Asked for a long roll, they dont do that, because it's only one chicken breast. First of all, $13.99 is a tad high, especially for a sandwich on a round roll (They say Kaiser I say hamburger bun). It's pricey, but the place is nice and the quality should be good, right? Not so fast. First bite I found the chicken to be very stringy, second bite I was unable to break the chicken off the rest of the breast. I brought it inside and asked for a refund. They were decent about it but not pleased. I paid on a Credit card and they gave me cash back (But kept $1 from the tip). To be honest when you charge that much you better be giving highest quality available. In their defense buying chicken breast recently has been a challenge.

Greg and Diane had been coming to Vero Beach for their winter escape for the past five years, and every season, without fail, they made a point to visit Citron Bistro for the early bird special. It wasn't just about the food--though the lightly seared salmon and herb-roasted chicken were always cooked to perfection--it was about the ritual. This evening, they arrived at 4:45 PM, precisely fifteen minutes before the special started. Greg, a firm believer in punctuality, led the way inside, holding the door open for Diane, who adjusted her sun hat and stepped in with a smile. The hostess, a friendly young woman with a ponytail, greeted them warmly. "Right on time," she said, grabbing two menus. "You know us too well," Diane chuckled. As they settled into a cozy corner booth, Greg immediately scanned the specials, though he already knew what he was getting. "You going for the salmon again?" he asked, adjusting his glasses. "I was thinking of trying the shrimp scampi," Diane replied. "But, you know, the salmon is always good." Greg smirked. "You'll end up getting the salmon." She rolled her eyes, but sure enough, when the waiter came by, she ordered the salmon. Greg went with the chicken, as always. They sipped their iced teas and watched as the early dinner crowd trickled in--other snowbirds, a few locals, and even a young couple who looked slightly out of place among the retirees. "You think we've officially become the people we used to make fun of?" Diane mused. Greg chuckled. "We've earned it." Their meals arrived quickly, as expected, and they savored each bite, chatting about their day. The fresh citrus notes in the vinaigrette, the crispness of the asparagus--everything was just as it should be. As they finished up, Greg leaned back, satisfied. A great new spot for both Breakfast and lunch, exactly what the Village Shops and John's Island needed. The Bistro has cheerful and very attentive staff in an unbelievably relaxed environment. The French Press coffee they offer is phenomenal, marry that with a breakfast plate of the French Toast and it is heaven. I would recommend this Bistro to anyone and for those outside of Indian River Shores, it is definitely worth the drive! read more

It was genuinely uncomfortable to sit there, and rather than addressing the issue, the staff seemed completely unconcerned. One member of our party actually had to wrap themselves in a blanket just to stay warm, which is something you would never expect to deal with while dining out. As for the food, it didn't justify the price point at all. Everything was noticeably overpriced for what you receive, especially considering the lack of care in both service and atmosphere. When you combine the poor service, uncomfortable environment, and inflated prices, it's hard to find any reason to return. Overall, Waldo's missed the mark in nearly every category. When I attempted to start eating a very large Woodstork was fishing on the rocks when the people with the large dog started throwing crackers at it..despite signs everywhere not to feed the birds. It then came up to the window and came too close for me to eat since it was eyeing our food. My husband sat still, told me to do so as well and was holding a knife should it attack. After 15 minutes it finally went away. Now our food was cold. We complained to the waiter but all he could offer was, "Thank you for telling me." No offer to relocate. Our main meals came. Both of our fish were way overcooked. Mine was dry and not edible. My husband's was dry but he didn't complain since my birthday dinner was basically ruined anyway. Forget the dessert I just wanted out of that dirty sticky area. So sad! I will have to find somewhere else to take me and my family.
