Since the 1980's, they have done quite a bit of renovation to this almost 100 year old venue. I was like most folks as we entered the facility and kept looking around at everything. Staff was welcoming and helpful as I got our "will call" tickets and found our seats for the concert. Such an awesome facility, restored to showcase the design of the 1920s. I enjoyed the concert, but enjoyed returning to this gem in Greensboro.

The parking deck allowed for entry to the building from the 3rd deck. Elevators are available, however I took the stairs for a more scenic route. I didn't feel cramped, likely because I was seated on the end of a row. Even with a mostly full house, my view of the performers was not obstructed. I wasn't sure which dates would be available but was able to obtain tickets to the Wednesday show. From start to finish the staff was extremely helpful. It was nice to see an actor from some films I'd previously seen on a different platform. Though I didn't partake, the bar was stocked with small snacks & beverages, both non-alcoholic & alcoholic beverages. There was also seating on the second level above the bar area to relax or even grab a drink before the show.

Even the parking garage attendant was great asked if we had been and directed us on where to go since it was our first time. It was a quick walk through a park which was lovely and also had some directions along the way. Once we got to Tanger the attendants inside directed us on where to go and everything was very smooth to get in. The front entrance was crowded since it is a smaller venue but once we got upstairs all the same services were available for drinks and snacks and there were not a lot of patrons around yet. I was a little confused as to where to go at first but again the attendants were very helpful and showed us how to get to our seats. Our seats were good too I feel there isn't a bad seat in the house with how the center is set up. I will totally be back when there is an event that doesn't come closer to me.

The Performing Arts Center hosts many events, from the Greensboro Symphony Orchestra to touring Broadway shows, concerts, comedy shows and discussions. The Tanger Center has a parking lot available for performances, and there is street parking and a few nearby parking garages. With Greensboro taking down two garages, it might be a little more challenging to find a space. When you arrive, ticket scanning and a security check are first. I am glad they finally clarified the bag policy to just one rather than three different policies. Phillips Hall is impressive with its high ceilings (3 stories) and a large glass window. It is 8,000 square feet and has porcelain staircases on both sides and elevators in the center. The concessions are in front of the window and under the stairs, so it is a shame that the architectural view is blocked. There are high-top tables in the center for your food and beverages. But I do not remember seeing any seating with the tables. The women's restroom on the first floor is large, with many stalls, extending from one side of the theatre to the other. I like that you can also see whether they are occupied or vacant. Staff have been very pleasant and helpful, from finding where you need to be seated to the Prelude Dining before performances. Seating is on three levels; the orchestra and the Grand Tier can be entered from the main level. The Loge is the balcony on the third level, and elevators are available from the lobby. I've had tickets for the orchestra in various sections, the grand tier and the grand tier boxes and learned where I prefer. It is also very easy to leave after the performances with multiple exits. The Tanger Center is a great addition to Downtown Greensboro that knows how to handle large-scale events.

We got some drinks, and snacks for the buffet (cheeses, veggies, cheesy tater tots fried onion pedals) sat at our table and mingled with the other seated at our table. Actors performed within the room as we ate our 4 courses, and it quickly became unclear who was part of the show and who was just dining. It seemed there were actors planted at the tables, or where there??? The whole thing was well scripted, funny and made for an enjoyable evening. The food was delicious, I'd compare it to a nice wedding meal. Pricing may be a bit much for some, but it makes for a fun evening. I don't want to say too much and spoil anything, but I will say it was fun!

Concession was open with beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. I grabbed a moscato and a couple bottles of water. The film festival is almost 2 hours long. Beautiful and amazing. Comes once a year. You really need to try it.

We had great seats, and the sound system was clear. Parking: We didn't realize there was a parking garage across from the venue. We followed other cars into a lot just before we the venue. There was no charge at the time but it was difficult getting out. Pretty much like any parking lot after an event.

The good news is that random students who were stopped by me several times were kind, cordial, and polite with their directions, allowing me to eventually find the venue and correct parking lot. I recognize the faces of creativity, passion, and loyalty for this institution. School spirit is strong on this campus and I was pleased to feel this, coming from the community.
