My Penne Alla Vodka with chicken cutlets was ready in about 15 minutes -- super flavorful, creamy, and well-seasoned. I'd give it an 8.5/10 overall. The only downside? The price -- $38 for one dish feels a bit steep these days. Still, with how good it tasted and how quickly it was prepared, I'd definitely return. I have been coming here for close to 30 years! This is my favorite pizzeria. The slices have just the right amount of char from the wood fire to give a crispy crust. Their dough is on point and they use good tomatoes. I tried a zucchini square today and it was delicious. A thicker crust, not quite Sicilian thick, but thicker than your average Grandma. Light, airy and crispy and perfectly garlicky thin slices of zucchini! read more

I seriously love this place! It feels like forever ago I lived in the area. I'm giving it a 4 star for two reasons well 3. The salad was sad.Lettuce, cucumber, and a few shavings of carrot. No onions or olives huge pieces of iceberg lettuce nothing much. The salad dressing just tasted like oil not lemon . Pizza was amazing half mushroom, they use really good mushrooms!! Coffee was great and my father in-law enjoyed his huge sandwich on a semolina with chicken, arugula, mozzarella and ham. The food is delicious here and fresh. I came with my husband and daughter. Our daughter loved the bread and so did we! We asked for more. We had the fried calamari as an appetizer. I had the bruschetta Milanese as my meal and my husband had a pizza. Everything was absolutely delicious. I didn't think I would finish my meal but I finished all of it! The food came out pretty quickly. It is a little pricey but you're paying for good quality food. I've definitely received better service, especially for it not being crowded on a cold night. I felt like the sauce used on both the parm and pizza to be a bit bland and need a bit more spices/kick. The staff here was terrible. They charged for things that we never ordered and rarely checked in on us. I felt that they looked at us and made a snap judgment and decided that they could treat us like crap. I noticed they didn't bring us any bread for our pasta like other tables got. I had to follow up for our drinks we did order. Isn't it standard to bring water for each table when a guest sits down? The only thing missing was milk for people who can't or don't want regular. I really wanted a cappuccino but I can't have whole milk or I'd be screwed. Went yesterday for a late lunch ordered drinks, La Villa salad and plated chicken parm w rigatoni.. Waitress was rude and stuck up.. brought us the huge salad with the entrees!! We asked if they could return and hold our entrees till we enjoyed our salad.. she said @ We can't to that" you should have said you wanted your food in steps!! What!!!! Use your common sense as a waitress and what about pleasing the customer. She didn't check on us 1X ..., we needed grated cheese , water and some extra salad dressing ( we asked for balsamic and was given something that looked like pudding) ... had to hound the bus boy for things we needed. My husband remarked maybe tgey should have brought the coffee and dessert to the table too with the salad!!! Ridiculous!!!! We couldn't eat our food staring at our meal getting colder by the minute. Pretty expansive menu. Local appeal for sure as I'm sure we were the only out of towners. Wanted a spot off the ridiculous traffic headed to JFK for a good bite to eat. However, I was closer to the mill basin location so I decided to try it out. I order a chicken caesar wrap for pickup. I get home and my partner and I start eating,keep in mind we have a peanut allergy. We both start having a reaction and we're questioning whether it might have nuts in the wrap which we've ordered before and it never did. So I call la villa and ask, they casually say oh yea we cook with peanut oil. My heart literally drops and I ask the guy on the phone why they dont have that on their menu its very dangerous not too. He goes ooo we have it on the menu in store but not online sorry about that. I literally explode on the phone because it is the most careless thing someone has ever said to me in customer service. He goes on to explain that apparently customers picking up are supposed to call in advance to let them know of any allergies. Which it does not say ANYWHERE on the website. He's like ooo yea sorry about that again if you want you can leave your number for the manager and he'll call you back. A no frills nice Italian restaurant serving tasty dishes and wood fire pizzas. It is a worthwhile trip to visit their branches in Mill Basin, Dyker Heights, Park Slope and Howard Beach locations if you're craving for pizzas, pastas, soups or salads. I do love their red sauce mainly because it tastes fresh and delicious. It doesn't give me a massive heartburn like other sauces from some good Italian restaurants that I've visited in the past. There are times when you have to wait 30mins to an hour just to get a table, it gets busier on Fri and weekends. Oh, I almost forgot to mention my favorite dessert. Dear La Villa, Your food is great - really, I like it, and so does my family, BUT!!! WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT FOREVER FOR MY FOOD!!??? Does matter what you order - a wrap, a pasta dish, or a sandwich - your minimum wait is 30 minutes plus. The longest wait is for the plain chicken and arugula wrap. It's so big, I usually split it with my sister. BUT!! We waited 40 minutes- why? The waiter told us it's because of the bread of the wrap is made to order. That's nice and all, but why can't you have these made in one shot for the day or something?! Ughhhhh! This place kills me.
