I went there and ordered food the employee speaking to me was highly rude. I could barely hear him and told him I can't hear him. Then he asked what kind of sauce I want I said the hottest one, the. So I decided to give Hot Head a try. It's very similar to Moe's, Freebirds, or Chipotle. There are a couple more meat options here than the other places; for instance chorizo is offered at Hot Head. They also have veggies or queso sauce for an up charge. And they have brown rice as an option, instead of white rice. When I entered the store there weren't any other patrons inside. I wasn't greeted right away, even though the two workers looked at me. They did speak when I spoke, though. The burrito was good. They offer quite a few sauces like mango habanero (that is awesome) and jalapeño ranch (I plan to try). I took my food to go, and I don't really remember much about the interior of the facility, but it couldn't have been overly impressive since I don't really have any recollection of it. I'll probably return at some point. I won't be rushing back, though. read more

I ordered door dash and it is across the street from my work. It was cold and honestly just gross.

WARNING: Metal wire found in burrito, honestly everything was fine I got my burrito to-go, got home to eat and my 3rd bite in I feel something very hard stab me. Not thinking too much about it, (thinking it could be a bone or something) I kinda eat around it but when I pull it out of my mouth it's a piece of wire. Probably from a metal brush, but this was just an uncomfortable experience for me and I will not be returning to that location. When ordering the food in store, the male worker was yelling at the younger female worker. Basically just making this whole experience uncomfortable and horrible. We tried to talk to corporate, even sent emails, but they never responded. Definitely don't recommend this place read more

We have been regulars at this establishment for over 2 years now. The ONLY reason I give it 4/5 is the consistency of the food. They seem to run out of things constantly. The service is in accordance to who you get. I would say 8/10 of the workers are amazing. Not much for in house ambiance as this establishment is really about take out more than eating in. All in all, go. Given a choice between hotheads and chipotle, we choose hotheads every time. Even with the inconsistencies, it's still a better value in our book! Hot heads is my family's favorite after church lunch. Their bowls are always amazing (I recommend their sweet teriyaki or sweet habanero sauces) as well as their burritos. The workers are so friendly and always make pleasant conversation. The ambiance is also very nice and there's always a Sunday sports channel on. Overall, I highly recommend Hot Heads. I enjoy Hot Head's because of the quick preparation and generally flavorful food and nice service. While I am sure there are those who would disagree, after trying Moe's several times, I still prefer Hot Head's. Price is slightly high, but typically they do not skimp on ingredients. Last time getting a burrito, it was so big that I had to use utensils instead of just my hands. Recently, my wife got a chicken quesadilla that was huge, which meant that I got to finish it off. Chips are too salty, and the 'meal deal' to add on (chips, drink, and cookie) is $4. That would likely put one's meal at around $15.00 with tax. Typically I ask just for a cup for water. The mobile app is pretty good. Easy to use at checkout. Overall, I like Hot Head's for the speed and taste when it comes to this kind of food. read more

You ever just want to apologize to the employees because you walked in and now they have to deal with you? That's exactly how I felt when I walked in today. I informed tHe lady behind the counter I haven't been in before she was not helpful and rushed me through without explaining the food options. At the end of the line, I heard another employee ask a customer if they wanted salsa and I said to the person helping me " I wish I had salsa" she said "oh, sorry". I've ordered takeout from this place twice just to changed things up from my regular Moe's order. Overall not bad. They offer a lot of different kinds of salsa's which I really enjoy. If you're tired of always getting Chipotle or Moes, this comes close to being up there. The customer service has been great the two times I called to make an order or to ask questions. read more

I went over here for the first time, and I had an amazing experience! The guy who served me was super nice and directed me to all the things I was curious about trying. The name "hot head burritos" truly speaks for itself. There are spicy sauces suited for everyone's needs. I got the pure habanero sauce, and it was spicy enough. I wish they still had their ghost pepper sauce, I would've totally tried it! Anyways 5 out of 5 stars. Bring your friends! I'm not in the vicinity of this place often, but I was reminded of my visit as I drove by today. I went shortly after they opened, although I don't know just how shortly that was. I posted a picture of my 'rito during that visit, though. The line and assemblers were chaotic. I attributed that, at the time, to the inexperience of both staff and customer. The first time that I visit a place that's set up with a cafeteria-style line and a menu board, I can be indecisive and hold up the queue...figuratively, of course. Lots of choices. Maybe too many choices. I got the steak with rice and beans. That was a good thing, because I was hungry and there wouldn't have been much to eat without the rice and beans. The burritos are huge, but skimpy on meat. The burrito was impossible to eat as a pick-up item. Upon the first bite, it started falling apart. Probably due to the manner in which they ladle beans and bean juice on top of the thing, making the roll a sodden mass. I had to go find a knife and fork, which made getting a decent sized bite improbable. Save one, all of the sauces are based on what is best known as "Thai chili sauce," which is to say that they are cloyingly sweet and totally unsuitable for a burrito. The level of heat claimed on the menu board is optimistic, unless you just got weaned...the hottest level is about as hot as Crystal hot sauce, with the extra, added "bonus" of the disgusting sweetness provided by the base goop. Seriously, some people of dubious taste might enjoy high fructose corn syrup in their burrito, but I do not. After the additional consternation of tasting the puke-inducing "hot" sauce being heaped on top of the frustration of eating a pile of rice and beans in a basket with a flimsy plastic fork and knife, I went in search of a manager. I kvetched a bit, diplomatically of course, and he produced a sauce that was actually hot. I think that this was a sauce that they add to the Thai crap to make the "hot" sauce on the menu board. I departed with rivulets of sweat meandering down my scalp and credit that moment as the only thing that kept my visit from being one star. Yes, I'm that shallow when it comes to my gastronomic preferences. I drove right by this place hungry today. I will not say that I will never go back, but it will take a trusted friend to convince me that Hot Heads increased the quantity of meat in their burritos and got rid of the incredibly bad sauces. Unless they start selling lumpia and/or egg rolls, which are the only two things for which that Thai chili sauce is appropriate. read more

I went here a few weeks ago. I'm a huge fan of Moe's and Tijuana Flats, but this is closer to my home so I figured I'd give it a try. I went about two hours before closing and ordered the chicken burrito, but was told they had just finished a batch and policy stated they couldn't make any more so close to closing time. So I ordered the barbacoa burrito as a meal. Honestly, it was a bit more expensive than I thought it would be - at least for the size Moe's is a better deal. Especially since I only received 10 chips for my "meal". The food wasn't too bad, but for the value and the fact that they stopped serving certain dishes at 8pm, it was a disappointing experience. First of all, I can't believe some of the other reviews. I love this place! I eat at Hothead two to three times a week and I've been satisfied every. single. time. It's easy to eat healthfully at HotHead and there aren't a lot of options like that in the Nine Mile / Pine Forest area. My favorite is the barbacoa, second favorite is chicken, and I have either as part of a salad. The burritos and bowls are good, too. I'd liken this to Moe's or Chipotle, but with a more local mom-and-pop feel (even though it's a franchise). read more

If there was an option to give less then 1 star I would! I tried this new location out thinking that it would be comparable to a Moe's but no where close to a Chipotle. Keep in mind I eat Mexican food ALL the time so my hopes were to add this place to the rotation. That's not going to happen. The food is wayyyy overpriced for the quality, the staff needs WAY more training. The staff is not good at explaining the menu at all. They serve Pepsi which is like a death sentence for me and the kicker.. You have to ask them for any type of salsa to put on your food!! No self serve option like Moe's which is a total pain as you have to get up and ask for more. The chicken tasted like I was eating boiled dark meat chicken and you get no side of chips. Which I guess makes sense now as you have no salsa bar to pair them with. Overall, I was very very disappointed and will not be returning. I will not be eating here again. I ordered food for delivery from Waitr. I paid for my food. Which was upwards of 40$ for 3 tacos a lil bowl 2 orders of chips and salsa (don't eat salsa so put instructions in to not send it. The I ordered what I thought was queso with taco meat as a side. I get a phone call saying they can't do this. It has been done all the other times before but suddenly it has changed. Not to mention my order has been incorrect everytime I order. I'm shocked by the poor reviews. As a person who has a strong affinity (addiction) to Chipotle and has been suffering like a crack addict at rehab, my wife brought me here. Skeptical as I was after being told Moe's was basically the same thing--far from it in terms of flavor and quality--I give this place 5 stars. It is NOT Chipotle, but it is the same basic formula with a few changes. The meats each have a spicy option, which is something Moe's is sorely missing. There are plenty of sauce options. The barbacoa is satisfying, as is the rice and tortilla. The quality is in line with the price, which I will say is below Chipotle's culinary excellence for the same price. That being said, there is room in your Mexican restaurant for this restaurant as well as your current favorites. This is a business that deserves to succeed. read more

First of all they demand masks and are very forceful about it unless you are a homeless person. More than once they served this homeless person without a mask but if you step in without one you are attacked. They threatened me today because I dared asked for the young man to spread the guac please and put a little more on one out of the 3 because they are so pitiful with portions. The manager had to stick her self in the situation. When I asked what the problem was she said she wanted to make sure of the portion. They are very stingy on a portion you have to pay extra for. One thing lead to another and she was even discussing it with other customers. Very unprofessional. And because I would not be bullied she decided she would show me and told me to leave the store and she made a big show out of throwing the tacos out and crushing them in the trash and telling me she was going to call the cops and to never come back in. WOW! All over a few pennies of guac and she had to show her self to be bully raising her voice about it with the customer behind me. I had a good experience here. My son got a lil burrito which is quite big for an 8 year old but the chicken was great in the burrito. My wife got a steak bowl without rice. She was a big fan! My wife's mom got a lil bowl with the pork and some of the hot head sauce. She thoroughly enjoyed the smaller bowl and the level of heat added by the Hot Head Sauce. I got the spicy Barbacoa. No rice (don't judge me) Black beans, Pico, onions peppers, and the hot head sauce on the side. I couldn't not try their signature hot sauce. I haven't been eating really spicy foods lately (used to do ghost pepper salsa on the regular) and so I felt that hot heads delivered on some spicy food which is a huge plus in my book. All around the meat was tender and delicious. Personally I felt the portion size was okay, a bit more than what I would eat making my own meals. The hot sauces may not burn your face off if you're trained on spicy foods but for everyone else the spicy level is awesome and is definitely present. Hands down my favorite part about this place is how you can use their website to select your food and view its nutritional content. It's likely to err on the side of more calories when you actually get the dish but I thought seeing what you were ordering was a huuuuuuuuuge plus for me and my wife. Severely disappointed with quality and serving size of tacos and quesadilla. The bowl we ordered was huge- it was really stuffed but not really tasty- was mostly rice and beans-skimpy on the tasty items. The tacos (for $2.75 each!!!) had literally a teaspoon of meat in each one. The picture doesn't even do justice to how sad the tacos were- I put a teaspoon in the pic to show how wimpy they were. Definitely won't be bothering to order from here again. And I ordered the extra large quest blanco--be warned it was about 3/4 of a cup. Go to Moe's or even Taco Bell. Since Pensacola doesnt have a Chipotle, i decided to give this a place a chance. It isnt Chipotle but it will have to do unless i drive an hour for Chipotle. It is on the same basis as Chipotle but with a few more options, mainly sauces and peppers. The meat didnt look fresh and was bland. The sauteed vegetables were almost black from being overcooked. The chips that come with the combo meal were "eh" and seemed old. Will i return? Perhaps if im going through bad withdrawls from Chipotle. Moe's is much better. Went in at about 2:00pm (non peak hours) to get a chicken bowl and the chicken was not ready. Really? You want me to wait 15 min or you'll give me 10% off something I don't want. No thanks and walked out. I have never had an issue at Moe's. read more

Let's talk about the food... Me and my coworker got it for lunch, we both got let down. The sweet tea is NOT SWEET AND NOT FRESH. Tasted sour almost. (This is the south, this is a serious crime) The food was bland, we both got spicy (Barbacoa and steak) and NO flavor. The sour cream was runny, they don't let the black beans drain completely before putting it on, again bland everything (even the guacamole) and when they offer the sauce (we didn't try any of them) GET IT BECAUSE IT HAS NO FLAVOR OTHER WISE. thank goodness for Taco Bell sauce in our drawer lol Based only on the food we won't be coming back.
