Feeling ripped off! Skip Bone Tuesday. I was stoked to try this place out after reading a rave review on NextDoor. Bone Tuesdays are the day you can get ribs at a discount for $1.50 apiece, so my husband drove over there and we ordered 8 ribs and a small thing of coleslaw, which came to 20 some dollars. Now I know why it's called Bone Tuesday,...what you'll get are mostly bones and no meat on them. Firstly we only received 7 ribs in our order of 8, and other than one rib in the bunch, there was barely any meat on the rest of them. Honestly,....like one small bite, and the rest was bone. I'm pretty sure that there wasn't even a quarter pound of meat to consume between two people. Clearly, they used the end bones of the rack and they were skimpy and nearly meatless. The taste was good, and the slaw was your basic vinegar and oil slaw with some sugar, and tasted good. The sauce was good. We hosted a party for about 20 people and got a City Barbeque Party Pack. They have delivery services available, but I prefer takeout. I chose pulled pork and beef brisket for my meats and baked beans and slaw for my sides. Many of my guests weren't from the south so I ordered a pan of banana pudding to give them a southern barbeque experience. Everything we ordered was outstanding. My cold sides were refrigerated and waiting for me, but they put my meats and hot side together when I arrived for pickup to insure freshness. The Party Pack also came with three sauces, buns, and good plastic utensils. The meats had a wonderful flavor with excellent smokey overtones. Every dish got excellent reviews and the baked beans were special. The banana pudding (it comes drizzled with caramel) was a huge hit. I heartily recommend City Barbeque for takeout! Randomly tried this spot. It is definitely your good ole BBQ place. The menu has a variety of options, but just know that everything is al la carte in terms of the sides. I has the Pulled pork sandwich with French fries and Mac and cheese. The fries were alright, I personally like my fries to be golden brown but these were still good. The Mac and cheese was cheesy. I also tried the corn bread and it was awesome! It's more of a savory old school corn bread, not sweet at all. Also their lemonade is great, not sure if its made in house but its definitely in my top favorite for lemonades. The only downside was that the pulled pork wasn't really hot. Warning! So I may be the only person in the city that does not really seem to like this mac & cheese. I ordered takeout today from city barbecue online and it was a really easy process. My order was ready when I got there and it was easy to pick up. They have a nice to go area where your order will just be sitting and you can grab it and go. I ordered the Lolos pork sandwich. It was fantastic! The meat was tender and had a lot of tasty smoky flavor that didn't really even need any sauce. However, the mac & cheese and the coleslaw were very vinegary to me. The irony was that I actually got the creamy coleslaw instead of the vinegar coleslaw and it still was more vinegary than sweet. I ordered the Pick 2 Meats: pulled pork & brisket. I first took a bite of the Texas toast. THIS IS ABOVE & BEYOND THE BEST TEXAS TOAST I'VE EVER HAD. The burnt ends of the brisket are on point. The pork was good too. My wife had the pulled chicken. We were unsure of the appearance, as it looked liked bland Scandinavian fish. Never judge by appearance. It had a good onion & stewy flavor to it. The sides were very good as well. The Mac & cheese was nice & creamy. The collards were fresh & cooked right. They had a dish called corn pudding. It was different but also very good. Finally, there was the banana pudding. Normally, this is the same at every bbq joint. Here, however, they added a caramel glaze along with fresh whipped cream. After we finished, we sat for a little bit as we were stuffed. We looked around and saw tables of families, tables of friends, sitting & talking & enjoying each other's company after they've finished eating. I feel like you don't really see that much anymore. Some will say that dining out is not just about the food but the experience. I feel like City bbq got it very right. Glad to have City Barbecue in the neighborhood! The restaurant is set up nicely with a walk up counter with all of the items available to order. I went with a brisket sandwich and had the option for a bun or Texas toast. I went with the Texas toast and was very happy with the amount of brisket as well the quality of the toast. The brisket was cut thick and smoked just right. I opted for the Mac N Cheese on side and it tasted just as good as I hoped it would. I can obliterate barbeque like nobody's business. I want all the meats, all the sides in my face, sauce dribbling down my chin, strands of pork stuck in my teeth, gut-busting delight with every bite. City Barbeque did not disappoint. My parents had already eaten there several times since it opened and I had the pleasure of eating take-out from there this week. The VERY very good: pulled pork, green beans, vinegar slaw (I'm not a fan of the creamy mayo-based stuff), baked beans, kids chicken tenders (WHAT?!? Yes, they were gigantic and beautifully-breaded), the ribs, and all the sauces, except the blueberry one that was just a little too odd, unless it was smeared on the cornbread. The bad? Absolutely nothing. I turned the leftover chicken into a sandwich the following day with a glob of the mustard-based bbq sauce and was still in City Heaven. I asked Santa if he could urge City Barbeque to open up a joint up where I live, but all he brought me was socks and doodads so I'll have to settle for letting my parents order it when I visit them. read more

Sadly this place has gone downhill fast! I'm not sure what happened. We were regulars and just assumed that they kept having "off days." First, they forgot an entire sandwich that we paid for, had to go back and get it. They seemed annoyed, but I was the one who had to make the 30 minute drive to go back and get what I ordered, not them. I guess it's partially my fault for not checking beforehand. We went back the following week and the ribs which are usually excellent were cold and dried out like beef jerky.
