The best tacos since I dont know when.. 1) filling 2) decent price: $4.50-6 max 3) fresh ingredients. Protip: sign up for their vip club (which free) you get a free margarita...which also doesn't taste cheaply made. Win win. Service: friendly and if you love to chat...well pop a squat Ambiance: their decor is reminiscent of tiajuana flats mixed with iguana mia. And if you want to feel at home..there are leather couches in the back. Just go! You won't regret it. For you craft tap lovers: 99 bottles is next door.

During our day trip to Sarasota we were looking for a spot that's close to places we were planning to visit and had a fun vibe. Circo turned out to be the perfect spot! Service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly from the second we walked in. This place is very family-friendly with great kids menu options. The freshly in-house made chicken tenders were a big hit with our girls. Bar team did a great job whipping up a mocktail for our daughter as well. The drinks are delicious. We had desert pear margaritas and they were amazing. I can't wait to be back to try other flavors. The menu has great options for every taste. I love the new spin on some of the taco flavors and combinations. The goat cheese guacamole was very good and what a great way to incorporate goat cheese! Also, their Birria taco is a MUST TRY!

Great place with an array of tacos.....REALLY good tacos! Servers are kind and attentive. Fish, Shrimp, Mongolian Beef are delish. (Haven't tried the rest....but will be back!) Comfy cozy place with outdoor seating, bar seating, sofa seating, regular tables and high-tops. Pool table and neighborhood feel easy parking. Dog friendly.

Great taco place. The vibe is lively and surprisingly they also boast a bourbon collection. The bar is large and they also have a pool table. The service is friendly. This is a tex-mex place so you're not coming here for the traditional mexican taco. They have all these different types and fusions of tacos. My korean pork taco was a winner. The ahi tuna taco was good too. We split a queso and practicall licked the bowl clean. As for hot sauce make sure you get their house made one. The prices here are reasonable too for the amount of food you get.

This place rocks and "Chatty Kathy" made our experience over the top. The tacos are amazing, phenomenal bourbon selection and an overall great atmosphere. Kathy took care of us like we were family. Will definitely be coming back here again!

Was out and about looking for some happy hour drinks and food and wandered into Circo. The place was fairly empty and we grabbed seats at the bar. Bartender was quick to take our drink order and WOW that old fashioned had great flavor and a big kick to it! Ordered some tacos and they came out fairly quick. Excellent flavor and just the right size bite for what we had in mind. Was quiet while we were there but imagine it gets quite loud when it gets busy. Great spot, good food, definitely worth a try.

8.00 margaritas were so cute looking!!! The nachos were good .... would have been better if they were hot! Want salsa for your 5.00 taco that is extra! Chicken taco was really good. We also ordered the gringo taco (almost nothing was inside ) sent it back as to not be charged 5.00 for a pathetic looking taco!

We were driving through Sarasota as part of a return trip and were looking up taco places to eat. We found Circo online and decided to give it a try. It wasn't very busy for a Sunday afternoon and we were instructed to seat ourselves. The restaurant is nice and has very eccentric lighting and decorations. I really like that they have couches as part of their seating. We were very hungry so we decided to try a variety of tacos. Of the things we ordered, the elote corn salsa (which was very delicious, I highly recommend), the Falafel taco, the Birria Beef taco, and the Mongolian Beef taco were our favorites. I wasn't a fan of the house margarita because it was extremely sour - I couldn't even finish it. We didn't really care for the Buffalo Chicken or Nashville Hot tacos either. Overall, it was a good dining experience and we'll be back to try more of their menu if we're ever back in town!

Ambiance was a hip taco shack. Pretty lively. Service was attentive , you walk in and sit where you want to sit and the waiter / staff member will bring menus and come to you. Tacos were good , tasted fresh and filled with a lot of substance . I enjoyed sitting next to the window where I saw a guy with a snake on his shoulders walk by so that was fun.

Circo is fun. We'll be back the next time we're in town. Trendy but not fussy. Great fusion twists on tacos. Thai shrimp and buffalo chicken were our favorites, but the shrimp salad taco was also great. The birria taco -- I don't know what this trend is all about. Too greasy for me. Good cocktails. We had the bourbon margarita and the tequila old fashioned. (Get it?! They switch the liquors! Because they can!) Not cheap, but they're using premium spirits and mixing them well. Service was friendly and attentive on an early Saturday evening. No problem getting a table. One quibble: They charge $8 for chips and salsa, and I get that they don't want to feel bound by being a traditional Mexican restaurant, but I know of Michelin starred Mexican-inspired restaurants that give out free chips, and their purity is not sullied by doing so. The fact is, free chips would have made us thirsty enough to order another $30 worth of cocktails. And even if they're handmade, making chips is neither hard nor expensive. Oh, and the bathrooms are way cool. Be sure to check them out.

God bless America and their obsession with fusion food. This place will put anything in a taco. Came here for happy hour on a Friday. Cool spot, great prices and service. I loved their decor, and they even had a pool table. Got 2 margs and 6 tacos for under 25 for everything with their BOGO deal. Enjoyed their shrimp taco, the gringo tasted like a nicer Taco Bell taco, a very classic American taco. I would advise that if you're craving authentic, I'd continue looking. If you like American tacos and a good time, it may be worth your time.

This is what was left of our margaritas after we ate all the tacos and drank most of the margaritas! It was just enough and not too much!

First time there we had a great time. Tonight was a hot mess due to service at the bar. Andy started off great and then was distracted by having to take a 12 top. Completely forgot to put in our order, then the other bartender blamed it on the kitchen being slow. It literally took us 60 mins to get 4 TACOS which 2 were then cold on the inside (the tofu). Again didn't tell a manager and shrugged it off. Sad service which is unfortunate. Oh well maybe we come back maybe we don't. I don't mind waiting an hour for food (got our food at 9:03PM) but I do expect better communication and not blaming others for your mistake. read more

Came here for dinner while on vacation in Sarasota, and it was a hit. First off, the atmosphere was great and my girlfriend and I loved being able to seat ourselves. We started with chips and queso, which unfortunately I have no pictures of because we ate it too fast. For our main meal we both had a Birria, Mongolian Beef, and Korean Pork tacos (See pics). They were divine! Both the Mongolian and Korean were wonderfully balanced flavor-wise. The Birria, was incredibly decadent, and was sublime when dipped in the consommé. Service was snappy and we had a great time with our server Chris. He was very nice and attentive. Definitely a must if you're staying any time in Sarasota! read more

Amazing! Great place to just chill and have some funky tacos! I had the Cubano and Chicharrones. The guac is bland - can't taste any salt or lime. Home fried chips are hard (too cooked) and really greasy. Overpriced for what you get. The order-by- text service isn't clear - the QR code was hidden under a table sign. The QR code on the menu doesn't work for table service. Took a while to figure out how to order. read more

INCREDIBLE! Dominic made me an amazing margarita, and also recommended the guacamole. Both of those items were spectacular, but the mahi mahi (catch of the day) Baha tacos were superb! Dominic's personality and conversation stole the show though! Circo's is very lucky to have him; he was more than happy to make recommendations since this is my first (but certainly NOT my last) time here, and he went the extra mile to answer all of my random food questions if he didn't know the answer off of the top of his head. Terrible food and terrible service. Got over charged, server acted like nothing, the manager never even came to the table and had us waiting over 20 minutes to "fix the charge". Then was just handed a receipt with no apologies. Not one to submit negative reviews but this was extremely disappointing. Who gets tacos wrong? Lol read more

I love the variety of tacos and that will bring me back again. Buffalo chicken was my favorite, followed by the picnic chicken. The Korean taco had some kick to it. Chips and salsa were really good. If you like spicy, move past the "medium" verde salsa, there really wasn't spice at all. Margaritas were great, especially for happy hour $5 a piece, can't beat it. Very personable and knowledgeable wait staff! Churros. Get the churros. read more

I had the Slow Roasted Angus taco, the Cubano taco and the Korean Pork taco. All three tacos were incredible. I wish Circo was a food truck so I could give it five stars. Food quality was overshadowed by bad, impersonal and very slow customer service. If Circo ownership decides to spend as much time on the customer experience as they do the food, they will be vastly successful. I hope they do. read more

Wow!! Love this place! My boyfriend and I saw that it was their grand opening last night and decided to check it out. The menu was amazing. We tried the Mexican street corn, delicious! My boyfriend loved the tots and egg side and asked if I could make it at home for him. we tried a couple different tacos, each were amazing. My service was awesome; thank you Josh! Great service (shoutout to Chris) and yummy tacos! Nashville Hot taco was my fav! Wish they had a combo chips sampler options so you could try more than one type of salsa/guacamole/cheese dip without it being cost prohibitive. I can say the Salsa Rojo and Goat Cheese Guacamole were super tasty. The latter was creamy, but didn't really taste goat cheese or sundried tomatoes. read more

We needed a place to host a soccer team dinner of 35 players and their parents. The table was set up when we got there and the service was masterful. 15 separate check and people rolling in late. Megan (sorry if you spell it another way) and Sade were extremely proficient, efficient, patient and accommodating. We would highly recommend Circo. A shout out to Anthony, the manager who always returned my calls and answered my questions! The food was fantastic as well! read more

I've been here a couple of times. The house margarita hits the spot; it's not that disgusting diabetes-in-a-glass type that's usually served at similar spots. I'm not a vegan by any means but the "Nashville Hot" taco is sooooo good. Perfect combo of flavors! read more

My friend gave 3 - 20s on a $38 check (gratuity) already in but she wanted to tip a few more dollars because she is a very generous person and then when she asked about her change that's when it got weird and the bartender made it seem like she didn't understand why she wanted change instead of just apologizing for the mistake and they went back and forth for a few minutes with the bartender ending up just giving her the extra $20 back. Just left a weird taste in our mouths for the experience when I feel like any bartender would understand what she wanted to do with giving extra larger bills to split especially when she said she wanted change and it was a massive overpayment or if the thought there was a very generous tip like 30% would make sure with guest that's what they want and show appreciation if that were the case. It was just weird how it all was handled. The decor was on point for Christmas and the vibe was very casual but oldie vibes which makes sense for it being in Anna Maria island.

My family's favorite appetizer is the Brooklyn Style Wings - maybe because we are from Brooklyn, but the wings are addicting with the flavors of sausage, peppers, and a vinegary sauce. The burger was the most surprising of them all, with big flavor and smokiness infused into every bite of meat. Oysters were clean, fish was fresh, and the homemade chips had the perfect crunch. I'm so glad I discovered Brine, but now am so disappointed that I don't live in Sarasota full time to be able to dine here more often. We've been in a few times and every time we are so impressed with the food and drinks! Nick and Tim behind the bar give amazing service and really know how to keep their guests entertained. We ordered the guacamole and chips to start. The guac was mild but great! My hubby likes some spice so they chopped up some jalapeño and added it to half so he had exactly what he wants! We are slowly making it through the menu, but some stand outs would be the Mongolian beef taco, has a sweet Smokey peppery flavor I love,the Thai Shrimp taco spicy but packed with other flavors and topped with fresh mango salsa, and don't forget the Tots with Local Egg, HOLY MOLY! with goat cheese and cubed bacon, this is something you cannot miss on their menu! After speaking with the manager I found out that everything is made in house, the chips, guac, salsas, quesos, pickling their own peppers and onions, and the flavor tells all! And we haven't even talked about the decor and atmosphere they have created, definitely a place where you could hang for hours and truly have a fun time! Being one of SARASOTA'S best Lyft drivers, I had the fortunate pleasure of picking up Krista to get her to work. Upon talking I found out that she was a server at this great new place downtown. She became very excited and animated in describing the concept, atmosphere and the menu. I told her my wife and I were always looking for the newest places downtown and that we would definitely stop in. EVERYTHING Krista said was spot on. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming. The floor plan was completely open. The place was well attended. The staff was very accommodating and we even asked for Krista to be our server. She was excellent and very descriptive in her suggestions from our drink selections as well as our food. She even talked up the company and also mentioned other establishments in town owned by the Circo Taco Bourbon Joint owners. Well... high hopes, low results. It's new so the honeymoon phase isn't over, which accounts for the crowd. It's very noisy because it's just a square box with a high roof. The food was a total miss for us. The Salsa Rojo was uninspired and had the consistency of baby food. Not a true salsa. The wife's guacamole was also uninspired and short on typical guac ingredients. Wife ordered Mongolian tacos and I went for Angus beef. Don't know what my wife's meat was, but there was nothing Mongolian about it. My "Angus" beef was heavily stewed and not fresh shaved. I have ordered takeout tacos twice when I was going shopping at Whole Foods next door. Circo had my food ready on time and the choices were very tasty--not the usual Mexican tacos, but little bites of unusual and tasty ingredients (maybe 10 different choices of tacos?). You order by the taco so you can order as many as you want and there are side dishes, also. The hostess/waitstaff was very helpful since I don't like hot sauce and the ingredients were explained to me. The tacos come in a nice container that keeps them all from mixing together. Tried this on a whim, and I am pleasantly surprised. If you're looking for a quiet place to sit and eat, this probably wouldn't be the place. However, for a chill evening this is the place to go. The staff is WONDERFUL and food came out very quickly. They really make sure you're satisfied with your meal. Tacos are phenomenal (my favorite of the evening was the korean pork) as well as the fresh chips a queso. They have board games and flexible seating as well as a weekly special that changes every Tuesday. We have been waiting for a long time for this place to open up and we were not disappointed! The bartenders and servers were amazing. The tacos were off the chain and it's a really cool looking spot. Oh, and the Bourbon and Mezcal selection is amaaaazzzzing! The tacos were amazing, the margarita was delicious and not too sweet (hard to come by), and I loved the tortilla chips! I will say the staff seemed a little frenzied/unorganized, but I'm assuming that's because they're newly opened and still working out the kinks. Been a few times, both with friends and without. It's been a great experience each time. A nice place to hang for awhile with friends and a great place to have a quick lunch break. While I haven't tried everything on the menu yet, everything I have tried has been very yummy. My favorite item to order is the walking taco. Everything is priced well as well. The drinks were amazing, the waiters friendly and helpful, the wait wasn't long and the food was so, so amazing. There is a good amount of choices and a nice spice range whether spicy is your thing, or not. There are alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks that are amazing. I cannot recommend enough their mocktails. the building itself was beautiful and clean. I sincerely regret that I am only visiting Sarasota and that I will not have this amazing restaurant on hand near me. read more

I attended a bourbon dinner tasting at Circo, and it was an amazing experience! The atmosphere was friendly, and we were welcomed with a complimentary drink. Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to taste four different bourbons and enjoy three different tacos. The location is fantastic, situated right in downtown Sarasota, and I love the vibe--it offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Our server, Nova, was exceptional! FIRE THE MANAGER IMMEDIATELY! SAVE YOUR RESTAURANT. Never had a worse experience than tonight! Never in my life have I been called a RACIST and a DRUNK by a Manager or anyone else. If I owned this place, she would have been let go TONIGHT. SO EMBARRASSING for the staff, customers, and, especially, our waitress who was in tears. Please don't go to this restaurant as long as this Manager, who, by the way, told the 7 of us that she was the OWNER...which was a lie. read more

First time here and I was impressed! We came here for dinner before some drinks for our anniversary. Our server Chris was amazing. He was very friendly and offered great recommendations. We started with chips and queso and they did not disappoint. Great portions! The Birra beef taco was excellent. I also got the gringo taco. It too was excellent. I am looking forward to coming back to try some of the other options and kick back with some old fashions! read more

I have been coming here for the past month and eating at least 2 times a week usually Tuesday or Wednesday when they have BOGO TACOS and all of them are unique. My favorite 2 are the Mongolian and Korean but really all the food is great and service is excellent. Tonight the bartender was Wells and he was very nice and informative about what to eat!!! Hidden gem in Sarasota Florida that I recommend to anyone who loves tacos and different flavors. read more

This place is phenomenal! Our favorite go to restaurant for consistent delicious Margaritas and Tacos! We've tried just about all their tacos and are all delicious; the bowls for sone extra greens is a great and scrumptious choice as well! Don't forget to order their chips and salsa or homemade guacamole.... yum! Last but not least the margaritas are fantastic.... the best in town!!! Devyn and Tim rock!!! Was in town for a regatta and happened onto this place for a late lunch/happy hour. Awesome service, very well prepared food- exactly what you want in a place like this. Had their Birra Beef and Mongolian beef tacos- interesting in a great way. Good beer and bourbon selection, and have to say again great service- attentive without being too much. A shout out for their "firewater" hot sauce- WOW. Will be back next time in town. read more

Who doesn't love tacos and bourbon? We went and ate at Circo in downtown Sarasota and it was amazing. For a brand new place they really have a great thing going. Our favorite tacos were Mongolian Beef, Chicken & Biscuit & Ahi Poke. The food was eclectic, stylish and full of flavor. Paul took really great care of us. He was knowledgeable and excited about everything and made our experience unforgettable. We will definitely be back! read more

Highly recommend the guacamole with goat cheese. It's a light and refreshing dish. The magnolia taco has a nice sweet savory taste and the Cuban taco was chefs kiss. You can't go wrong with the birria tacos which they were nice enough to alter my dish without cilantro which I appreciated. Within 7 minutes of being here our appetizer was already on the table and had to wait no longer then 10 for our main dishes. Highly recommend read more

Hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants ever. Depth of flavor was off the charts. Absolutely every taco and appetizer was awesome. The goat cheese guacamole was like nothing I've ever tried...a must. Johnny was one of the best servers ever. So helpful, kind and energetic, made a great experience even better. Great downtown location, phenomenal service, and tasty tacos and margaritas! Weekly taco special and happy hour til 6. Takeout service is very prompt, and if you're dining in the team is doing a great job of making sure the restaurant stays safe and sanitary for guests and employees during COVID-19.
