Shouts out to this place. They were sooo quick which is amazing for those of us who are busy and don't always have time to spend hours at a nail salon. They don't do too much fancy stuff like scrubs or massages (you probably can get it if you pay extra) but I don't mind that. This was $65 and was done in around 45-50 minutes. Amazing job. Salon experience was farrrr from the best. The salon was cute enough on the outside but once i sat down i noticed that the table i was getting my nails done at was dirty. There literally was someone else's clipped fingernail on the table as i got my service. The worst part was that not even 24 hours after getting my gel nails done, almost every single nail had lifted around the edges. Clearly the girl doing my nails had no idea what she was doing. I would definitely never go back (if the salon looks dirty, imagine what's behind the scenes) but if anyone chooses to go, make sure you book with someone who has been doing nails for longer and is more experienced. read more

If you're like me and consider nail maintenance an essential yet exhausting errand, reconvene at Citrine. I serendipitously stumbled upon this spot one rainy afternoon, when I needed a pedi (one I'd been procrastinating on) but all other salons were booked. Since Citrine is brand spankin' new, they were able to squeeze me in. I dragged myself there before work, ready to bury myself in a book. I'm used to non-English speaking nail technicians. I braced myself for the typical awkwardness of nail salon set-ups ("Wait, where do I foot which foot when?!") while distracting myself from co-worker conversations in foreign languages. Nope, not here. This is the Elle Woods therapeutic nail experience I've only dreamt about but never truly experienced. Until now. 02/16/2023 - Called citrine la the day of and they were really accommodating to a same day appointment for a semi hard gel manicure with design. I arrived at 5pm and was seated with Monse. I showed Monse the design I wanted and she assured me it was possible. She was VERY attentive to detail and really took her time to clean my nails throughly and overall throughout the whole process. She is very educated in the nail world. When she started on my design she did a stroke with the color I had picked out and told me the color was super runny and she picked one that was a closer match to the picture I showed her. She also painted one of my hands and told me to look at them and to be honest and tell her If I liked it or not and that she would start over If I didn't as I was paying for this after all. I really appreciated all of this as nail salons in LA don't do this. I highly recommend Monse. She is GREAT! My nails came out exactly how I wanted them. Prices: Semi hard gel: $70 Design: $40 Total: $110 Yes it was a little expensive but I did get the semi hard gel. I could have just gone with regular gel to save $. They also have a parking lot in the back which is accesible through Normandie Ave. read more

Well...I found another mail spot in K-town and it was highly recommended by a friend. Being the picky girl that I am, I am very particular about my nails and feet. I came in for a full set and pedicure. I made an appointment with Barb before hand and arrived 15 mins early. It was not to my knowledge that I only had the option of receiving gel-x instead of my normal acrylic because my nail tech is allergic to acrylic. I was on board for something different so I asked a few questions about the difference and agreed. I first received my pedicure that came with a rose petal bath. (It was a part of the Valentine's Day promo) and got the deluxe package that came with paraffin wax and callous remover. Instead of the acrylic I normally get on my big toe I received the polymer gel and it was cute. I selected the gel-x coffin long nails and had a photo of my design. While I'm the beginning of application her original light she normally uses went out so she had to use another one to eventually use the regular uv light that's used for gel polish. (Not sure if that made a difference but it's what was used) She hooked me up! I loved my set! I paid $220 for everything and tipped as well. Exactly a week later my nails were starting to lift! I followed all protocol on not submerging them in water too long, making my showers brief and even wore gloves when I washed dishes. There was no reason my nails should have been lifting and popping off after a week! I was annoyed but I wrote it off to an experience and I liked them for the time being. But it was frustrating to have them lift after a week and not be offered a complimentary service to fix them. It's a business I understand so I just took the L. Maybe the light wasn't strong enough for the bond, or maybe because the nails are already made they didn't fit to my nail bed, NOT SURE. But it was upsetting because my nails were so cute and I wanted them to last longer. Nice atmosphere nice ambiance, amazing vibes with the music and staff were extremely nice and welcoming Maybe I'll go back and give it another shot if there is someone who can do acrylic because their nail art is on point! read more

My nail tech was very gentle and made sure I was okay with my nails before proceeding to the next steps. All in all the service was great and so are my nails! The ladies are super nice and friendly, however I had a bad experience with the actual service. I called ahead and confirmed a time to come in for a basic pedicure and when I got there they weren't super busy but still had other clients and so I waited a bit which was fine. However they put me in water to soak and it was 45 minutes of being in the water and it getting cold without any actual service. I pulled my feet out and sat there for a while and they replaced the water and it was an additional 15 minutes before they started my pedicure. They apologized and gave me a free upgrade which was nice but when they were done they told me that it should be dry and okay to leave even though I hadn't sat there too long for it to dry and when I walked out to leave some of the paint came off. Twice they told me it was dry and it came off. Extremely grateful they fixed it both times but the last time I asked to be able to sit there longer until I was sure it would be dry. Overall spent almost two and a half hours in the shop for a pedicure. read more

I went to Citrine for the first time over a month ago and my nails have held up better than ever before. I came in with not too much time left before they closed (I live in the area and stopped by just to check it out) and Barbs said she would take me anyway and I'm so glad she did!! I have short nail beds, wide thumbs AND thin nails, but Barbs's commitment to helping people grow out their natural nails gave me hope even for mine. She did my nails with Gel-X (my first time getting it) and extensions while I wait for my nails to grow out more and I'm officially a Gel-X convert, no more dip powder or acrylics for me! Not only did Barbs do such cute nails and top tier cuticle prep, but she was super gentle and so fun to talk to and everyone working was so sweet and welcoming. Even though I got simple nails, the shape and color were everything, not to mention the pleasant and enjoyable experience of getting them done (I have a short attention span and usually have some trouble sitting still for the duration of a manicure but not at Citrine!) The fact that I'm still getting compliments on my nails after a whole month speaks volumes and is a true testament to Barbs's talent and Citrine as a wonderful nail salon. read more
