Fairly paired down menu but what they do offer is well executed. Parking in the neighborhood sucks, of course. Good ole DC never fails in that regard. The food and service is appealing though. The granola/almont French toast is delicious....as is the Circa burger. They even take the time to spread aoli on the bun. Most places do nothing and typically require you to order that sauce cup of mayo on the side after the fact. Burger was absolutely perfectly moist. Melted in your mouth. Really tasty home fries too. Yum. The bulgogi initially wasn't available and then it was, so I took it to go + added some shrimp when I got home. The Purple Rain cocktail was suggested so I tried it. My wife and I went here on a Thursday night after seeing the great reviews about this place. My wife and I have been to many other Circa locations and have always had a great experience ,so we thought we would try this location. To say that this place did not live up to the hype is an understatement. The atmosphere was nice and the drinks were good but that's about it. Our waiter started off pretty attentive, but as the night went on we saw her less and less. The food was a bit underwhelming and was average at best. I ordered the steak frites and my wife ordered the short ribs. My steak frites were pretty good but I felt like the restaurant was really stingy and I barely got much steak. If anything I was given an enormous amount of fries but barely any steak. My wife's short ribs were pretty bland and nothing to write home about. She also barely had any mashed potatoes and had more spinach than anything else. Our waiter consistently walked past us numerous times without checking in on us. When it came time for the check it took us about 15 to 20 minutes to get the check. We will most likely not be returning to this establishment. read more

I believe that there is an another bar that is attached to it. The bartender didn't pay much attention to the customers. Overall it was just ok. I wouldn't say I would never come back. What an unexpected treat! Girls night out dinner at a Navy Yard restaurant turned into one of our new favorite dinner spots. The energy in the restaurant was upbeat, the service was perfect, and the food was delicious! We lucked up with Pedro as our server. He was nice and knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended great items on the menu and ensured our orders were correct and came out fast and hot! The manager suggested the bread pudding and he/Leo was so right! I just had a very unpleasant experience trying to eat at this nearly empty establishment. The online reservations showed open spots every 15 minutes until closing, so I thought being a walk-in wouldn't be an issue. Upon entering and asking for a table for two, I was treated very rudely when I was told they had no tables available and were only accepting reservations. I questioned why I was able to make a reservation online right then, and the rude lady smacked her lips, rolled her eyes, and told me that if that's what I wanted to do, I could go ahead. So, I made the reservation online, but she walked away without a word to speak with another woman. This woman informed me that they were fully booked with reservations and that it was unfair to seat me given the reservations they were expecting. I explained that I had just made a reservation online. I didn't understand why reservations were available if I wouldn't be seated. None of the reasons provided made sense, and it felt as though she assumed I was incompetent. She then offered to seat me in an hour, which would have been after my reservation time, completely contradicting what she had just said. Ultimately, I decided not to spend my money at this establishment, as it was clear they did not want to serve me. I am truly disappointed since I have never had an issue in the past. Oh well! Had two different waiters so was confusing. Should have been a warning to us. Then they have the nerve to warn you at the door about some extra special tax for cost of living increase. First the food. Fantastic. Like realy good. Our server was also great once we got one. We made a reservation for a patio table. Got there and place is empty. Like didn't think it was open. After sitting there about 10 mins and almost leaving server walks by. "O I didn't know anyone was here". Not surprised since we were the only ones there. All of the food here is amazing. Ate here twice in a row on 8/28 & 8/29/2020. They are doing a great job with safety protocols and cleanliness. We came here for a restaurant week dinner and loved it so much we returned the next morning for brunch. The Shotgun Shrimp and Brussels Blue are excellent appetizers. I guess they make all their sauces in house and they were tasty! I then ordered the almond crusted Trout with the Lemon Caper Butter sauce. And I've been thinking about it ever since! Came during restaurant week and fell in love. Staff was really friendly and our server Pedro was awesome. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing with great music. Started with a couple cocktails -Purple Rain and Strawberry Mojito- both tasted fresh and looked great. All of the food was of decent portion size and tasted incredible. You'd assume they put their best dishes out for special events like this and they didn't disappoint. Apps were Brussels blue and Mac/cheese. Entrees were Mushroom ravioli and Braised beef short rib. Dessert was definitely our favorite - the chocolate cake was super rich but the bread pudding took it to another level. So, I decided to grab a bite to eat before going to the Nationals game and I am so happy that I decided to come to this spot...the customer service was PHENOMENAL...we were sat immediately with no wait at all...it was 3pm just to give you an idea...the ambiance was very chill and they had some r&b playing in the background(I was definitely tapping my foot and did a little shoulder bounce)...the place is so clean and it just makes you relax and get comfortable...the food came out and I was excited because of how it was presented...absolutely beautiful plating! The Braised short rib: It was so tender I could eat it with a spoon...the flavors of the meat(PAUSE) were just perfect and it literally melts in your mouth...the freshness of the spinach was just amazing and the MASHED POTATOES were REAL POTATOES for one(THANK YOU LORD) and they were so dang good...but, listen a fork full of all of the ingredients together literally made me smile BIG...this meal made my day...5/5 Steak Frites: the steak was prepared PERFECTLY and the flavors were all there...that verde sauce was PHENOMENAL(LORD) and the fries were crunchy(THAT GOOD CRUNCH) and it was a delicious meal as well...5/5 We all know that I love my TITO MULE: my mule was made to perfection each time(I had 3) and I was not driving at all... This was the perfect place for brunch. They have a full ranch of options and most things were tasty.

Its a homemade patty with hummus, tomato, and onion. It was a good choice but due to the thickness of it the consistency was a little mushy and the patty didn't quite hold together. Next time I will ask for it to be well done. The sweet potato fries went well with the sandwich. read more

I used to love Circa but unfortunately now I will not be returning. I was even just here yesterday and had a great experience. Let me first just say that I love the manager, Alex, as he is very friendly, inviting, personable, and seems to care about the customers... but everyone else is horrible. We've been here many times for brunch and today should have been no exception but unfortunately it was and we will not be returning. We ordered bottomless mimosas, which are pricier at $19 but we consistently saw the bottom and the only time we got a refill is when we flagged someone down, including two managers. When we alerted one of the "managers" (who made it a point to say he was the Director of Operations), he was rude, combative, and insisted on arguing with us. He told us the reason they didn't consistently refill bottomless drinks is because they don't want to overserve guests. Unless someone is giving you an indication that they're being "overserved" there is no reason to not actually serve them mimosas when they've ordered bottomless mimosas. There's no point to actually ordering bottomless mimosas then. They even tried to justify this by actually saying "Well as long as you got 5 then you've got your money's worth". Who are you to tell me what's worth my money when I'm the one paying and I paid for bottomless? After arguing with us for several minutes, the "Director of Operations" left and another "manager" came over. She proceeded to make excuses and not take accountability either and reiterated this whole point of being "overserved", though we only had 5 mimosas. And at no point did anyone even offer us an apology. Instead, they were rude, dismissive, and defensive. This used to be one of my go-to restaurants because of the convenience and food but this most recent experience will ensure that neither I or my friend will ever return, which is unfortunate since we both live in the neighborhood. read more

There were about six different people tending to us and apparently they didn't talk to each other. The manager is cleaning tables while the three hostesses monitor the door awaiting people to walk in. ‍ I am not sure how the service management is configured, but it isn't working. When my burger finally arrived it was undercooked and cold. And then than the same waiter brought me a dessert menu after I ordered dessert - with him. We have been to many restaurants in the city, but this one was one I hadn't been to since they opened. We were greeted and seated. Stetson was our server and he was awesomely attentive! I got the French toast with granola and it was really delicious. I loved the crunch that I gave and the flavor was good. Started with an old fashioned (not the maple one on the menu) and it was standard. We ordered the pretzel loaf which came with ground mustard butter. It was really good, the mustard in butter wasn't overpowering. For dinner my fiancé ordered the pumpkin ravioli which was awesome. I ordered the Circa burger with no onions, well done. First, the food was always ready ON TIME whenever the app tells me when to pick up the order. This is very rare these days. The friendliness from the staff was great during dine-in and takeout. Usually for takeout orders, the food is rushed or lower standards are applied ... not at Circa. The food quality is the same as dining in. It came with mixed greens, red grapes, mangoes, marinated tomatoes, dried cranberries, cashews, and pickled ginger vinaigrette. I chose to substitute the picked ginger vinaigrette for the apple cider vinaigrette and it did not disappoint! The chicken was moist and beautifully charred. As a starter I had fried calamari which was pretty good besides the hidden fried spicy peppers which I mistakenly thought was a piece of calamari. The salsa was also a bit too spicy for me.
