The food was expensive. I used to love going there so we stopped there. I ate a potatoe filled with meat. It tasted weird and horrible. My husband got a very bad headache which he never gets headaches. I got headache along with horrible pain in my head over where the brain surgery i had two years ago. This is a fast food style eatery. The people that took our order created us with a warm smile. They are very friendly here. The food I have to say is so so . I got the chicken wings. My companion got the pulled pork with beef brisket sandwich as well as a spicy chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich was dry because it was over cooked. The wings were not crispy. Over all the food is between a 2 and 3 .. the serving size is small so you would have to buy a few items on the menus. I'm glad I tried it. Not my type of place though. read more

This place frustrates me. They have good Beef Brisket. (When they have it) They also don't post anywhere that Brisket is an up charge to samplers/meals. I'm now 0 for 3 positive experiences there. The ordering over the phone is brutal. I've had to re-explain my order both times I've phone ordered. Also, BOTH times my order got screwed up. First time I made the mistake and didn't find out till I got all the way home. Second time I checked while still there and was shorted items again. This last time I phone ordered, I re-explained and finally finished ordering in what took about 5 minutes. I was ordering 1 family pack....... Then, as we pulled in the manager called me back to inform me that my order couldn't be filled due to running out of brisket. After figuring out what to substitute they were finally completing the order when I was informed that they were out of the side I ordered as well..... So now we're having NOTHING that we originally wanted.... Already paid and waited so..... we pick an alternate side and I check the bag, DAMMIT!! Shorted an item. I always look at Health Scores for where I intend to eat. Good Job City Barbecue, you had an excellent review. The Brisket, Green Beans with Bacon were all Delicious .. and the tossed salad was super fresh and big!. The Staff were very welcoming and pleasant. The restaurant itself was very clean, with staff wiping down, picking up, and cleaning as they go. From reading the previous reviews I didn't have super high hopes but I was pleasantly surprised! The gentleman working the register was friendly and personable. The food was warm and we thought very good. The collard greens had a nice level of vinegar which I like. The cornbread was nice and crumbly and baked well. The pulled pork had wonderful smoke flavor and I was served a nice combination of burnt ends and shredded pork. I opted for the original bbq sauce on the size. Hubby enjoyed the Nashville hot chicken sandwich - the spice level was comfortable and the chicken was tender. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp. We will definitely be back! read more

Loved my visit to City BBQ! We ordered a variety of items to see what we liked best and everything we tried we would order again. The team was helpful too. Well, this is my fourth pick up from City barbecue. The First time Pick up was horrible as you will read in my review. The next two times were wonderful and I also wrote that in my reviews. Placed an order tonight and they left out the most important item, my two choices of barbecue sauce for my full slab of ribs and my two choices of barbecue sauce for the brisket. Additionally they did not pack the silverware for us to eat at a picnic table. Good thing I had silverware in my glove department of the car. Disappointing. I have never been to this place. And I would be hard pressed to go back. Maybe if I had a coupon. I would try it. Not sure. I went on Rob Bone Tuesday. So the bones are discounted. They must be famous for them. I ordered two bones. When I got them I thought. Wow. They look good. But that's all the amazing I got out of them. The bones looked good until I started to eat them. They had virtually no meat. Only about 1/8 of meat on one side. They were cooked well. But the sauce needs to be infused. By not infusing they get dried out fairly quick. Which mine where dried out. Well the sauce on the side tasted good. I also ordered the Beef Brisket sandwich. The sandwich had loads of meat on there and I also thought Wow. It looks great. And yet again I was disappointed. The meat was flavorless. The meat was tough and dried out. The brisket also had lots of gristle. I don't want to eat gristle. Not my thing. So. For almost $12. Yeah that's right. $12. And no sides for this price. I am not happy after eating. Might as well make myself something to get fulfilled. I do not recommend this company due to the fact the food is dried out and lacks flavor. Our order was delivery and it was 45 minutes later than expected. We live 10 minutes from your location. The pulled pork sandwich was supposed to have the bun on the side; it did not. The lady bagging my stuff aggressively slammed everything in a bag and said here you go. Thought that was inappropriate. Also, I got maybe two good brisket pieces and the rest were fatty and mushy, I couldn't even eat them they were disgusting. They both looks so nasty! We went to this location & there were no customers in the restaurant. They were just preparing a large catering order which I totally understand. We got our food but when we simply asked for BUTTER, the worker said "Ummm no. If it's not out there, we don't have any. We're kinda busy." Then walked away. There were literally like 6-8 people in the restaurant at this point and half of them were waiting for food. I really didn't see the need for the attitude. The rating would have been higher if the service had not been rude. I've been going to City BBQ for years (in Columbus and Cincinnati) The food is always pretty good and service in other locations is very friendly. The cashier was terse and disinterested at best (Alexa) but the hostess (Kelsey) was almost hostile. She was clearly not into being there today. She was short with me and snapped at me. I went to wait for my carry out order where the cashier directed me. It was apparently not to Kelsey's liking, because she snapped at me and told me I should be waiting "over there" gesturing in a general direction as if I had made an egregious error. I told her I just went where the cashier directed me and she responded again (with an attitude and dramatic exhale that I was fine) I moved and patiently waited for my order. The management of this establishment needs to train their staff to engage and be courteous with customers. It was truly shocking. I'm not a person who generally mentions individuals in a review, unless their service is fantastic...but these young ladies earned this distinction with their poor attitudes and demeanor. I've seen other reviews indicate poor service. I suggest that the management get control of this issue sooner rather than later. We just picked up a $200 order from them. The food is lukewarm at best and the sauce from the beans spilled all over the bag and the other containers. They definitely need to do a better job at packaging their items. I give the food 3 stars. If it was warmer it may have been better. So they have great hush puppies, and the bbq isn't bad, but that's where the good points end. First, don't telephone order or order online. They will forget half of your order, and then act like you're putting them out when you call and ask for the rest. There is no customer service recovery here. This last time, they forgot my husband's order, and instead of the chocolate cake and s'mores pudding we ordered, they put peach cobbler and banana pudding in our bag. So I call to get it fixed, come pick it up myself or else I'll have to wait another hour, and then when I call to let them know I'm curbside they inform me they don't have the desserts I ordered and were being "nice" by putting the other two in there. Well, their peach cobbler is gross. When I asked for a refund on the desserts I didn't order, I got the run around. Don't waste your time. Don't hope it'll be better the next time. I like their food overall, but this review was prompted by the Nashville hot chicken strips that I recently ordered. I lived near Nashville for several years and enjoyed getting the real deal from places like Hattie Bs. I know in the Cleveland area it's hard to find authentic hot chicken. However, these chicken strips were not in any way shape or form Nashville hot chicken. When I first received them they looked just looked like plain chicken strips. I went back up to the counter to ask if I was missing the sauce. The employee grabbed a shaker of spices and just doused it in this dry rub type of seasoning. This isn't even close to what it should taste like. Just because you make chicken strips a little bit spicy, doesn't mean they're Nashville hot chicken. BTW, I was afraid to try whatever those black chunks were in the bottom of the basket. Come on people, do a little research before you claim to serve a specialty item. read more

Garbage! When they first opened we spent 150$ and it was delish. We have TRIED 3 more times, including tonight, and it's inedible! Nashville Chix sand are suddenly half the size (looks like a mcchicken) and we sooo overcooked and dried out it ripped my mouth out. NO chicken just over fries hard pieces. Husband ordered brisket sandwich and AGAIN they didn't have any. But when went in to pick up order an employee walked out w A huge plate of brisket and sat and ate it?! Very Disappointed, I have tried the City Barbecue in Fairlawn and was very impressed I wanted to come back. We waited several minutes for someone to acknowledge us and take our order. The lady was not pleasant and had an attitude. We waiting 15+ minutes to get our food. The pulled pork sandwiches were poorly made, wasn't shredded pork more like chunks of fat and cartilage. They forgot to bring me my side and gave my boyfriend attitude about it. The Sandwich did not look appetizing and we asked them to remake it and they gave the same thing they did before. We asked for a to go box for what we didn't finish and the lady basically threw the box at us. I got sick from it and will not being going back to this location. read more
