Ciro's may be among the elite in SoCal and certainly in the Desert area; nice crust, really good sausage/pepperoni, tasty sauce. A local Judge we had met told us about this place. We were not disappointed. They have specials unknown to us. On this evening (Thursday) it was a pasta special. The portions were large, the sauce was tasty and the staff was very friendly. I got a $18.00 meal for only $11.99. They have different special most days. read more

What a disappointment! They used to be such a nice place good food and service. Took the family for what we thought would be an authentic Italian meal, instead we got rude service from our waitress our food was a major let down. Our "garlic toasted" bread was not toasted, my husband addressed this with our waitress her response is that's how they make it, if you want it toasted you have to ask. Well I didn't see that posted anywhere so if you don't know DL about the "toasted bread" then you get warm un-toasted bread. I ordered the Chicken Piccata and my poor husband ordered the very dry and tasteless spaghetti and meatballs which had a lot of water at the bottom of the dish. Do they not drain the water from the noodles? Thank you to Gerardo who noticed that our waitress walked right past us when we asked for the check didn't even bother to turn around when called out to. Have been in the valley for only one month. Never ate here when previous owners had it. Lived in the Midwest for years where pizza is considered holy. This place serves about the best pizza I have ever tasted. Great crust, tasty sauce, fresh mushrooms, and some of the best crumbled sausage I've ever tasted. It rates a 5 star. Staff was very attentive and the owner came by to ask us how we enjoyed the dinner. The entire meal would have rated a 5 if the lasagna had more meat in it. I went to this place for the first time. I work nearby and bought pizza for me and a couple coworkers.. very disappointed.. the pizza has a great reputation and even says on the box that you are taking a bite of history. Canned mushrooms and olives that tasted like they rotted in a can? Thats the only history i tasted.. i mean even dominoes or pizza hut uses fresh mushrooms... the sauce is tasteless and the ground beef was bland.. probably more disappointed than normal because you expect sub par pizza from the usual places, but i expected so much more from here.. too bad... very hard to find a good pizza in southern california, but i would go to Mario's before them any day of the week. I took my wife out for a pizza at this restaurant March 8, 2017. We ordered the Extra large Greek Pizza. After 25 minutes our pizza came and I was very surprised the pizza was made with Cheddar Cheese!! I told the waiter this is wrong it should have been made with White Cheese now he argued with me and told me this is how they make it that they use a blend of cheeses. So I informed him that we could not eat it we both are allergic to Cheddar Cheese and he said what kind of cheese did I want I said put Feta on it thinking they could not screw it up this time. Well we had arrived a about 7 pm and this time the pizza came out to us faster and I wondered why, so I looked around and it sounded like they were closing up. The Feta Cheese was dried up and the crust looked over baked my wife said at this point why not just eat a piece and ask for a box to go. When we got home we found out that they also had burned the bottom of the pizza it was charred now I know they had tried to rush it by turning up the fire in the oven so they could go home .I am the one that felt BURNED SPENDING OVER $32.00 ON THIS SORRY PIZZA!!! . The next day I called the restaurant to speak to the Manager, found out her name was Heather when I had explained to her what had happened instead of her wanting to listen to me she defended the restaurant and the food they make not much of a Manager. I told her I did not call to try to get anything from her only to let her know that we have lived in the area for over 25 years and been to that place many times and NEVER HAVE WE BEEN TREATED TO SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE AND BAD FOOD AS TO THAT DAY. With all the choices we have in our area for places to eat at that will be one that we don't ever return to and all of my friends , WHAT A RIP OFF! First of all , only went here because Marios next door was closed . Upon walking in were were seated. A few servers passed by us including the manager . No one attempted to acknowledge us or take our drink order. The host that sat us grabbed our drinks. Another 10 minutes went by before finally our order was taken by the manager . It was very short. No friendly conversation was added. The food was average at best. We were never acknowledged again after that. He checked on every table but ours. Was friendly with every table except ours. Again , the host that sat us grabbed our refills. We had to call the manager to even get our check. In All we felt very unattended , maybe because we look young? Whatever the reason, I am a server as well and this is no way to treat any guest. We will not recommend to anyone. read more

We stopped here on our way home to Az. The owners are from New Jersey, which sometimes can mean good Italian. The food here was very good. The chicken and vegetable soup was spectacular; loaded with chicken and different vegetables. The broth was also excellent. The ravioli was very good, particularly the sauce. I planned my sister in law's birthday party and everything was perfect. The food was delicious, tasty and everybody loved it. The staff (especially Gary and Linda) were extremely helpful, they were willing to help with anything, the even helped me set up the room. They also cleaned up the venue without extra cost. This place deserves 0 stars, but this site won't allow a post without stars, so I had to give it one star. Under the new ownership the wait staff is poor to say the least & the quality of the food is mediocre. We ordered our meals w/ a side salad. The salads came out & we asked for bread, the waitress said it would be right out, meanwhile a couple (probably regulars) sat down ordered their drinks & got their bread before their drinks even came out. We had to ask again & finally they brought out the bread just as our dinner was being served. They charge $2.95 to add a side salad to a meal, which truthfully knowing the restaurant business & for what they give you for a salad, they should charge no more than $1.99. The dinner it self was nothing to rave about. Then to make matters worse, friends had given us a Gift Certificate for Ciro's (which truthfully is the only reason we went there for dinner) and we were told that they would not accept it since it was purchased under the old ownership & they had no way of entering it in the computer. That's crap, they kept the name Ciro's, still have the history of Ciro's on the cover of their menu, meaning they still are Ciro's & they took on the previous owners business & receivables & need to honor gift certificates that were issued prior to he sale of the business. We don't live in the desert full time, but we do own a place here & frequent many restaurants on a regular basis. Needless to say we will never ever return to Ciro's again! read more

Staying in Indio for a week and was going to pick up a pizza from Domino's Pizza but noticed Ciros across the street. Decided to try it instead an go in for a sitdown dinner instead of take away. I decided to try something I normally wouldn't try and landed on the Greek pizza. Ordered a large so I could have left overs for lunch the next day. I liked it that night and even more reheated the next day. Service was great so we went back several days later. The wait staff were very attentive again but somehow the kitchen messed up our pizza order, we ordered a half Greek/Margarita and Shrimp Scampi for our party of 3. Our order was a little slow arriving but not outside what you could expect for a Friday night. Food and drinks came to over $50 but the Bill never came. Our waiter said they messed up our order and the management comp'ed our entire bill as a way to say they were sorry about the mistake. Needless to say we will be back many more times. We had a taste for pizza and stopped in for a late afternoon bite.We were seated quickly by the hostess.my son went to the restroom as he got up I noticed we were sat at a filthy table that was not noticed by the hostess.so I waited for a minute so I could alert the server we would like to move or get it cleaned.The bus boy greeted us and offered a beverage which was nice.he also brought out warm bread with butter.It took a while for the order taker to come by.He was very in a rush and didn't seem interested.to make a long story short I have been coming to this joint for over 25 years and still continue to embrace the staff.The day staff is more engaging and are the reason I pop in.i could tell a lot of new faces and the friendly vibe is gone.my experience felt cold and not genuine.The food is still outstanding!Also the Server Gregg who took our order had a cough that another patron kept rolling his eyes like what the heck!
