This is a gem of a place for Tomball. I was in Tomball visiting for business for 10 days and found myself going back here for several of my lunch and dinner outings. This is a little California meets Tex-Mex kinda joint. The crunchy tacos were great, burrito was great, enchiladas were fantastic and the chunky guacamole was perfect. I sat inside and outside and enjoyed both. Staff was friendly and service was quick and helpful. For those new to Tomball and wondering what to try...give them a chance! We had our wedding shower here over the weekend in their party room and it was perfect! The bartenders provided great service, delicious drinks, the fajita buffet was great! A lot of people didn't *love* the chicken but devoured the beef! Queso is delicious. Salsa is just.. incredible. Highly recommend Cisco's for any meal but also for small parties or receptions! We decided to drive out to Tomball to try Cisco and it was very good. The weather was perfect so we sat outside on the patio which was a great setup. The salsa was amazing flavor. We ordered the new mango shrimp tacos which had such great flavor and very full as well as the beef fajitas which were also great. I highly recommend a nice dinner outside on the patio. read more

Cisco's has changed quite a bit since my original review. They have enlarged significantly, particularly their outdoor patio space (thanks, COVID!). We enjoy Cisco's vibe, and service is good. That said, their food continues to be good, but not great. They have become more ambitious in their offerings, which only shows the gap between ambition and execution. Examples: offering cilantro lime rice is a nice upgrade from the standard Spanish rice, but not if it is really only plain rice with some cilantro sprinkled on top just before serving. My chicken flautas were fine, but, frankly, looked like they may have come straight from Sysco's kitchen, not Cisco's. The Mexican street corn was OK, but I was expecting it on the cob and maybe grilled/seared -- not in a bowl. The smoky chipotle enchiladas I had on a recent previous visit were neither smoky nor spicy. Again, fine -- but not what I was expecting. We enjoy our semi-regular visits to Cisco's, and recommend it -- just need to keep my expectations in line. read more

Just had lunch with my husband on a Wednesday, seated right away, both the host and waiter were pleasant. My husband ordered the shredded brisket burrito with rice and charro beans. The brisket was flavorful and so tender, the rice and beans are average. I ordered the Cabo lunch which comes with grilled fish Baja taco, creamy sauce chicken enchilada and 2 sides, I got charro beans and Mexican corn. Let's start off with the charro beans- average, Mexican corn amazingly delicious! The chicken enchilada was really full of flavor, the chicken was very tender (and I'm not really a fan of chicken), the creamy sauce was so good I wished I had more so I could scoop it up with my tortilla chips now to the Baja fish taco, the tortilla stayed in tack, fish was fresh grilled to perfection, the pickled onions was omg the best and the Baja sauce was out of this world. read more

One star because the website didn't work until we kept on trying, and the menu on the website doesn't show prices, and we couldn't find the sides on the menu. We decided to go to one of the other Mexican restaurants in the Tomball area. If you ever decide to put prices on the website menu, we'll consider having lunch or dinner at Cisco's. read more

Oh man! We came on a Friday and it was the evening of the Tomball Parade of Lights so we expected it to be busy but it was insane. Upon arriving the hostess told us 45 minute wait for inside and no wait for outside. She was on the phone taking a to go order for about 5 minutes and we stood there for about 10 minutes before saying, "so there is a wait for outside...cause we have been waiting for over ten minutes." A guy came to help the hostess and said, "ohh well there's a wait now." While waiting for a table my husband got his mother a coke from the bar and an ice water for me. The bartender was by herself for the entire restaurant and the bar so she was slammed busy. She charged my husband $40 on accident so she had to fix it and then gave him the wrong receipt then gave him the correct receipt but the wrong copy- it was a mess. She seemed VERY overwhelmed. So we ended up waiting about 40 additional minutes for a table. We finally got seated and sat for about 15 minutes before getting our drinks. We continued to sit and nobody even gave us a menu. My husband had to get up and go get us menus. After we ordered finally, we got our food probably 20 minutes later but had no silver ware. We told our waitress we had no silverware and she said, "it's gonna be a few minutes. We have none ready so we are rolling them in the back now." So our food sat and started getting cold while waiting for silverware. Also my shrimp salad was brought out with no shrimp. They brought my shrimp several minutes later. I think they were overwhelmed and completely understaffed. The food was decent but the service was a nightmare. read more

This was our first visit. My son and I got the chicken fajitas (delicious and a generous portion) and my husband got the beef enchiladas. There was a slight issue when he was brought cheese enchiladas instead. They did apologize and bring out the beef ones after we pointed out the problem. Our waitress was very nice and comped the enchiladas from the bill. The margaritas were very good. We got the house ones.The cheesecake sopapillas are really really good. We definitely will come back again! The patio is really nice and relaxing. There is music but you can still talk and visit comfortably. read more

My first time here on a late quiet afternoon. Salsa is pretty good. Ordered their Tostada Salad with grilled chicken. I have to say I'm impressed with the generous servings of avocado & grilled chicken. Most restaurants are skimpy with avocado servings and offer scant sprinkling of (imitation) cheese. I love when you find a hole in the wall restaurants that are just amazing. Staff welcome you with open arms instantly serves you get your drink order didn't wait long for food at all. Chips and salsa are really really good they're the lightly thin chips. Salsa wasn't really tomatoey but had a good flavor. Definitely recommend this place. First time eating at this restaurant. Went for Friday lunch. Friendly wait staff. Had the queso and restaurant made flour chips. Very tasty. Husband ordered the Carnitas Burrito and had the tortilla soup for his side. He enjoyed the meal. Said the burrito was soft and it was filled to the max. Came here with my mom, brother and pup. First impression was great, the servers were wearing masks, friendly, there was not social distancing on the patio but it was big enough that we had room. My dog knocked over her water bowl and a server stopped to ask if I wanted a new one right away! Pleasant service, BUT... and it's a huge but I am vegetarian/vegan. I do not eat meat or cheese. I ordered something that wasn't on the menu bc they don't have any vegetarian items but Mexican food is typically easy to do vegetarian. I got two corn tortilla tacos with portobello mushroom, veggies and cilantro lime rice with black beans. The first order came covered in fine shredded cheese. I hate sending back food so I tried to scrape it all off, I couldn't and I ended up scrapping off most of my taco. I tried to enjoy the rice and beans and looked down at my plate to notice a piece of beef (probably from my brothers beef quesadilla...in my rice. I was grossed out and couldn't eat any more after almost eating meat. If I hadn't looked down, I would have eaten it and IMMEDIATELY WOULD HAVE KNOWN. After about 4 minutes of the waiter noticing that I wasn't eating, he asked if I wanted the tacos remade. I said yes please. They remade them, and brought them out with no cheese this time. By the time they made it to the table, everyone else was done eating and I had filled up on chips/salsa because I was starving at this point. The server apologized and the manager comped it off the meal, however I still felt the need to post this review because they need to be more careful. They should be A) adjusting for a growing market, adding other options for people with dietary preferences. B ) they need to be more careful when serving (non-meat) plates. And make sure the presentation is perfect and there is nothing that isn't supposed to be on there aka something they never eat and would tear up their stomach if they did. (And yes, one little piece of meat will do that) And C) they should have had a manager directly come to the table and apologize. We had a table touch briefly at the end of our meal, after our check was paid and we were about to leave. He said "everything alright?" "Great" and walked off. I'm glad we didn't have to pay for a meal I didn't eat, and that I didn't end up eating meat, but I shouldn't have to double check what I ordered or worry about eating meat/cheese if I have told the server my dietary needs, it is at that point their job to make sure that it is what comes out, accurately. That is what we are paying them for after all, right? Service was pleasant enough, which is why I gave them two stars instead of one. However, I will not be back here ever again due to this mistake. I can not take chances like that. It's been 5 years since I've eaten meat, I respect anyone's choice to do so if you want, but as for me, and my body, I take care of it and do not eat animals. I am disgusted that people don't think it's a big deal. It is a huge deal and the owner, servers and especially the back of house should be made aware of this situation and make sure it never happens again. read more

I came by here for dinner last week before attending a meeting in the area. They have free street parking along with a small dedicated parking lot. This restaurant has nice covered outdoor seating but I chose to sit inside since it's Texas in June. After being seated, I ordered the chicken fajitas (1/2lb.) along with charro beans and homemade corn tortillas. I noticed that there are two separated dining areas for private parties along with the main dining room with a full but small bar. First to come out was the chips and red salsa. This pico de gallo salsa and chips were very good. It was served cold and I really liked the amount of content in the salsa of tomatoes, onion, etc. (4). The entree arrived about 10 minutes later on a barely sizzling platter so it was delivered to the table a couple of minutes late. The charro beans were good (3). The fajitas had plenty of chicken with an above average amount of red and green bell peppers along with some onions. The meal also came with cheese, sour cream, guac and pico de gallo. The meat along with the corn tortillas were a 3.5 in my opinion. This was a good meal all in all that I would rate at a 3.5. I wanted to give a 4 but it wasn't quite there with the tortillas and chicken. However for Yelp purposes I will round up to an overall of 4 for the ambience of the restaurant and the chips and salsa. My table service was good. I would be glad to return and try something else on the menu. read more

This place has always been one of our go to restaurants, great atmosphere, food, and staff. I'd like to give a huge shout out to Jake, their new manager in training, we showed up at 8:45 on a Friday night on our 10 year anniversary, not a open table anywhere and as we were walking out Jake stops us to ask if there's anything he can do to help us out, so we explained our situation and he managed to turn our night around by clearing a table and providing us some of the best service we've had there in a long time. Our server did not check on water refills - we had to ask every time, didn't let us know they were out of chosen side dish, just brought something else, and didn't offer dessert, just brought the check. I was not impressed with Cisco's. We came on a Thursday evening and ordered crispy beef tacos, queso, and guacamole for the table. The tacos were dry, and flavorless while being filled with grease. The queso tasted like congealed Velveeta. The waiter was nice but the terrible food and chaotic surroundings seemed to overshadow that. A child was running around on the patio where we sat who seemed to be related to the waiter. She continuously ran close to our table, swinging on the heater lamps and almost knocking one over onto us. The food and ambiance would have to improve greatly for me to return. read more

Our Saturday lunch took 3 hours. We had a table outside and thankfully the weather was nice or I would have gotten up and left. Service was extremely slow. Ribeye tacos arrived COLD and was tasteless. Fajita beef was not good quality and didn't taste good. Rice was dry. Margaritas gave me a headache afterwards. Salsa was average and queso was salty. Street corn was the least terrible thing they served. I will not go back or recommend this place to anyone. read more

I am very disappointed in ciscos, I have been around since they opened and in recent days they just haven't been the original ciscos I once knew. Tonight we went after a long day or work to be told the wait was 30 mins which whatever but walked in to check after 40 and they said the table wasn't ready yet after giving my phone number, name, and everything.... We went back outside to wait patiently for a call by phone or voice while they had some live music going so we didn't mind the wait. We then decided to walk inside after 1 hour of our wait and 20 mins after last check In to find my name crossed out. I asked why and they said they had called me and I said I didn't receive a call, I then got the response "oh we decided to not call by phone, we called all around" then front counter girl then decided to give me attitude for no reason as we were completely sweet and patient and she then goes to her manager and idk what she even came back to say.... All I heard was "you can keep waiting" so we walked out In complete frustration and disappointment. I worked in the food industry for sometime but it is a 100% not appropriate to pop attitude at "paying" customers when they have done nothing wrong except for the fact that they didn't hear you call while they waited outside with live music. HORRIBLE!!! We will not be back anytime soon until they get their attitude filled staff under wraps. read more
