The first two times there this week were great. Sat at the bar tables and food was good. Go in yesterday and get ready to sit at bar table and then told they are reserved. So changes from one day to the next? Go to the front and gentlemen there asks to help us and I say need seating for three. He whispers under his breathe to other host who says not to worry about us. Which of course we heard. He then says 45 min to an hour. We left and won't go back!!!!! The only reason three stars and not lower was from previous service. read more

My little brother took me to brunch here on a Saturday to show off where he works. I made a reservation, but we probably could have just walked in as it was busy, but not packed. The vibe was laid back, and the staff was attentive. I ordered the breakfest bowl special, and my brother ordered the American Bistro. We each enjoyed our food. The flavor and portion size were just the right. I also had two of their mimosas which were $6 each as they don't do the typical DC "bottomless" brunch. I came here with my boyfriend for dinner last weekend. Wait time wasn't too bad considering we came here on a late Saturday afternoon with a busy festival going on nearby. Friendly staff and great service. Food is definitely 10/10. We got chicken wings for appetizer and Oh MY MY....AHHHHHmazing! They were seasoned beautifully and so juicy! For our entrees... I got the circa burger with fries and I was so satisfied with my order. My burger was huge and the fries were deep fried perfectly. My man got the turkey burger with sweet potato fries. The Peking in the area is terrible. We drove around for 15 looking for parking. The only park lot was 40$ yikes. The restaurant is nice and clean. The food choices are terrible. It's not much on the menu and the few option I tasted were kind of nasty. I went to this location twice. The first for a birthday celebration dinner and the second time was by mistake. I didn't remember I had been to this establishment. I most likely will not go back but it the menu looks like something you are into give it a try. The drinks were the best part of my experience even though one drink was 20$ lol. read more

Great service!! Great food! And the ambience is was perfect!! My server (I think his name was Bobby) was the best server I've had in a long time. He helped me with my dinner selection, my wine selection and even my dessert. As I was eating the manager Juan came to my table to see how I liked the food. Juan also had great conversation, we talked about the restaurant history, and so much more. CIRCA is a must try!!! I will be returning a few times, I want to try every entree on the menu. read more

Was very disappointed after $15 Uber ride to here, they refused outside patio service on a beautiful day. I remember when restaurants were struggling and boy did I step up to plate with take out orders with 50% tips. Now when a customer with greater risk wants to dine out on an established patio that has tables and chairs - too bad. read more

Great brunch location. If your going to a afternoon game make sure to make reservations for CIRCA! The food was good actually very good. Brunch is hard to unique but CIRCA make ordinary brunch items unique with a twist of flavor. Apparently the menu changes often but I highly highly recommend the Calamari. I've never had calamari with a garlic butter sauce and marinara. This is something I'll remember when I make calamari at home. This was delicious and the twist of the garlic butter sauce was amazing. Also the whole olive and artichoke was very good and added a extra level of texture and saltiness to the calamari. The Southern Chicken Benedict was outstanding as well. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the biscuit wasn't too butter or overpowering. Huge respect to the chef in the back of house for the unique twists to ordinary brunch items. read more

We've driven by this restaurant too many times to count, yet for some reason never gave it a try until last night (and now I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner). I've tried lots of Happy Hour menus around D.C. and I think this is the best (all of their small plates are $8). We had the Brussels sprouts (so good), lettuce wraps (great), shotgun shrimp (amazing) and their fall bruschetta (the most amazing bruschetta I've ever had and I don't normally like goat cheese). Also had their Foggybottom cocktail and it's a new favorite. Our waiter, Jacob was really really outgoing, the food came out quickly, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Waiter has very attentive and courteous. Tuna nachos appetizer was good; however the "steak frites" was overcooked and poor quality and the short ribs were just okay. Loud music made conversation difficult. Over priced and we wouldn't return. The worst part was when they refused to call a taxi for us. read more

While the food and drinks were great, our waitress was unfortunately exceptionally rude. It was my 21st birthday, and when I ordered a drink for her, she looked at my ID as if I was underage and said "2000?" in a rude tone. Only once I told her it was my 21st birthday she reread my ID and took my order, didn't even tell me happy birthday. Only about 10 minutes after the food came, she slapped the check down on the table, rushing us out, and didn't even offer a dessert menu. What a pleasant surprise stumbling upon Circa at the Navy Yard one recent evening. Our final destination was the Van Gogh Exhibition in Brookland, but we decided to check out restaurants around the Navy Yard. Circa looked inviting from the outside, with its semi-enclosed outside area. We walked in without a reservation and were seated by the pleasant waitress immediately. Service was excellent and we had minimal waits. Being on a schedule for Van Gogh left us ample time, but we couldn't tolerate a long delay. Our food arrived promptly and was amazingly good. We shared a salad, which had grapes, cranberries and plenty of juicy, well-seasoned chicken. Good selection of beers on tap, as well as in bottles. I liked the design of the outside enclosure, which was cozy without making us feel like we were sitting on the sidewalk. We were also protected from the elements, although we didn't need protection that evening. Prices were what we would expect from the DC area and quality of restaurant. If you are going to a Nats game, or just out for the evening, Circa seems like the perfect place. read more

Fantastic service, atmosphere and food! I had the scallops and risotto tonight and I didn't leave a crumb. It was amazing.

Went during covid, sat outside (made reservations).. the food was great the cocktails were pricey but strong enough.. everyone was social distancing and you could not speak to the waiter unless your mask is on. Our last nigh in DC and we were looking for a nice place off the beaten path for dinner. We found this nugget within walking distance from our hotel. We were blown away! Kelly, our waitress was fantastic. Made some great suggestions. I ordered the Ceasar Salad with hangar steak and my wife had the short ribs. Main entrees came after their brussel sprouts. The food was amazing and tasted incredibly fresh. The cocktails were also made to perfection as if I had made them myself, not skimping on the vodka. Definitely one our trip highlights. read more

Staying at nearby hotel, we walked over to CIRCA. We weren't disappointed at all. I wanted a nice meal for the family, they had everything we needed. My wife ordered the short ribs, knowing of all the great reviews I've read, it was a great choice. I ordered the blackened salmon w/a side of crispy Brussel & bleu. Our waitress ask if I wanted the brussel & bleu first, we said to bring all together. I thought it was odd because I ordered it as a side and not as an app. When our food arrived, everything looked great. Plus I got an app size brussel & bleu. My wife and older son both tried it and instantly loved it. The short ribs were as advertised, delicious and so well presented. The salmon was delicious with so many great flavors. Sautéed kale, mashed cauliflower and a perfect amount of grain mustard sauce. My teenage boys loved the margherita flatbread and crispy chicken sandwich. Thanks for a great meal. read more

Straight forward, American food restaurant that pleased us with its menu. You won't be disappointed but also don't expect the best of the best...just a solid spot to count on. Lots of diverse options from different cultures Chicken wings: super solid with a nice sweet and hot apricot glaze that I highly recommend! Lots of meat, did not taste too fried. Turkey Burger: Honestly this was the star of our show. We wanted to be on the "healthier" side but hate to spend the $$$ on salads, so this was the next best thing and DAMN, this blew our expectations out of the water. A solid thick patty with your typical burger toppings but the habanero aioli was fantastic addition. And a side of sweet potato fries really knocked it out of the park! Definitely gonna come here again, and next time try some other options that sound good. read more

My husband and I have been here many times and had excellent service. However last night we went for Happy Hour and seated at the bar and it appeared the waiters were discussing who would wait on the section we were seated in, thus resulting in a very long wait period. If you want good service and craft cocktails, this is the place to go. I got the steak Frites, which I thought was severely under-seasoned but I did enjoy the atmosphere and our lovely server. I will say I do feel that the restaurant needs to take more precautions when it comes to the length of the staffs nails & their hair not being pulled back or facial hair being too long (or not tied up). This is not directed at one person but rather several staff members that I saw within the restaurant. Aside from this, the staff worked well as a team and service was very quick. read more

I always find myself at this spot. Either for brunch on the weekends or happy hour during the week it's always a good choice! The people are so friendly, and I love the vibe you get when you walk in.
