Bought the DC Special. The pizza was average. we did carryout so I cannot comment on the establishment. we also ordered the wings and the were below average, not worth purchasing again. I stay out here once a year when I attend the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. This is my favorite restaurant to eat at and I make sure I go every year. The food is so good. I've ordered several items from the menu and have never been disappointed. The service is always great and the staff are awesome. This is a great pizza place if you don't care about frills. It's very casual, but the pizza is excellent. The most authentic NY style pizza we've found in the desert. They also have really exceptional clam sauce. The white and red are equally as good. My only complaint about this place is their bread. read more

We have been coming to this restaurant for years. I understand that it had a recent management change and it shows. We ordered the DC pizza and although tasty, they used CANNED MUSHROOMS and CANNED JALAPENO'S (not quite as bad as canned mushrooms). I've never had canned mushrooms from a good restaurant. Even Pappa Murphy's has fresh ones. We asked for a certain beer and they had run out. We asked for blue cheese dressing and they had run out. This makes me wonder if they are barely making it financially. It was a Monday so it can't be because it is too busy. The side salads were very small. read more

We were staying in Indian Wells and wanted authentic family friendly Italian food. Didn't want to drive into Palm Springs so we looked in the other direction and found this little jewel Ciro's. Went to Ciro's tonight for the first time since it had new owners. Dough was bland, old and sour. Cheese was old and of poor quality. Sub sandwich tasted off. Pizza just fell down flat when you picked it up. Night manager was rude and started yelling when we called about the poor food quality. Won't ever go back ever again. read more

Last trip to Ciros. Asked for fresh minced garlic to put in my bread & butter. Took 3 servers before one brought me a saucer with minced garlic from a jar which was terrible. My daughter ordered a pasta dish with garlic & it came with a pile of the same water minced garlic from a jar. Shame on the owner of this place & a disgrace to Italian food. Went there because we've been looking for authentic new york style pizza in this valley for a while now and someone said we should try Ciro's. And we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered an extra large thin crust pizza with our fave toppings and it was so far the best pizza we've tasted in this valley. Oooey, gooey, thin crust yummy! They give you garlic bread and they're okay. And their desserts are good too - we had canneloni and cheesecake - both were good. We've been back once after just to order the pizza to go, called it in and it was ready by the time we got there - good service, good pizza - we'll be back. read more

Being on jury duty this past week, I have been hunting down decent places to eat lunch around the court house. There are many choices but today I found this place. It was recommended by 5 other jury "friends" so we all went. I have never been here and they have. It's a "Mom and Pop" Italian restaurant not huge but a decent size. We were seated promptly. The waiter was right there and took our orders. Let me backtrack a bit...When you sit at the table the menus are all ready there for you to look at. Amazing choices! I settled on the lunch special for $6.95 which includes either soup or salad and a main course. I ordered the eggplant parmesan and a salad. Fresh and hot garlic bread arrived and we all dug in...wow...really good and just the right amount of garlic for my taste. Another order arrived when we had finished the first...all included! OK, I am impressed. Salad was "ok"...nothing special but it was fresh and good. My meal was presented in a huge bowl...pasta with the eggplant placed perfectly on top...and the sauce...OMG...excellent! It was a visual delight! One gal ordered the personal size pizza...Let me tell you, folks. 3 people could have had that one pizza easily! Thin crust loaded with what she wanted (black olives and mushrooms)...I just about grabbed her's for myself. She raved about it and took half of it home. I am sure I will be back again next week...too good not to go again. Personal size pizza is going to be my pick...and why not.? I am worth it and then some! R.I.P CIROS......... as sad as it is for me to say, this place will never be the" ciros" I've grown up with, and loved my whole life. The first time I heard there was new ownership my stomach turned..' will they change the recipes that I've loved for almost 30 years?'' ''do the owners really know the history of ciros, and how it has been a staple in this community forever?!'' The first time I went in under new ownership I talked to this new gentleman who was a waiter there, who assured me that they are keeping the menu ''the same'' and doing some beneficial upgrades like...replacing the plastic cups with glass cups and doing a few other things...... ok, sounds good. Shortly after I see the same man bringing out store bought bags of lettuce, like buffet style sizzler lettuce with the carrots and red cabbage and such. He opens the bag mixes the salad and serves. mmmmmmm except this salad is wayyyyy different than the salad I'm used to at ciros not to mention the salad dressing is different as well. the other food was ok, I had my usual manicotti and a ciros deluxe. I was disappointed, but still knew i would be back considering I love ciros and Its my home base italian spot since i was in diapers. Fast forward 7-8 months I have still been going in ordering my pizzas periodically ''canned mushroom and cheese extra crispy'' and every time its not up to par with what I'm used too when i order ''ciros'' NO FLAVOR! Today I ordered a pizza as I was coming home from a long day and didn't want to cook. NO FLAVOR! Even my girlfriend says it sucks and usually she doesn't say much, not to mention the remodeled, yeah the place looks nice, but to me it looks like every other olive garden now. On the counter it had the owners card Jerry something. ''didn't pay attention'' But what I did pay attention was his cell phone # it was a 714 area code. Ding ding ding now it hit me. This guy isn't from here, and has no idea that ciros is one of those places that is like a historical landmark that you just DONT change! He came in thinking I'm going to change this place and make it NEW and Amazing! But in reality he messed up a little piece of history in INDIO CA and 90% of the people i talk too feel the same way about the place. We will see what happens, but if we are lucky god will drop the old school ''ciros'' recipe book down from heaven and into ''JERRY'S'' lap! read more

I have been going to Ciro's with my family since before I could walk. The old Ciro's was absolutely great. You could taste the freshness and love they cooked there food with. Unfortunately someone else bought it and really messed things up. My family and i would go to the old Ciro's 2-3 times a week! About 2 years ago someone bought it and its been downhill ever since. The food tastes like its all been frozen and then dethawed when you order it. I can't believe they messed with the pizza! There pizza and lasagna used to be my go to dinner. Now its just a memory. They even remodeled and its awful. The manager is now a real jerk. They do not take pride in customer service like they used too. The waitress act like you owe them a tip just for walking in. Its very sad to see what this desert classic Italian restaurant turned into. Now the food taste like a Stauffer's frozen meal. My family and truly miss the old Ciro's. Such a shame. read more

We eat here every so often and had not been there in a few months, I have one question What happened to the pizza! The crust as we remembered was great, we ordered a pizza and the crust looked like a pre made blank and a fail on flavor. Still have a good meatball sandwich though. Used to be a regular in the past but had not been here for over year. Used to have best pizza in the desert, pastas were simple but very good and service was friendly. New ownership is apparent. Ordered takeout pizza and pasta. Pizza was fair but nothing like before. Chicken Marsala was made with dry, tough whole chicken breasts, soggy onions and bell peppers and no Marsala. Pasta was dry and was apparently pre-cooked and reheated. Terrible taste. Spaghetti with meatballs had an overpowering taste of bell peppers - both sauce and meatballs. Very odd taste. So disappointed in my hometown restaurant. The food is great, but the attitude towards the local clientele during festival season is just plain awful. We were rudely told to go away when we went in eat dinner. Apparently, they were having a private party. That's fine, but it could have been handled differently. As locals, we keep establishments alive the rest of the year, especially the summer months. Pushing us aside for three weekends a year is very disrespectful. Shame on you, Ciro's. read more

Their pizza is money! Any time we've ventured to eat something bing else on the menu we both leave feeling like it wasn't worth the expense. I've gotten the chicken Parmesan a few times and the veggies they've served on the side have a tinge of frozen coldness to them. read more

As a native from northern NJ/NYC area, i've been searching 30 years for "good" pizza in CA. Ciro's may be among the elite in SoCal and certainly in the Desert area; nice crust, really good sausage/pepperoni, tasty sauce. A bit hard to eat in the "classic" manner since the weight of the generous toppings causes the slice to droop but definitely a keeper. read more

I ordered the lasagna and my friend ordered the BBQ Chicken pizza. She loved it...enjoyed the combination of flavors..onion, cilantro, the sauce...she'd order it again. I liked the lasagna...it wasn't special, but prepared the way I'd expect it. My quibble is with the bread. They serve you complimentary bread, but that's all it is...bread. No dipping sauce, nothing...well, they give you butter. It's fresh, but I'd think in an Italian joint you'd get garlic bread. Nope. You have to order that separately. Which I did...and was really disappointed. I equated it to the loaves you buy off the shelf at the grocery store...the same texture and the same taste. If that's okay with you, order it. Otherwise, avoid it and stick with the bland bread. I'd give Ciro's 4 stars and maybe even 5 if they'd solve their bread issue. read more
