When I walked in to get my food a month ago, I was greeted very friendly and given exactly what I wanted with no problems. Prices had gone up, but I was very OK with that because that's the way it is. But, I ordered food just a couple of days ago and the same size container of the hot sour soup, which is enough for two people was half the size it was no longer the larger container. It was a smaller container for the same price. I felt rushed out of there and was treated very abruptly when I walked in. I understand restaurants are having problems, but if this is how they're going to treat their customers, they're going to have more problems. I've had to adapt by paying double the amount of money for the same thing that I used to get but to give you half the amount of the food and still charge the same that's BS! Looks like I'm going to have to find another Chinese restaurant that's going to be good and accommodate my needs because I'm no longer returning and I'm no longer going to recommend them! read more

Located near north park, this place gets my approval. I ordered from EZ cater for an office order. I needed to feed 16-20 people. Ordered the party combo tray 2 intended to feed 15 people, Buddha's delight for vegetarians, and string green bean with black bean sauce. Combo party 2 is supposed to feed 15, but you can easily feed 20 adding one more dish. It comes with 20 pieces of fried chicken (spicy level 4/10) which were perfectly crispy and tasty, chow mein, fried rice, orange chicken, broccoli beef, mixed vegetables. There was left overs. I live in Chula Vista and drive all the way to this restaurant because I trust that their GF food is GF!! I have a member in in my home that has celiacs and the GF food here is delicious and clean!!! Everything tasted bland. Beef was a little questionable. Only positive about food is that my girlfriend liked their green beans. Everything else was not good. I did not have seconds, we did not finish the food (this is never the case with me). Leftovers remained in fridge a couple of days as I tried to muster the courage to eat them so my money would not go to waste. Finally, I got so hungry and tired to cook. My husband and I are vegetarian/vegan; they have a great selection of this type of food for us. We've tried and enjoyed all the vegetarian items on the menu. It's a fine neighborhood takeout spot. The parking lot is a little crazy, so I always plan to walk or get it delivered. Portion sizes are typically good, although I do feel like they skimp on the meat sometimes compared to other Chinese takeout spots. I do think everything is cooked to order here which is a plus for their quality. Overall, though, it's a middle-of-the-road spot. If you want 5-star, I'd recommend Fortunate Son, but you'll spent 2-3x the amount there. read more

This parking plaza is so tiny. The area is also sketchy. Street parking is metered along the side street but free along El Cajon Blvd. We went with the basic standard safe dishes and ordered salt and pepper tofu ($10), salt and pepper chicken wings ($13), and orange chicken with rice ($13.50). The tofu was lightly breaded and deep fried with soft crispy shell and soft interior. Had chili garlic and scallion toppings that gave it a kick. The salt and pepper wings were jumbo and very crispy with all the flavors. Orange chicken was also well made. Had the tangy sauce. I think this is one of the better Chinese restaurants that I've been to based on these three dishes. It was hot, made to order and fresh. Maybe that's what all American-Chinese restaurants do, but I've had much better elsewhere (Sam Woo is probably my top but much farther away) albeit I've had much worse as well. I enjoyed it but I'm not in a rush to go back. I've also had the beef and broccoli from here and it was again ok. Might be the best Chinese food in uptown. read more

I went there specifically for the salt and pepper chicken that people raved about. I really liked it.
