I have alot of thick hair and its usually intimidating for most stylists, which is fair, but Fiona took the extra time to make my hair SO freaking pretty! She was even giving me tips on how to style my hair or anything i had been complaining about. She made my experience super fun with the conversations we had and i left the salon with the prettiest blowout i ever received. So thank you because most stylists will just blow dry my hair and call it a day! I had a destination wedding in Tucson and last minute was looking for a place to give me a blowout the day of. The place was super nice and I was seen quickly. Emily did my hair and was so fast and super friendly. I had a lot of fun and loved how my hair looked. The only thing I would say is I'm not sure if the curls turned out like my inspiration picture, but tbh who isn't picky on their wedding day it could definitely be a thing that my hair is just not similar to the way I was initially wanting. I love this salon! it is beautiful, but more importantly, everyone I have engaged with is warm and friendly. The front desk was knowledgeable- I wasn't sure exactly what hair color service I needed. After I explained my situation, they explained the most appropriate service and booked me for it. Fiona is my stylist and she is hilarious, fun, and educated on hair color and styling. She always ensures she thoroughly understands what I am looking for. My hair is fine and straight, and past stylists just slap on rows of highlights. She appare was working on my hair as well as someone else's also. I was not happy with my highlights. my color looked pretty much the the same as I walked In. During my appointment she left me sitting for about 30 minutes while she worked on another persons color. I felt the appointment was rushed and certainly not a good job. AURORA is a godsend! I happened on the website and saw her curly hair and my heart leapt within me. No, really. I've been in Tucson for 10 years, tried a little of everything and hadn't found a stylist who could both cut my curls and color them, which matters a lot. I am prematurely gray and have 4a/3c curls that dry out with the wrong color. I've had many bad experiences, so I went in for a consult with Aurora. She blew me away with her knowledge of my hair (our types are similar) and I immediately booked a cut in time for my maternity shoot to have freshly colored roots! I was so trusting, I didn't even consider making a backup appointment and I was rewarded. My color was POPPING, she has hands that know what they are doing, and she is a master at cutting your hair to fit both your hair type and your face. She can color so well that she is able to do bleach on curly hair without destroying it. Her hair is amazing. I'm not that brave. My cut came out exactly as I'd envisioned and my hair has grown at a remarkable rate with no breakage even with the color. I've been back twice since and must say there's no one better for curly cuts in Tucson than Aurora. And I've tried them all! Came here today to get a highlight as my roots were very dark. I'm visiting from Florida and couldn't wait to go home to get them fixed. I'm so thankful I was scheduled with Denise. She did an amazing job and not only lightened my roots but put low lights in to add dimension to my color. As we were discussing my cut, she noted that my hair was "heavy". I have a lot of very fine hair that had no body when it's too heavy. All this my not seem like much, however it's something I struggle with at every hair appt and here was someone who had just let me pointing it out. This place is a desert gem! I get pretty anxious whenever I try a new salon, but I'm so glad I found Circa 79! I have that wonderful combination of frizzy, thick, and wavy hair that most stylists don't understand. Trinity gave me an amazing cut and was super knowledgeable. Ambience was calming and modern. I spent $260 to walk out with the exact same hair I walked in with. And on top of that my shirt was ruined. Not sure how the bleach worked on my shirt and not my hair and I'm sure my stylist saw the bleach stain but for some reason she didn't say anything. I was charged for a balayage when I wanted highlights which would have been cheaper. My stylist was so nice but I wish she would have been honest with me and had said my hair didn't lift at all and maybe DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT. It was very obvious I was disappointed. She must have known it didn't look any blonder because she kept saying "the sun will help lighten your hair more" which is what encouraged me to not say anything and wait longer to see if I ended up liking my hair! By the time I got the courage to say something it was too late for the salon to do anything about it. They offered to schedule me another appointment with a different stylist at FULL PRICE. It's always been my fear to go to a nice salon and pay high-end salon prices only to wish I had stayed home and did it myself for $8.
