Not bad, not great. For the prices you expect upscale fine dining and gourmet quality food. The restaurant and ambiance is in fact casual. The service was good and the kitchen set up is nice, being about to see inside their kitchen with blue subway tile and large heat lamps. The food was mediocre at best. No flavor or seasoning to the skirt steak added to a salad ($34), the salmon special was described as pan seared but it looked baked, the orzo served with it wasn't bad but wasn't amazing either. The sides came in tiny round bowls and weren't even filled halfway. The peas were probably 1/4 cup. The green beans were tasty. The mashed potatoes were not buttered or salted very bland, also very hard to mess up mashed potatoes in my opinion as a cook. Even the summer cocktail list sounded amazing on the menu but was truly underwhelming and didn't impress once served. The cocktails are $17 I ordered the Passionfruit Hugo Spritz and it didn't come with any passion fruit puree just tasted of elderflower and prosecco, I needed to ask for some extra. The overall vibe was nice though, right on the water. That's probably what keeps them with patrons because the food is nothing spectacular or out of this world. read more

Food: My husband and I had Filet and Risotto. I added broccoli as side dish. Overall, it was a delicious meal. Very happy. Broccoli may look a bit overcooked and overly salty. Found this place while in Vero Beach for a baseball tournament. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. In our party we ordered the flounder special, burger, and filet which were all great. The servers were very friendly the only down fall was they seemed like they had too many tables and took a while to get us a refills on our drinks. But overall the food and atmosphere were great. read more

The food was excellent! I had one of the specials - the orchiette pasta that came with a medley of equisite mushrooms, spinach, garlic and truffle. It was absolutely delicious and I would love to see it added to their regular menu. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her steak salad and our friend loved his Wagyu burger! The restaurant overlooks the ocean. Given it's scenic view and delicious food, I would highly recomment Citrus. Our waitress, Linda, was very sweet and checked on us often. One thing we found kind of odd, is when we ordered a bottle of champagne, we never saw the bottle or it's uncorking. Our waitress brought us three glasses of champagne so I assumed she didn't realize we wanted a bottle. Later, she topped us off with the rest of the bottle. Not typical. The host was extremely unfriendly, but maybe he was having a bad day. The meal was expensive for lunch, well over $200, but we did have a $58 bottle of champagne and three cocktails. read more

Sitting at the outside bar I ordered a medium rare burger, after 40 minutes I was served a well done burger. When I requested to have it redone, I received nothing but attitude from the server and the manager. This place has gone downhill! Too many options in Vero! read more

After the second time visit for dinner has won me over as my favorite restaurant in Vero Beach. The ocean front location along with the very friendly and warm hospitality makes me feel at home. Went today with 8 ladies. Everyone enjoyed. It was raining buckets so aw we waited for the group the chef sent over some fries that were delicious!! What a nice gesture. Our server was Alex and he did an incredible job. The ladies that finally came in got rain wet, here he was providing clean towels for them to dry, another awesome assist. They have an interesting menu and a couple specials. I had the chicken thigh special, chicken cooked beautifully but it had the weird thigh stuff that shoulda been prep'd off; kale was tasty but even with the steak knife couldn't be cut. TLDR, beautiful views from outside patio tables, long wait for food, burger doesn't come with lettuce or tomato, fries had too much salt. Probably won't return. Came in with a large party at noon and we're promptly seated as the restaurant was empty at the time. Our table was outside with a beautiful view of the ocean. The lunch menu was a little light in selection so most of us opted for a wagyu burger. After we ordered, the outside patio tables around us began filling up and were full within 15 mins. 30 mins later, we notice everyone else receiving their meals. Not sure what the holdup was but ours came out last among the rest of the patio tables. My burger was warm as though it had been waiting for the rest of the order, and didn't come with lettuce and tomato. The fries were heavily salted.. read more

Beachfront ambience with sounds of the surf is a delightful setting for Citrus Grillhouse. We sat at the porch bar and enjoyed an artfully plated meal. The U6 Prawns were perfectly sautéed as was the red snapper. The haystack salad of fresh greens was dressed with a delicate citrus dressing however The beets were scant with only two tiny pieces per plate. Awful experience. Took 55 minutes to get our food AFTER we ordered. And we ordered from the menu: Hamburger, prawns, steak salad. All simple dishes to make. We watched table after table come in the restaurant and get their dinner before us - the EXACT SAME dinners we ordered. The "manager" was also our waitress and kept saying our food was coming. After 30 minutes of seeing us without our food I would have imagined she would have suspected something was off (like the order somehow never was submitted) and she might actually DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT... like offer to comp bread which they obnoxiously typically charge $5 for. Nope... she couldn't be bothered. after 45 minutes we demanded bread which still took some conversation and concession. At 50 minutes we demanded our food or we were walking out. Food showed up 5 minutes later and the waitstaff forgot us. Again, I would imagine the "manager" would have check in immediately to see if we needed anything but she couldn't be bothered. We had to flag someone else down for: 1- a steak knife for the steak salad and 2-ketchup for the burger. Another 5 minutes before we could eat. The burger "roll" was essentially sliced bread. And they had the NERVE to up-charge us $6 for truffle fries instead of regular fries with the burger. In 20 years in vero this was the WORST dining experience we have ever had. So many other better options. We'll never come back. read more

I love the local feel this restaurant provides. Upscale yet casual with a great view. Came here for dinner on vacation and felt like a local. Service was good and food did not disappoint. Ordered the NY strip special, sides of fries & a side of green beans. Also got the bread as an appetizer. Everything was yummy! I'd revisit and try some of their pasta options. If I lived in Vero Beach, I could see myself being a regular for Friday night dinners or happy hours. Definitely worth a visit! read more

We had a party of six. Service was wonderful, server was knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone ordered the sesame salmon special. Bland, oily salmon was on a bed of lettuce, which was old and awful (you can't cover that with dressing!). Complimentary dessert for the birthday celebrants. Can't beat the location on the beach. Party of 4 with 7:00 reservations, did not get seated till 7:30. Waited 20 minutes before a waiter came to take drink orders. Ordered the olive appetizer, without the Almonds because I'm allergic. I informed the waiter and gave him my allergy list. We got our food before the appetizer came and when it did come, it came with Almonds! Entrees took over an hour. Fish was dry. Service was slow, restaurant was very loud, and I almost died. Would not recommend. read more

Went for lunch and the food was very good. Excellent service and the lunch menu prices are very reasonable. There's a nice covered deck for dining seaside or cute indoor dining room. The prices are quite a bit higher for dinner. I recommend making a reservation. read more

Wildly Dissatisfying ! When the bathroom smells better than the restaurant....you know. Literally, the restaurant smells like old pipes and Ass. The bathroom was pumped full of fragrance. This was so disappointing. I wanted to like it. I loved our waiter. He was amazing. So attentive and kind. That's why I couldn't send the food back. I didn't have the heart to tell him everyone hated their food at first glance alone. I do, however, feel like I can warn other people not to waste their money on the food. It was (small town) airport food AT BEST. Legit 7-11 sandwiches. The "house made chip" came out of a lays bag. Tuna salad was canned tuna and mayo. Curry chicken salad had old brown grapes in it. How long has it been here? Yikes. The saving grace? The server and the view of the water. If you just get cocktails,, you should be safe but I can't make promises. Very disappointing!! Our last night at Vero Beach. What a letdown. The staff were pleasant and accommodating however the service was very very slow. About an hour to get our food. We were placed outside in back, high traffic area. Cheap plastic tables. Expensive for mediocre food. Extremely loud in and outside. Old fan in the did its best to keep us cool. Will not go back!!!! I used to love this place. The last 2 times I have been there have been terrible. Prices are up which is understandable. The problem is portion sizes and quality are severely diminished. I had the shrimp tagliatella for $36 dollars. I was served a bland pile of butter laden bland noodles and 2!!! Shrimp. Totally unacceptable. It came out cold so I sent it back to reheat. The policy is that tables outside are first come first serve. That has always been the policy. Went there and saw 3 tables empty outside so asked to sit there but was told somehow people were able to reserve them. Big fan of The Prisoner Red Blend & saw they had a white wine - Blindfold. Alex gave me a taste & told me about it. Wow! Really great service and right on the water. The assorted mushrooms were good but very saucy--I'd like to taste more mushroom & less wine sauce. Bread was outstanding. Swordfish and salmon on point. Unpolished service with great food. Never a good time when you find out the specials from the people sitting next to you after eating a meal off the menu (wait staff never mentioned any type of specials); order a beverage that the waiter mispronounces so you think it's something you've never had before (but actually had earlier that day); you sit and wait and wait for plates as your appetizer sits getting cold on the table; have used utensils fall in your lap staining your clothes as the wait staff tries to clear the table; and have to ask for water over and over. No big apologies offered for the mediocre service. Never saw a manager or anyone in charge. I'm assuming it's because that's the norm. So many great restaurants in the Vero Beach area. I'd recommend someplace else should you be looking for a stellar experience. The food was absolutely the star of the evening. Kitchen staff did their job with no complaints from us. Too bad the staff on the floor couldn't provide the service the food deserved. read more
