How is it the best pizza in the area for years could have such a dramatic fall from grace. For months the quality has been dropping and dropping. Finally, my last order ever was last week. This place was one of the very few places I considered a hidden gem a decade ago especially when the older native Italian owners screaming and fighting at the older location ran things, they have since retired back to the homeland. Then a few years after that it gentrified it's location to match the freak lame crowd coming in from that god for saken rockaway shuttle piping in those annoying hipsters from east Brooklyn, NOW a full decade later it's last location over at the mall is all that's left with a decent slice yes still BUT has dropped off hugely due to...well...no give a fucks as usuall, young Italians see pizzerias as a money machine no matter how little love they put in and then they hire a bunch of NON Italians bro run shit....yea...INTO THE GROUND! Alright: Their portions are decent enough but there are plenty of issues; we have ordered from them multiple times so this isn't a one time thing. They wrap most of the food in aluminum (which isn't a bad thing but it sticks to a lot of the food) haphazardly roll the food up and stick it in the pizza box. Heroes and rolls lose their cheese to the foil. Sandwiches should be right side up and in plastic containers. Gotta work on that. read more

Tried the large cheese pizza and a beef pattie with cheese yesterday, the location is very convenient on the way to the beach or leaving the beach. The service was cool, happily they had the large cheese pizza that was freshly being made at the perfect timing. I only could eat two slices the pizza was pretty fulfilling. Stopped for lunch- my first visit. We ordered a margarita slice, regular slice, white slice and garlic knots. The regular slice was good, just what you'd expect. The margarita slice completely fell apart in my hands and went everywhere. I sort of mashed it all together like a mushy pizza pattie and it tasted good. The crust was soooo soggy. The white slice was really good, although I love the cheese, it was actually a bit too much. I can't believe i wrote that but it was somewhat overwhelming after a few bites. Great flavor though. The garlic knots were meh. All in all The food was ok. There were 3 men working. Those making the food wore their masks the whole time we were there. The one working the counter put his mask on when we arrived but pulled it down within about 10 seconds and didn't put it back up the entire time we were there. Decent pizza and wings but don't ask for delivery. It's terrible unless you don't mind waiting a long time for your food and really like cold pizza. First off I don't think I believe the story in the other "review" about someone being denied because they had a service dog with them. The picture just looks like it was taken from a fair distance and as if it were taken while someone was just passing by. Anyway, Ciro's DOES allow blind people and service dogs in their cozy establishment. They even have a sign on the door that says it. This is an old school looking Italian pizzeria located in the Stop & Shop shopping center. I had the Chicken, Bacon, Ranch slice and if like Bacon then this slice is a must. It was very steadily busy as I sat there with take out and deliveries. The staff was great. Fast, friendly and efficient. Anytime I am back in this area I will stop here for lunch. read more

I usually love ciros but my last few orders have been disappointing. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and fries last night. I don't know how you get that wrong but they did. The bacon was burnt so it threw off the whole flavor of the burger. The burger itself was under seasoned. The lettuce was wilted to the point it wouldn't even break apart when you bit into the burger and the tomatoes were soggy and yuck. The fries were ok but no seasoning as well just fries. My order before that was a lasagna and I swear the ricotta cheese was bad because it made everything smell and taste sour. My uncle ordered a ziti and same thing. Located on a busy, upbeat street in Rockaway Park, the pizza here is decent. I've stopped in several times. It feels a bit cramped when you first walk in but there are more tables in the back. I had a plain ol' slice and it tasted pretty good. Not as crispy on the bottom as I prefer, but a good slice overall. They had a few other pizzas in the case, as well as some mozzarella sticks and Jamaican beef patties. The table I sat at had grease all over it, as did my elbow. ugh!! The best things to order by far IMO are the giantic chicken rolls. Seriously try and find a bigger one in the NY area. It is massive and could feed two people. Never again! I was informed with a nasty attitude by the guy who picked up the phone that "They only take cash for delivery". In the yr 2020! They tell you 1/2 hr for delivery and one hr and 10 min later the delivery finally shows up! It wasn't edible! It was soggy like someone dumped water on it! As soon as you went to pick it up all the cheese and toppings fell off! It was like trying to hold a wet noodle!!!!! It's a shame, that a business who depends on delivery probably to make most of its money can make such a horrible product. Lesson learned. I actually stood in the shop for 25 mins. Is it really possible for someone who came in after me, have a larger, detailed order and still walk out before I did. Well I got over it. Since their closing I have always kept up with their inspections and they have always maintained an A. Since Superstorm Sandy wiped out most of our restaurants - and they were open sooner than others, we took a chance. Ciro's did not disappoint. My aunt ordered a pizza to be delivered for my last night in NY. The pizza took a very long time to get there and it was really disgusting. The box was so stained that is how much grease was on the pizza. The pizza crust was uncooked and toppings were raw. The toppings fell right off the crust because it was soaked in so much grease. The Crust tasted awful since it was so soggy and raw. I got sick/food poisoning. I have never had a bad pizza in NY before so frankly I am a bit baffled.
