I've been to this place 3 or 4 times. The service is consistently great! I never have to wait and the ladies are nice and efficient. No unnecessary chit-chat. I prefer it that way. They do a beautiful job! I get eyebrow threading and tinting and the result is always amazing. It takes about 15 minutes and it's only $23! I live in New Jersey and whenever I am in the city and have extra time, I go there. Yes, they try to up-sell, but I just politely decline the offer. It is not a deal breaker for me. read more

I had my Brazilian wax done at this place a couple weeks ago and the lady Sonal recommended hard wax instead of regular wax. It was a little pricier than the other wax but totally worth it. I had a really awful experience here. First, they aren't professional at all. I arrived for an appointment at 3pm, which didn't start until 4pm because the girl I went in to see was 'sick'. Later the manager told me she had made another appointment because it was busy due to valentines day, so it wasn't her fault but the girl's fault. They also don't like to do what you ask. I went in for mink eyelash extensions but the manager tried to convince me to take plastic ones. I told her I had had them before but didn't like them, still, she tried to convince me to try them. I had to be very firm to say 'no, I don't want them'. I would have left at this point but I had a Groupon voucher so had to stay. Finally she conceded and said it would be 10 mins before the appointment started (try over 30 mins), and suggested an eyebrow wax while I waited. I decided to do that, but wanted wax not threading as I've had bad experience with threading before. Still, she insisted on threading after doing waxing. When my appointment finally came it became clear to me that they don't know how to do eyelash extensions. It took 1 hour 45 mins to do something that would take any other place around 1 hour. My eyes hurt and were watering the whole time and they had to put the tape on and off around 10 - 20 times (no exaggeration) because they hadn't put it on properly. There were two ladies in the room doing it, and they were talking / arguing about how to do it the whole time. When it was finally finished (about 30 mins after they said it would be 2-3 more minutes a number of times), it was ok, but not done well at all. Finally, when I went to give her my groupon she said they didn't accept groupon anymore. Even though I had a voucher that clearly said it expired more than 1 month later and "this voucher never expires". It took me around 10 minutes to convince her that the $95 voucher I had bought was valid. I will never be going there again, and don't recommend this place. There are so many great places in the city but here it just feels like they will do what they want rather than what you ask. read more

The best of the best in NYC. I moved here 8 months ago and don't trust anyone else with my eyebrows. Ask for Nas when you go - super experienced and knows how to work with you and your brows. I've also had them done twice by a woman named Depika, who is also fantastic. I go every 2-3 weeks and it's super inexpensive considering how great the service is. Highly recommend :) read more

While I had intended to merely get my eyebrows threaded, Naaz suggested I do my full face, at the same price because "Everyone deserves to feel beautiful." She was meticulous and pain free. Post threading, she suggested a facial--which I took her up on. Never has my skin felt so refreshed and healthy! I can't believe this place has as many 5 star reviews as it does. They make you feel bad about yourself, lie to you, and then push services that you don't even need just to make money. Their sales pitch is "You have a lot of blackheads and white heads on your, do you want extractions." No matter if it's true or not, they say the same thing. When I asked her to show me where exactly on my nose are these blackheads and white heads, she couldn't point one out or be more specific than just "on your nose." Also, if the place is not busy, the owner will stand so close to you and stare at you while your getting your brows done. It made me really uncomfortable to open my eyes and see someone standing so close with arms crossed staring at my face. She then proceeds to tell me I should get my upper lip done. When I say no she says "you need it." I literally had no hair there at all, and she still tries to lie to me and insult me just to make a couple bucks more. When I was there another time the owner did my brows, and gave me the same BS about the blackheads and whiteheads on my nose. After saying no to extractions, she then with her finger literally taps my upper lip and says, "you need upper lip". I said no, and she gets frustrated that she can't sell me any more services. She rushes to finish my brows and then just walks away to deal with another customer. Doesn't show me my brows when she finishes or say anything. I look at my brows when I get home, and my eyebrows were uneven. Even though this brow place is most convenient for me, I won't be back. I've given it more than enough chances. read more

This threading salon is a gem, Naaz and her coworkers do a phenomenal job on waxing; there are many types used according to your skin type. The types of waxes I've liked especially ate the honey, chocolate, aloe, and sugary hand wax. I took my mother today at this location for her to get her eyebrows threaded and the service was absolutely horrible. I felt as if my mother and I was discriminated against. While thinking my mother was going to be the person to be serviced since there wasn't anyone there but another woman getting her eyebrows threaded. The owner implied that the lady will be finished in 2 minutes and I asked why can't you do my mother eyebrows. The owner informed me that she has a bad back and that she did not want to mess up my mother eyebrows. While we were sitting and waiting for 10 minutes, the owner took two other walk in customers and proceeded to do their eyebrows and they can came in after my mother and I. So I told my mother to get up so we can leave. I will not have my mother pay for bad service. I do not recommend this place. The owner was unprofessional and she should treat all customers with equal service. read more

I just came back from city eyebrow threading and literally had the worst eyebrow experience of my life. If I could give it 0 stars I would. My eyebrows have never looked so bad. They are WAY thinner than I asked for and worst of all uneven. I specifically asked Lisa (I think that is her name) to just clean up my eyebrows and leave them thick, but instead she mutilated my eyebrow. Seriously I do not even recognize the shape. After she destroyed my right eyebrow someone else stepped in to finish the job, but it will at least take me 2 months to grow them back. I was clearly upset, and asked for the girl's name who destroyed my eyebrow, but no one would give it to me until I asked 5 times. So unprofessional! It would have been nice if they gave me the eyebrow threading for free since I was so upset, but they told me I still had to pay. They offered me a free eyebrow threading for when I return , but you could not pay me to ever set foot in this place after what they did to my eyebrows. read more

I came here after having my eyebrows ruined at another threading place several months earlier. The first time I saw Naaz, who understood my concerns and took time to look at my eyebrows and discuss shape, etc. I left very happy. I was so relieved because it took me months to grow my eyebrows out after the last place I went to gave me tiny, shapeless eyebrows. Naaz told me to come back in 2 weeks which I did. This time she was busy so I say someone else. I said, just clean them up not too thin. Low and behold the tiny eyebrows are back. Worse, they aren't even clean looking - the woman left stray hairs everywhere and tried to just cut my eyebrows with scissors when I made her stop threading them. Now it's 3 days before thanksgiving and I look like someone took a pen and just drew 2 small crooked lines where my eyebrows should be. I was visibly upset and the woman didn't seem to understand what she had even done wrong. I couldn't even pencil them in if I wanted to. Naaz was still with someone else when this went down but looked up and just said "2 weeks, come back in 2 weeks". I'm in tears - it takes so long for my eyebrows to grow it will be New Years before I can do anything with them. I'm never coming back. Naaz is good at what she does but the customer service is lacking and everyone else is incompetent. read more

After a few years of going to Looks on east 14th Street, I gave up today when my go to wasn't there, again. Desperate to get my eyebrows in order, I fired up Yelp and began plowing through reviews for an alternate place nearby when I came across City Eyebrow treading. I walked in and was seen right away by Ansu(?) who clearly understood the only request I made, "please give me a high arch." It's always risky going some place new to get eyebrows done, so I closed my eyes and hoped for the best. Some places are heavy handed and others have gone too thin. Here, just PERFECT. Ansu got some help pulling my eyebrows here and there from the other woman in the shop. I knew I was getting great work when she took the time to clean up not just my shape but the entire area above and below. I ended up there for 15 minutes getting a little more than I had planned on. The results are wonderful. I couldn't be more pleased. The attention to detail is incredible. She knew exactly the right size for my face and I swear the work gave me a facelift. I have done threading for years. This is the first time where the lady actually broke my skin! She went way too low from my eyebrows and actually went after the top of my eyelid. It hurts and I can feel the broken skin scarring as it is trying to heal. I cannot believe this place had such a high rating. read more
