The Mac n cheese is stellar, can't lie. However, the service is so disconnected, none of out orders were accurate. There were about six different people tending to us and apparently they didn't talk to each other. The manager is cleaning tables while the three hostesses monitor the door awaiting people to walk in. ‍ I am not sure how the service management is configured, but it isn't working. When my burger finally arrived it was undercooked and cold. And then than the same waiter brought me a dessert menu after I ordered dessert - with him. Moral of the story is ... there are so many great options in DC, save your money on this one. read more

We arrived for dinner at 5pm. There was. 20-30 minute wait, but space at the bar which serves the full menu, so we sat at the bar. Started with an old fashioned (not the maple one on the menu) and it was standard. We ordered the pretzel loaf which came with ground mustard butter. It was really good, the mustard in butter wasn't overpowering. For dinner my fiancé ordered the pumpkin ravioli which was awesome. I ordered the Circa burger with no onions, well done. Circa is one of my favorite restaurants in Navy Yard. I visited Circa many times for dining and takeout purposes. This review will focus on the carryout/takeout side. First, the food was always ready ON TIME whenever the app tells me when to pick up the order. This is very rare these days. The friendliness from the staff was great during dine-in and takeout. Usually for takeout orders, the food is rushed or lower standards are applied ... not at Circa. The food quality is the same as dining in. Looking for a good brunch spot in Dc and this place was recommended to me. Beautiful interior with a full bar and plenty of high top tables and seating for standard groups. Arrived slightly before 12 and was seated quickly. Service was very good. Mimosas were good but nothing special. As a starter I had fried calamari which was pretty good besides the hidden fried spicy peppers which I mistakenly thought was a piece of calamari. The salsa was also a bit too spicy for me. We asked for the salmon to be cooked at medium, it came out perfect. This is farm raised jiggly salmon, not wild caught if that is a concern for you. Salmon was crispy and moist. Overall very tasty. Ambiance was clean, sophisticated, had upbeat servers, a delicious looking menu, and a great happy hour - $5 beers, $7 wines, and $8 select small plates and flatbreads. Our bartender/server, Nikki, was fantastic. She was very attentive, serving up beer after wine after cocktail as well as our complicated food order with gusto. Halfway through, she let us know that she was in training and we were impressed at the "cool as a cucumber" way she was handling everything getting thrown at her. Was looking for a place to grab dinner with a colleague in Navy Yard and happened upon CIRCA. The restaurant was very busy on a Wednesday night, but we were able to be seated without a wait. We ordered the steak frites and the fried chicken sandwich. Both were amazing - and the portions were huge. Big fan of the food, but the service did not match up. We were out of water for most of the meal, and every time we asked for more, they'd forget to bring it. Same with our drinks, too. The table next to us was having service issues as well. We picked Circa to hold our April's women's group meeting. I was eager to try Circa's brunch and pretty hungry too. Fortunately, there was no delay in seating our party of 7. Once inside, I appreciated the relaxed vibe and open format of this restaurant. Additionally, there was a nice sized bar (it was full by 11) with an adequate number of TVs. Natural light was shining through. There were several interesting options on the seasonal and standard menus. After some discussion, I ordered the tuna poke nachos and Chesapeake Benny. Both dishes were tasty but those nachos were really delicious. Our server was assigned to multiple tables but he had us covered. I said his name so many times that day, but it escapes me now. Since one of our members had a birthday, we ordered desserts, strawberry shortcake and a chocolate torte. Seven ladies sharing desserts shouldn't cause too much damage right? Oh man, came here recently and the food was so good. Made a reservation online without too much notice on a Friday night and managed to get seated despite arriving about 15 minutes late. Got the grilled chicken sandwich for my entree and really, really enjoyed it (and the price was reasonable, too!). DC is really killing it when it comes to trendy dining, and CIRCA is no exception. From the modern interior to the smooth jazz playing, this is really the place to be. It seems that a lot of people agree, because it was jamming on the 4th of July. In fact, it was so busy that our waitress disappeared when we tried to place our order, and we had to flag down the manager to put our order in. Fortunately, the manager saved the day. From there, everything started to fly. The drinks came out quickly (delivered by the manager). The appetizers also came out quickly. The fried calamari tasted light, and fried shishito peppers were a nice surprise. The spinach artichoke dip had a heavy artichoke taste, which was terrific. The meals also came out quickly. And, wow, were they delicious. My bison burger was juicy and full of flavor. I've mostly gone off blue cheese, but it really works here. The shoestring fries were crispy and full of flavor. The chicken Caesar salad is a classic Caesar, with a subtle anchovy taste that I love. The grilled chicken sandwich is served on a ciabatta roll, which is a perfect vehicle for a tasty grilled chicken breast (I usually find chicken breast to be boring, but this one had a wonderful robust flavor). The Italian flatbread is one of the best pizzas I've ever had, very sauce heavy and earthy in character. After a bumpy start, things turned out great. I owe this to excellent management. We went to Circa for New Years Eve and weren't disappointed. We ordered the Blue Cheese Brussels Sprouts, lobster bisque (special), and the filet and crab cake dinner (special). The food was delicious, we didn't leave a single bite. The Brussels were coated in a creamy blue cheese that wasn't overwhelming and complimented well with the balsamic drizzle. We will only be eating Brussels this way moving forward. The lobster bisque wasn't overly fishy and was well balanced and full of lobster bits. Honestly I could have just had a second serving and been more than happy. Truly delicious and deserves a place on the daily menu vs. just a special. The steak and crab cake were well seasoned and flavorful. I was slightly confused at the sauces, the steak sauce and crab sauce honestly had very little flavor at all. Seeing how much sauce they gave, I anticipated a plain tasting steak and crab cake, but instead all of the flavor was in the steak and crab cake (which was VERY crabby and not bready at all). I could have forgone the sauce actually. Overall the food was absolutely delicious and I was astounded to see people ordering anything other than the special. My first time at this location. My friend and I stopped into Circa after a focus group at WeWorks across the street. Jason (J) was our bartender and was very engaging , knowledgable about drinks and provided excellent customer service. I ordered the Mule and it was tasty. My girlfriend ordered the Foggy bottom drink and it was sweet. We were going to order the Calamari and Jason suggested we order the shrimp and that was a great choice.
