Mashed potatoes: personal favorite! Good seasoning, great texture.

Great place! Not too formal, not too casual, great food, prices are great for a steakhouse! Recommend reservations as it gets pretty crowded for dinner. We had 7:00 pm reservations for a Friday night. Parking: Free self parking , with $3 valet for dinner hours. Ambiance: A little dark like normal steakhouses, however, the ambiance is more modern. Noise level is pretty high as others have commented the music playing over the speakers are way too loud. Tutus would not like it much as it's too loud. I felt like I was yelling to my wife sitting across from me. But I would still go back! Service: Excellent! Waiter Christer(?) was friendly, attentive, and helpful. Local guy, makes you feel relaxed and not too stuffy, but very polite. Not east to find workers this good. Prices: Reasonable for a steakhouse, especially nowadays with everything so expensive! 16 oz ribeye was about $56, baked potato $9.50, mashed potatoes $12.50, sautéed mushrooms $13.50. Total with drinks amd appetizer for 2 of us, $185 with tax (w/o tip). We went to Ruth's Chris a year ago which was much more expensive but not as good. Food: Really good! 2x ribeyes were cooked perfectly and good seasoning. A little salty for me (wife said hers was fine), but better than no taste. Fried calamari appetizer was tender and batter crunchy, however it's topped with sweet chili sauce which my wife doesn't care for too much, but that's personal taste as I liked it. Side baked potato and mashed potatoes were perfect and tasty. Side sautéed mushrooms were tasty, however we didn't care too much for the sauce, maybe a wine sauce? Again, personal taste. Overall the food was excellent and tastier than Ruth's Chris at a better price point. Final verdict: this place is a really great choice with great service, great food, decent prices, and good ambiance (however a little loud). Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!

Happy hour Steak and Mushrooms. 2026-04-17.

Very good food, very good service, in a nice setting on Nimitz highway. Been here a couple mid times for happy hour, which used to be much busier but lately it's not as busy. Maybe cause the economy is in a downturn. Highly recommend coming here for happy hour for the good prices on their happy hour menu and still getting their service, etc. We will be back.

Came here for a spontaneous happy hour date night with my partner, and it ended up being such a great choice. The vibe was relaxed and perfect for unwinding after a long day. What really stood out, though, were the prices. It's not easy to find a spot that delivers both quality and value, but this place nailed it. The total came out to about $60 subtotal for everything, which honestly we felt was pretty worth it. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a low-key date night spot that doesn't break the bank. Honestly would probably come back for the deals alone.

This is a repeat review for one of my favorite steakhouse! We celebrated a belated Mother's dinner with great food!! Tomahawk Steak, Ribeye, and more! The sides were delicious as always. Our favorites are, creamy spinach, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. Wish they served white rice Atmosphere can get a bit loud when busy but our server Mark made us feel special. Another great experience and dinner.

This is my second time coming to this place. I know people have raved about this steakhouse and as a pescatarian I am reviewing it as such. First and foremost the second time around I came for the Mr.'s birthday who is a carnivore. We came on a Tuesday at 6 PM for reference. The place was already pretty busy. He had the New York strip and said it was perfectly cooked and he is very particular on how his meat is done. His only complaint was that the plate itself was super hot and it continued to cook the meat. I figured it was to keep the meat hot. The kid had furikake ahi which was absolutely delicious. I had the salmon and it was on the sad side. It was small in portion, looked a little "naked "for my family but tasted OK. Definitely overpriced for the portion they give you. I ordered a baked potato without bacon. The topping on that was lackluster. It was a small spoon of sour cream. I did have to ask for a knife to cut it because it was on the harder side. The kid ordered garlic fries. They look larger in the picture that I took, but they were pretty stringy, super oily, and less garlicy. We almost took them back. That was a huge disappointment for them. They only ate a few. With that being said, would I go again? Yes. But I would try for happy hour. Are they overpriced? I think for some things they definitely are. Is the music loud? I believe it is overtly loud for a steakhouse. But that's just my opinion. We were able to find parking in the back is everything in the front was taken.

Little Joe's Steakhouse never disappoints. From the moment you walk in, the service is attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. The staff consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect, which makes the entire dining experience feel elevated. The food quality is outstanding every single time. The steaks are cooked exactly as ordered, flavorful, and clearly high quality. You can tell they take pride in both presentation and consistency. Whether it's a business dinner, a casual night out, or meeting friends after work, it's always a reliable choice. If you're in the downtown area, this is easily one of the best spots to unwind after work or enjoy a great meal. Little Joe's has become a true go-to for great steak, excellent service, and a consistently top-tier experience. Highly recommend.

Located on Nimitz Highway next to Liliha Bakery. Limited parking in the parking lot. Little Joe's offers valet parking for $3, cash only. Limited street parking. Good happy hour menu food options and prices. Food is on happy hour until 6:30pm, drinks until 7pm. The steak special with baked potato is a great deal. Fried zucchini is my favorite to get. Other good options are the fish tacos and sliders. Calamari is nothing special. Service is always good. The restaurant has good aesthetics. Good for special dinner, happy hour, dinner with date or friends.

Went for their happy hour and you cannot go wrong! The prices are great and the food is delicious. It's gets pretty busy when HH starts since it's first come, first serve. So I suggest being there before 4:30 to be sure you get a table. They have select items that are 50% off during happy hour such as the tacos and avocado toast! Everything else is still a great deal! They have their own parking lot that they share with Liliha Bakery so parking isn't an issue. The restaurant is clean and tidy. We ended up staying a lot longer than we anticipated and had such a lovely time.

My wife reserved a table on Open Table a few prior and we were seated an awesome table. The restaurant has a nice vibe inside and the place feels cozy. Our waiter was friendly and prompt with service. We ordered cocktails and ordered the Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes and I got a New York Steak. My wife's Halo Halo cocktail (I think) was super flavorful and sweet ! It didn't taste like alcohol. My beer was okay but I'd rather get the cocktail next time. Our steak and sides arrived quickly and were piping hot when served. My steak was cooked to my preference perfectly ! The steak was juicy and tender with every bite. I would definitely order it again. The mashed potato was delicious and the potatoes were on the more creamier consistency which I was happy with. The Mac and cheese was a delicious blend of cheeses and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I had no complaints on any of the food and I would definitely return here if I return to Honolulu.

Such a good experience. I ate a splendid meal of steak, mushrooms, creamed spinach and washed it down with mai tais. I was so happy with the prompt service and excellent food. I even appreciated the Frank Sinatra music for the majority of the night. Eat the meat!

The spouse chose Little Joe's Steakhouse for dinner, which is the same company as the Liliha Bakery chain. ATMOSPHERE: Modern vibe, mood lighting, counter, low & high top seating, along with rooms that can become private. RESERVATIONS: Recommended via OpenTable as they were pretty busy. PARKING: Free but limited amount of stalls, or valet for $3. MENU: Steak, lamb, chicken, seafood and desserts. BEVERAGE: Lemon Drop Tasty and balanced recipe with a sugar rim. FOOD: Baked Potato Sold out. Come on!? Bruschetta We received this as compliments of the maitre d' as our server didn't came to our table for 10 minutes. It was simply a diced tomato medley over bruschetta. Appreciated, but no wow factor at all. Clam Chowder Very tasty New England recipe but the portion was extremely small for the price. New York Strip A hearty and thick 10 ounces, my requested medium temperature was majority medium rare, though perfectly seasoned and juicy. Highly recommended. Mashed Potatoes The spouse and I were so disappointed in settling for this thin and soupy selection that needed salt. Creamed Spinach Excellent flavors and creaminess. Highly recommended. DESSERT: Chocolate Lava Soufflé Definitely sized for just one person, it was chocolatey, chewy and delish. We added a scoop of vanilla ice cream to make it decadent. SERVICE: Host greeting was immediate and welcoming. As mentioned, no one to our table for 10 minutes. After the hawk eyed maitre d' noticed my spouse looking around, he came to our table to apologize and explain what happened. Really great recovery! The male server eventually showed up along with a few other workers who dropped off waters, but he didn't introduce himself nor mention his tardiness. Service thereafter was attentive and good. OVERALL: A lot more affordable than the big chains and with food that's up and up with them. A definite return.

This review is way over due. Looking for happy hour somewhere in town? Little Joe's is the place to go. They open at 430 when happy hour starts. Happy hour is from 430 to 630PM. Happy hour menu is half off. That's why they have the best happy hour. Best to make reservations. You're lucky if you get a table walking in. Our most recent visit was spontaneous and walked in, and we got high top table seating in the front by bar. Not bad, just gotta feed the belly. We went on my Friday, which is a Saturday, so I just wanted to have a few and pupu. Ambiance is dark and dim. Romantic ish. They have private rooms for private parties. Everything is Ala Carte. I ordered 2 glasses of Chardonnay and a spiked plantation cocktail. For pupu, we ordered fried calamari, fried mushrooms, and onion rings. Onion rings so fresh crunchy and yum. Same for the mushrooms, deep fried, very super hot, if u bite into it when it comes to your table. So careful for no burn yo mouth from the hot oil juice in the mushrooms. The calamari was dressed with peanuts and chili sauce. Interesting. For entree, she ordered a NY steak and mashed potatoes for us to share. And the wife ordered a crème brûlée for dessert. All was good. Fulfilling. For steak... we normally order ribeye. I/we never, ever, normally order any other kine steak than ribeye. Idk, the wife wanted to try something new I guess. Personally, if you ask would I order a NY again? Nope, no thank you. I'll stick to my ribeye. Lol for me, the drinks, the mashed potatoes and onion rings was yum to me. All in all, little joes never disappoints. 10/10 recommend. Will definitely go back again. And again. Especially for happy hour!

I don't recall if there is? Give them a call

When will the Pearl City Location open?

Is it reservations only or can we do walk ins?

Reservations, but well worth it now that chuck's steakhouse is closed permanently.

How is the bar on a Sunday afternoon? Easy to get a seat?

It's usually pretty open on Sundays but everyday is different. If it's a small group of 1-3 we should be able to easily accommodate

Is reservations done on Open Table or do we need to call?

You can do it either way via Open Table or by calling them directly. Their website reservations will take you to Open Table.

Is there ribeye on the happy hour menu?

Yes they do but must be consume in their bar area for the happy hour price

Is vaccines required to dine in?

    Definitely YES!

Do you guys take the Signature Prime Steak & Seafood gift card? Same company right?

You can not redeem that at Little Joes.

    How is parking?

Go early for good parking. They share the same lot as Liliha Bakery so it can get crowded. There may be additional parking on the makai side of the building, too in the evening.

Is Happy Hour crowded, do I need to come early with my family to get a 5pm seating?

Hmmm....good question. Depends on the day of the week. I always make reservation for dining when they open at 4:30pm. Best to call the restaurant for your question. They would better know.

Is there a children's menu available?

I didn't see one when we visited. We ordered the ribeye and asked for an extra plate to share with our 8yo. But they do have booster seat for the smaller kids. Hope this…

    Open for lunch on sundays?

    They open for dinner only.

Is the happy hour menu available for takeout? EDIT: Happy Hour menu is not available for takeout,…

    Unfortunately, no!

    Is the Tomahawk steak avail?

The tomahawk steak was available on Valentine's Day. I do not think it's on the regular menu.

I ordered the charred Caesar salad and duck fat fries. The charred salad was odd, I think I was expecting a light smoke but I guess they were true to the title because it was charred. My prime rib was the standard medium rare but it took some cutting because there was so much connective tissue that had not melted, the fat hadn't melted either. It was just bad. I asked the server about the prime rib and she said it's supposed to have a lot of fat because of the cut. Absolutely true, but it's supposed to melt not be huge chunks. It also needed the horseradish, it had no flavor otherwise. The server was nice and took half off the prime rib. The fries tasted like a standard fry I've had before, nothing special. I tried the lobster pasta my friend had and it was delicious, everyone who ordered pasta at the table was satisfied which is great but this is a steak restaurant. The server was really nice. I wouldn't come back even if someone else was paying. But my dog appreciated the prime rib I brought home, so I guess that's a win?

Since it was late, we noticed the back of house staff help the front. Everyone was so friendly and food comes out fast. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food was a bit too flavorful - we all agreed that everything was slightly salty. I could also say portion of some items may not match price, but I understand inflation is increasing at an alarming rate. So I'll leave money out of this. Crushed cucumbers were interesting. We couldn't decide if eating it with chopsticks or spoon was better. With chopsticks, you might not get enough sauce. But you could taste the layers of flavor. With a spoon, you get too much saltiness. The spice hits at the end. The tako karaage were a little too chewy for us. Beef tongue was so tender. A definite must order. I dont think it needs rice though. We also ordered the late night nikumiso but it didn't come with an egg, which the menu said it should. We tried handful more items but we'll be back to try the oxtail items, as it sounds like that's their specialties, but takes extra time to prepare.

This is what we had: Starter salad from the seasonal menu of watermelon, strawberries, blueberries and greens served on a bed of yuzu infused goat cheese and drizzled with a shiso chimmichuri sauce. Yes, bursting with flavor! I would return for just this dish! Next shared was a tempura battered cauliflower served with a robust curry and yogurt reduction. Deeeelicious. I wouldn't say we licked the plate... but I won't deny it. Hahah. Finally shared the seafood in curry soup (think a lighter version of laksa) served with white rice on the side. Holy moly. No words to describe. Portions were generous enough to share still next time, I won't. That memorable you won't want to share. No longer serving volcano black rolls, tho absolutely serving amazingly wonderful dishes. Volcano black pancakes still available at breakfast. We kept on oooing and ahhhing and asking about the chef. Our servers Gale and Lily, who provided the most awesome service told us "Chef Lance" (as he is affectionately called) moved over from the Mariposa (Restaurant in Neiman Marcus) over a year ago. Further research revealed Chef Lance Kosaka has brought experience from noteworthy restaurants: Top of Waikiki, Merriman's, 53 By the Sea, and most recently Mariposa. I am hoping he will bring in a notable creme brulee that I loved at both the Top as well as Mariposa! Not wanting the deliciousness of Chef Steve's cooking to end, I also ordered a warabi salad to go for the next day. It was...just as wonderful as the other dishes we enjoyed. Thank you to Servers Gale and Lily, Chef Steve, actually...the entire staff who elevated a casual evening of dining to be a most memorable experience! Thank you to sister friend Karen who insisted we dine here, for the most wonderful company and meal. Validated parking in the building accessed on Seaside. Validated for either 2 or 3 hours depending on the promotion. Kamaaina discount of 10 percent given. Will we be back? Absolutely. And I won't wait so long this time to return!

There are a few tables,…read morebut the beauty of this place is that you're not paying for the ambiance, you're paying for delicious no frills prime rib, and if you're lucky, lobster tail too! We ordered the prime rib & 3 lobster tails special for $69.99 and fed three people (one is a smallish person). We ordered a back-up plate lunch with the smoked ham steaks that we barely touched, because we were so full. Most prices are under $30, and they have a great breakfast menu as well. Even though it was a busy day, our food came out in just a few minutes. Glad this place is still around. Can't wait to go again next time I need a cheap protein boost!

It's a "hole in the wall" type ambiance. But when the quality is this good for the money, ambience takes a back seat. We went on a day that missed out on the best prime rib in the state. Those days are Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. And you best get there before closing cuz they run out fast! They also have the best pork chops I've ever eaten and those too run out early. We got there late on Wednesday and had the NY steak. It was a great size and tender cut with asparagus. It was excellent. We also had the chicken but was no longer crispy as we had takeout and didn't get to eat it until a couple of hours later but the flavor was good. Parking is street only so you best find a side street and park as it's busy. They deal in cash only! **** Most all plates come with a salad and rice.

Even from the first greeting, Nick made us feel like natural and expected VIPs by doing a lovely tour of the menu, and being ready for any questions or confusion we could've had. All of his recommendations were excellent, and his grasp of tableside presentations and service was truly top-notch! In addition, the rest of the staff - including the very approachable GM Doug - seamlessly jumped in to assist in service whenever needed, even though they were all each very busy. Since I'd put so much preparation into making my girlfriend's birthday trip feel special, I was really anxious - and holy s*** did you guys deliver! Thank you to all the staff for an unforgettable experience, and really hitting the high note on our entire vacation in Hawaii! Must tries: Ahi Tuna Rolls and the Hot-Stone A5 Wagyu (appetizers), Hot Shellfish Platter (Entree) and (omg) the Pineapple Foster.
