The employees behind the counter are always nice and friendly even when they are really busy. They don't just try to rush you through!

Sam's Seafood & Grill

They were formerly known as "Sam's Seafood Grill" but have now rebranded as "AJ's Seafood Chicken &…read moreGrill". It seems as if they have new staff as well. However, one employee single-handedly ruined the reputation of this establishment for me. My mother and I have frequented this place for about a year now. They've always had phenomenal customer service and food. However, yesterday when we pulled up to the drive-thru, we were immediately assaulted by the strongest weed scent that we have ever smelled off of one singular person before. In layman terms, the drive-thru worker stank. Badly. When my mother points out how overwhelming the aroma of weed is, instead of being apologetic, the drive-thru worker immediately gets defensive (as all junkies in denial do) and proceeds to call my mom and I quote a "f*ckin idiot". The worker also claimed that she had cancer and was using the herb for medicinal reasons. As paying customers, we have every right to a refund and yet this woman initially denied me one, claiming that they "didn't do" refunds. To make matters worse, she took my card to the back of the restaurant instead of returning it to me, which I did not appreciate at all, as I have no way of knowing whether she took a quick snapshot or not. Magically, she could suddenly do refunds when I threatened to call police. She also mentioned that she would make up some fabrication to the police and accuse us of trespassing when, in actuality, we were simply trying to order. As far as the cancer claim, due to her willingness to lie about not being able to give me a refund and about us "trespassing", I am not fully convinced that this woman is not just another pothead lying to justify her addiction. Will not be returning here.

I've gotten good food. I've gotten bad food. I use to get over the top orders. Fresh, neat,…read moreplentiful. But lately I get cold fries and onion rings. The box is only about 2/3 full of fries and especially onion rings (half box). The burgers use to be stack high and fresh. Here lately it's skimpy, thin and cold. Probably by leaving out trimmings either purposely or by error. The kids working there are mostly polite. But some do not know how to say Thank You. Whataburger is the most expensive fast food restaurant in the area. You'd think you would get top of the line burger and fries. Here lately it's no more than McD's. I think it a sign of the times. Corporate is telling them to skimp on product. Thusly, speeding up service by servicing more customers. In there marketing thinking, higher profits. Customers will just be going to competition to save money.

This Whataburger location is starting to go down the drain in the AM. I have over time noticed that…read moreit is when a particular manager is there. When this particular manager is NOT working, I can get my same order in less than ten minutes through drive through. When she is working, they will have you wait at the menu for five plus minutes while the line is slowly getting shorter in front of you. By the time I get to the window after finally ordering I am ten minutes into arriving and placing my order. I will then have to SIT at the window and watch them take new orders before ever taking my payment. Then when my order comes up, its twenty minutes later. I have been coming to this location for years and I absolutely cannot believe how terrible the service is when this manager is working. If corporate would like to reach out to me, please do. As a manager myself, this is unacceptable for the food industry, and "fast food." Absolute terrible customer service.

If you are looking for a hidden gem serving some of the best fried seafood in the Pensacola area,…read morelook no further than Shannon's Seafood Kitchen. It is everything you want from a classic Florida seafood dive. The restaurant sits in a spot you could probably drive past a hundred times and never give a second thought. It is tucked away enough that if you did not know it was there you might miss it completely. But once you stop in, you will be glad you did. The atmosphere is modest, casual, and clean. It feels like one of those small family owned meat and three restaurants you find all over the South. The only difference is this one specializes in seafood. The service is as sweet as the iced tea and the conversations with the staff flow just as easily. Everyone was friendly and welcoming in that genuine small town way. The food was outstanding. Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The seafood was fried perfectly and seasoned just right. The fish was flaky and hot straight out of the fryer, and the fried shrimp were crisp and flavorful. Even the sides were great and tasted homemade. You can tell right away that the owners and staff genuinely care about what they do. Their pride in the food and the restaurant really shows in the quality of everything they serve. If you ever find yourself craving a big piece of fried fish or a basket of shrimp, Shannon and her crew will absolutely deliver. Tip: Do not let the outside fool you. This is exactly the kind of local seafood spot that ends up becoming a regular stop once you discover it. Well done.
