartare - the tapioca puff made of a bit hard to eat since it was easily breakable. I think it would've paired better with a nice piece of bread but overall it was good (if you're into this kinda thing)! Okay, this is where it gets a little confusing. Because I'm now sure that I ordered the romaine salad, it's something that I saw pictures of on Yelp before ordering. It was something I was set on but instead of the salad, the charred octopus was put on our table. I mentioned to the person who put the octopus on our table that I wasn't sure if we ordered that, although she wasn't our server she was confident that we ordered the octopus. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise because the octopus was very good! I was just hoping to pair the pasta and salad together. And then it got a bit more confusing, after we had ate our meal- our server came up - put some more utensils down and said " ready for your entrees?" And then it dawned on us that our server didn't really check up on us when we had our meal (we were meaning to ask about the salad but never got the chance). We didn't dock our server on this - I could see that he had a large section both inside and out on the patio. Came here for my birthday after having a great experience on a previous visit, but this time was very disappointing. We sat outside for our 7:30 reservation and, while we understand there may be some bugs outdoors, there were ants everywhere on the underside of the table and on top the table. Drinks took forever to come out, and our martinis were made incorrectly and then took even longer to be replaced after a reminder to our waitress. One of our appetizers was forgotten entirely and only brought out after we reminded the waitress--late, and with no apology. Most frustrating was the lack of accountability from our server, who simply said, "we're really busy tonight." No effort was made to acknowledge the mistakes or the fact that we were there celebrating a birthday. The food was good, and the support staff were friendly, but the service from our waitress really ruined the experience. Came here with a friend during the week. I had made a reservation a couple days before for 5:45pm and they had said they only had outdoor seating, but when we got there they were able to seat us inside. Interior is very cute and trendy. We ordered a couple of drinks, both got the garden of eden ($17)- which was very refreshing! We shared the english pea agnolotti ($29), rigatoni bolognese ($29), and a side of the crispy garlic potatoes ($16). My favorite was definitely the agnolotti- delicious little pasta pockets! The bolognese was also good, what I would expect from a classic pasta dish. The garlic potatoes were also soooo yummy and flavorful. Overall, While the prices were definitely on the higher side, the portions were a fairly good size. Had a good experience and a nice neighborhood spot to treat yourself. read more

Went to check out a new restaurant in town. We made reservation on open table in advance and we couldn't believe how packed the place was! We were celebrating our friend's birthday and the food/drinks were amazing! Waiter: They have the best staff ever! All really quick and caring. They came around our table so many times To change our plates, wipe the table, and even cut the birthday cakes for us! We were not expecting this kind of service but we were kind blown! Food: REALLY good. I have to say my favorite dish was the tomahawk steak (the price was $295, luckily there were 7 of us lol), beef tartare, and the squid ink pasta. We shared all of our dishes since the portion is small, but the taste of each dishes were amazing!!! Drinks: Nothing bad to say about the drinks. They were really good! Many of my friends said they couldn't taste the alcohol. Overall the environment was Amazon! A great place to celebrate something, take family out, or a nice date night with your significant other. Finally, a Vegas Strip caliber Italian eatery in Hawaii. Thank you Lyla D for pointing out this is the chef from the former Monzo at The Park. Oh yes, the roast duck is back baby! Sorry, no pics. Device free dining with visiting poker buds. Entrees impress. That said, the duck is outstanding. The fat of the breast is perfectly rendered with crisp skin. It is cooked mid rare and paired with a confit leg and thigh. The two preparations showcase different flavors, the first metallic, game bird notes, the second earthiness. Both pair well with the citrus sauce. For something less rich, the braised beef cheek is extremely well made. Pull apart tender but not over braised to stringy. It pairs perfectly with roasted bone marrow. Grilled meats are also not to be missed. The 14 day dry aged pork chop cooked medium is stunning, juicy, tender, porky goodness. The 60 day dry aged New York strip well cooked with even sear to a perfect mid rare, burst with blue cheese notes and nutty aroma. Finally a dry aged steak for dry aged beef lovers hits our shores. Pastas on offer. None sampled. For starters, oysters are oysters. Correct beef tartare and solid charred Spanish octopus. The tuna tartare interesting. Soy, avocado, yes, yes but a wasabi tuile? The textural contrast is great at first but is quickly lost. Regardless, all are overshadowed by the excellent mains. Service is surprisingly good for a new eatery. Confident, relaxed, but efficient. Well chosen wine list with good selection by the glass split between Italy and the US. Lower than expected markup. An unexpected dining experience. Finally, a cuisine that sticks to its own style and NOT trying to be Hawaiian fusion. It makes it destination worthy. read more

Amazing food!! I want to go back and try the other dishes. We ordered entrees and skipped the appetizers because there were so many appetizing dishes to eat. We got the scallops, braised beef with bone marrow, and squid ink pasta. All were amazing!!! Every bite was enjoyable and we ate it all. Cino is a new Italian restaurant located in A'ali'i ,a residential condo on the west side of Whole Foods at Ward. We went on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was packed. We were told that the chef is a local boy that came back from Las Vegas and brought along the manager and a few staff. Our waiter was JR, and he was one of the best waitpersons that I've ever been served by, from Hawaii to New York to Paris to Japan. Having been a waiter for seven years, during high school and college, I have some experience in food service. This guy was good! Without being asked, he told us about his favorite dishes in each category and describe them expensively in both how it is prepared, and the ingredients that are used. His service was also right on as he anticipated everything we need needed and delivered it. We were surprised at how fast our appetizers had arrived after we ordered it, especially considering that every table was filled. We enjoyed our appetizers, our entrées and our wines by the glass. The restaurant has a nice interior design and a cool ambience. Came here for birthday celebrations and it did not disappoint!!! I'm giving this a five star for the staff kindness, atmosphere, and some of their dishes and drinks are just absolutely amazing. The main downside was the food took quite a bit of time to come out. We had reservations for 6pm and appetizers arrived around 645. The staff said it takes time for the food to be so pretty. I do agree the food is plated very nicely. The sashimi was so fresh and the romaine was great. The crab spaghetti with the sea urchin was great and noodles cooked a perfect al dente. The squid ink also came out piping hot which I super appreciate. The Kauai shrimp unfortunately didn't taste that fresh though but alot of great clams and mussels. Butterfish was tasty and of course tender. They have a pretty extensive drink list and wines to choose from. The table next to us asked the staff how much for corkage if you bring your own and they said 35$. The desserts were also beautiful and the panna cotta was absolutely ah-mazing. You just try this dessert. Saw some after work businessmen drinking at the bar, tourist families, and locals as well. Cino is fairly new so you'd think there would be some hiccups. The only hiccup was that they didn't have beer yet - I forgot what reason. It would've been great if they could stock some bottles while they wait for their beer on tap but that wasn't the case. Other than that, we had a fantastic meal! The major standout was the cauliflower. I normally don't care for cauliflower but the pictures looked really good so we decided to try it. You'd be surprised how delicious cauliflower can taste! The pastas were also really good (small sized though). My parpadelle was tasty and full of meat. I'd definitely eat here again! There is a small lot in the building for "retail" parking but the stalls are really tiny. If you can't find parking here, or don't fit, there's ample parking around the Ward area. read more

So it's my first time here and I've heard so many great things about it. Location: clean, modern, and cozy. Great for date nights! Service: our service was nice but seemed to have a hard time multi tasking a whole section of tables. I kinda felt bad for him to be honest because it looked like there were only 2 servers on the floor that evening. Menu: we asked for the wine menu but apparently they are still updating it. Our server had to tell us the types of wine they had along with a rough estimate of the prices. I would assume that a nice restaurant like this would at least make a temporary menu print out for their guests. Food: I had the best octopus dish here! Hands down! Food was amazing! Everything we ordered was soo good! We got the charred octopus, beet salad, & crispy rice hamachi for appetizers. We really enjoyed the octopus. It was grilled crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Squeeze the lemon over it & it gives you a nice kick. The beet salad was refreshing with goat cheese and hazelnuts. I wasn't into the crispy rice too much but babe enjoyed it. For main entrees, Babe got crab spaghetti which was pretty good. The pasta was on the harder side. I got the pork chops with a side of broccolini. I was amazed by how good the pork chops came out. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked medium to perfection. soft and tender. The broccolini is a good veggie choice to get with your protein. The serve a nice portions. The only reason why i'm giving 4 stars is because we didn't finish the crispy rice hamachi and wanted to pack it togo but someone in the kitchen ended up eating it so our server said she would comp our dessert. She did comp dessert but she forgot we were celebrating my bday. They also took our napkins when clearing the table and forgot to bring us new ones. But overall, it was a nice first experience. I was very impressed with this upscale Italian dining experience in Honolulu. All the food was fresh and deliciously prepared. Had the Crab Spaghetti with Urchin, Dill, Bread Crumb and an entire fish Branzino with Red Chimicurri, Fresh Herbs for entrees. The spaghetti had big chunks of crab and I was nervous about the urchin but it was hardly noticeable in the dish. Came to check out this new place. Reservations was made online on open table very easy. Once we got there, hostess got us seated very quickly as well. Ambiance was very nice, but the back area is a bit noisier than the front part where the bar is. We ordered an appetizer, two main courses, and two desserts. The service was incredibly slow and we had to ask the poor waiter to check on our orders multiple times. So in the end he was kind enough to comp us for our desserts. (The simple meal took 2 hours) Onto the food, the charred octopus was one of their most popular dishes and it was great. Charred just right but it was a tad too salty in my opinion. It would have been better if it was salted less and we could taste the freshness of the octopus. My crab pasta was also one of their most popular dishes but I thought there would have been more uni. There was only one piece that acted like garnish on top . The pasta was homemade and cooked al dente. (Not AS firm as you'd find it in Italy but definitely firmer than most). This dish didn't give me as much of a wow factor as I thought it would, the seafood pieces tasted a bit like unfrozen seafood bites. Didn't get to try the chicken but the date seemed to have enjoyed it. The tiramisu is very creamy. Didn't quite taste much rum but definitely very filling despite looking so small. The mango panna cotta was very sweet but you can definitely taste the mango in the panna cotta. The rasbberry? Syrup on top was a tad too sweet. But if you have a sweet tooth this is your dessert! They also have home made ice cream too. I would maybe give them a month or two more to iron out operations before going so hopefully service won't be as slow! read more
