I experienced persistent hip and lower-back pain as a side sleeper, and my wife also found the mattresses too firm. When we returned to exchange them for another Tempur-Pedic model, we were informed that we were not eligible for the comfort exchange because we had declined to purchase CITY Furniture's mattress protectors at the time of sale. I want future customers to understand the significance of that decision. The mattress protectors were offered as an additional purchase costing approximately $80 to $300 per mattress. At the time, we viewed them as optional accessories. We did not realize that declining them would eliminate our ability to exchange mattresses worth several thousand dollars under the store's comfort exchange program. Whether you agree with this policy or not, it is an important detail that every customer should clearly understand before completing a mattress purchase. Had we fully appreciated that an additional purchase of up to several hundred dollars could determine whether we could exchange more than $5,000 worth of mattresses, we would have made a different decision. Unacceptable, Misleading, and Dishonest Sales Practices I just purchased a sofa from Raquel Guzman, and what followed was one of the most frustrating and unacceptable retail experiences I've ever had. Raquel explicitly told me that I could pick up the sofa from the Tamarac location and that they were open until 9:00 PM. Based on that information, I went ahead and rented a U-Haul, rearranged my entire evening, and drove over. I arrived at 7:02 PM, well before the stated closing time, only to be told that the information I was given was wrong and that they could not help me. The store was essentially closed to me, and no one took responsibility. This was New Year's Eve, and it feels very clear that I was misled just to close a sale, with no regard for the inconvenience or extra costs I would incur afterward. Because of this misinformation, I wasted time, paid out of pocket for a U-Haul rental, and dealt with unnecessary stress -- all for nothing. What makes this even worse is the complete lack of accountability, empathy, or attempt to fix the situation. No apology. No solution. Just excuses. This is not how a reputable company should operate, especially when selling high-ticket items. Customers should be able to trust what a salesperson tells them, particularly when it affects money, logistics, and planning. This experience was unprofessional, misleading, and unacceptable. I strongly advise others to get everything in writing and double-check everything, because verbal assurances clearly mean nothing here. David was our sales guy who approached us when we walked in. I'm not gonna lie, when you walk into City Furniture, it has a car dealership vibe with salespeople everywhere and they pounce once you walk in. It almost makes me uncomfortable. I just want to roam and check out my options before asking for help. David followed us around the store and was helpful but I would have liked to roam freely. Is it just me? Don't get me wrong, David was very nice and very helpful. He tried to anticipate our needs before we asked. And he listened to us when we liked or didn't like something. Much of the furniture here look similar and nothing really stood out to us. There were a few sectional pieces we were considering. Prices are very affordable here compared to the higher end options such as West Elm, BoConcept, Crate & Barrel. Quality is not the same. But there were a few pieces we did like so not all is lost. We do like City Furniture as we have some items in our house from CF. We like the more modern style. Our kids really enjoyed playing on the air hockey table that was for sale. Would love to have this in our house. They also liked testing out the beds for comfort. The Florida King bed is RIDONKULOUS!!! It's like a California King bed but wide compared to the Cali King which is more length than width. Justin helped us in the City Sleep dept and he was great. Very personable and friendly. I got to test out the Tempur-Pedic firm bed and pillows and I could tell right away these are game changers. But the pillows were $250 each and the bed was maybe $7-10k. OH EM GEEEEEEEE!!! Absolutely the Worst Furniture Buying Experience - Avoid City Furniture at Oakwood Plaza! City Furniture in Oakwood Blvd has been one of the worst, if not the worst, experiences I've ever had buying furniture. I've been dealing with them for over 6 months, and I'm still not satisfied with my purchase. * First, the couch I ordered arrived in the wrong color. * Second, after waiting weeks for a replacement, the new couch arrived--again in the wrong color. * Third, I went back to the store, chose a different sofa entirely, and waited again for delivery. Besides the constant inconvenience, I've had to miss work three separate times for deliveries. And just when I thought things were finally resolved, the new sofa stopped working within a week due to some mechanical issue. Thankfully, I paid extra for the insurance plan--otherwise, they wouldn't even attempt to fix it. Still, I waited weeks for a repair that never happened. Eventually, they said they'd replace the sofa and even gave me a confirmed delivery date. I missed yet another day of work for this, only to get a call that morning saying the sofa was out of stock! Total unprofessionalism. I spoke to Angie from the warranty department, who confirmed the delivery beforehand, but when I called after they didn't show up--surprise--she was "out of the office." Now I'm being told I have to wait another month for a replacement. I do not recommend City Furniture to anyone--especially the Oakwood Plaza location. The whole experience feels like a scam. My experience with City Furniture in Hollywood was horrible. The sales people are just order takers. They promise you they will be there even if there are problems down the road. I ordered living room and bedroom furniture with Shiller. I made it very clear I wanted to have it all delivered at the same time so I wouldn't be inconvenienced having to devote more than one day at home waiting for it. Some pieces were backordered so I waited until they were in stock. Their system is that they tell you the night before when your 3 hour window will be the next day. So that means keeping the entire day clear of appointments in anticipation of the delivery. When the delivery truck arrived, the driver told me "your dresser didn't make it." What?! I was furious and never got a good explanation as to why that happened. So that meant I had to devote another entire day waiting for the dresser which was part of the set that was already delivered. At this point, Shiller, the sales person, told me there was nothing he could do so I started dealing with Jamieson, one of the store managers. I first tried contacting Justin, another store manager who I had met in the store, but he didn't respond to my calls for help. The next week when the truck arrived with the dresser I went outside and watched in horror as I saw the delivery guys basically tossing around the furniture to find my dresser. And right away we all saw that the back of it was totally damaged! It wasn't even wrapped other than a light plastic. Now I was really stuck since I already had the other pieces of the bedroom set. That meant another day devoted to the delivery. I again had to contact Jamieson (Justin again didn't respond). I was furious. He arranged for another delivery and said the piece would be inspected before being put on the truck. Another day devoted to this but it finally arrived unscathed. I next ordered a desk, which came intact, and desk chair, which didn't, through Gisela. They came on different days. Just like Shiller, she assured me she would be there if there were any problems. Again, once there was a problem, she was useless and I had to contact Jamieson. The chair was delivered with 5 stains and I told them to take it back. The next chair that was delivered, after Jamison assured me it would first be inspected before being put on the truck, had a huge rip which was seen by the delivery guy when he went to take it off the truck. I also watched this as well. They were just basically throwing unprotected pieces around in the truck so therein lies part of the problems with their deliveries. Again I was furious. Rather than wasting another entire day dealing with the delivery with a high probability the chair would be damaged again, I requested of Jamieson and Juan, supervisor in customer care, that I would only reorder the chair if I could have it delivered as the first stop. I didn't trust that chair banging around in the truck after devoting another day. The answer came back "no". Despite spending thousands of dollars at City Furniture and then being terribly inconvenienced all those days, they wouldn't budge. I am done with City Furniture. It should be noted that Jamieson told me I'm not the only one who has had problems with deliveries. He was aware I would be writing a review like this. It seems to be a systematic problem. Buyer beware: once the ordered is placed and paid for, the nightmare begins. Customer Care: Please do not ask me to contact you. Talk to Juan, the supervisor, who was not able to help me with my requested appointment. Simple request for a good customer went unheeded. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. On the day of delivery, I was informed that two nightstands were damaged, and I had to wait a month for replacements. They told me they will deliver it today Instead, I received a message an hour before delivery today saying the dresser was damaged as well. My wife and I came here looking for an accent table for our hallway and a new mattress. We were met by a sales associate the moment we walked in the door and he directed us to where we could find what we were looking for and that he would check in with us shortly to help us find what we were looking for. Unfortunately, he disappeared and we did not hear from him again. We walked around the store and found a couple items we liked as an accent table, but wanted to go measure our available space before we purchased. My wife did however find a couple accent items she liked for our house so we picked them up and went to the front to purchase. The front associate attempted to call our sales associate to help us purchase our items. He did not arrive for several minutes so she began helping us with the manager. Eventually our original sales associate arrived and the front sales associate and manager left us to him. He grabbed his tablet, entered a code then ran off without acknowledging us to find yet another associate. This associate was extremely helpful and the manager did come by to apologize, but we were already extremely sour with our experience. It took approximately 20 minutes to purchase two accent items. Our family has purchased many pieces of furniture from here in the past and we came intending to purchase much more furniture today/this week. But we did not appreciate the used car salesman feeling that we received from the sales team and being bounced around more than 3 times between associates. We will not be returning to this location to purchase our furniture and highly recommend others avoid this location as well. read more

I am beyond frustrated with my recent purchase! I was completely misled about the furniture I bought. What I was told about the return policy is a complete lie and a sales tactic. I asked specific questions before buying, and now I feel like I was tricked just to make a sale. I was SPECIFICALLY told if I am not satisfied with the table I purchased I can return or exchange item. So my wife and I looked at each other and said that seems pretty fair...only to be told that we can't return it! This is inconceivable and completely ridiculous. We spent 20 thousand dollars in this place! I wasn't home when the delivery was expected. We tried customer care and they wouldn't help us out. Nobody wants to help us in the store or customer care. The only thing I want is to exchange my table for something that is bigger. When I contacted customer service to fix the issue, I got nowhere - no accountability, no solution. This showroom is huge! It is a former Kmart. They redid it in a really nice way. I did not purchase anything, but looked a lot. I have experience with furniture from another City Furniture but I will leave that out of this review since it was not from this store. I keep looking for a dining room set and cannot find one I found one that I liked but the manager (our salesperson was nowhere to be found) said they will have it available 12/24. On Christmas Eve? That is when they can deliver. I was there in late October. Anyway, their prices seem to range from pretty low to pretty high for the quality of the furniture. There are some pieces I liked, especially for my patio. I will probably buy some Adrionick chairs when my lounge chairs need to be replaced. The outside chairs they have were nice and brightly colored. They have a wine bar. You can purchase wine, beer and snacks. Two drink maximum which is responsible of them. read more

They said they would get me the sectional piece I needed for my couch. I'm not going to lie, there still were issues with mis-communications but I eventually got the piece delivered to the Keys without a problem. At the same time I also bought an ottoman to go with my already purchased couch. That was delivered with problems, but a few weeks later they switched it out for a new one. So now I want to buy a few more pieces of furniture. I am hoping everything will go smoothly. I love how spacious and well designed this store is. It is the nicest City Furniture I have been to. They also have a wine and coffee bar which is great to unwind. I went into the Store, Cesar, who was great. helped us. We got an expensive bed, and a very nice living room table. After that.... It all went down the drain. It was not in stock as we were told it was, so we had to wait for 7 days, which is annoying as you are setting up your future home. Then it was delivered. The delivery guy was cursing on his phone, and was also extremely rude to everyone in my building. He said " we make his life hard" by asking him to pull around to the side of the building where the entrance is for the loading dock. He then went on to argue with our building owner, and was just very rude and not helpful at all, threw the boxes on the floor and put a hole in another one. We also are missing the hardware for the table. Which now we have to make another trip. Extremely disappointed as the prices in this store are high, and the service is terrible after the math. I came here to shop pre black friday and I could not have been more satisfied. The store is gigantic and gorgeous. The staff and management are focused on customer service. The sales staff needs a severe training. My husband and I stopped by to look for an accent side table and possibly mattress. we were greeted at the front door by a man who was to be our sales person. we told him we were just looking and he said he would check in with us later. The store is huge and well stocked with truly something for every taste. We walked the store twice. I found two items off of the accent item shelves which were marked at $10 each (red slash marked). We went to the front to try to pay. we waited over five minutes for our sales person to come to the front after they paged them. He didn't come so we asked if we could just pay with the gal. She offered to help us and began ringing us up. Then the original sales person came and he started to ring us up but he said he had other customers. He truly dismissed us. Which is a shame on his part because we were prepared to drop $$$ on a mattress and accent table! The manager could tell we were unhappy and apologized saying that they had a bunch of customers come into the store at once. I believe they dismissed us quickly once they saw our $20 worth of items and assumed that was all we were going to buy. he passed us off again to another sales person who rang us up. the entire time they had our phone number and on their tablets it showed our previous purchases which amount to thousands. the fact that they dismissed us and it took 3 sales persons , a manager and over 20 minutes to buy an angel statue and candle holder is mind blowing. we will not be back and will take our business elsewhere. read more

I went to buy a Jeff chair. If you look at the photo, its the chair that is on a stand. Apparenty, if you want to actually sit in the Jeff chair before you buy it you need to have a sales clerk help you. Then, the sales clerk will ask you to help them take the chair down. When you say "No, I did not come here to move furniture for you, that is your job" the sales clerk will say "Ok, well then you do not get to sit in the Jeff Chair". So at this point, normal people will leave the store and never go back because most people don't want to do manual labor when looking for leisure time furniture. But since I persisted, it was time for a manager. The manager actually brought the chair down and then manager and sales clerk spent about 5 minutes looking for the plug. I got in the chair and asked "is there a warranty" and the manager replied yes there is a warranty. In fact, they said I could even have it right away on Tuesday. Ok, even with the fact that they asked me to schlep the chair, I needed a chair and said ok because it had a warranty and would be delivered promptly. But then when it came time to pay I was told the "warranty" was extra and also that the chair may not be delivered by Tuesday. So, to repeat, to buy a chair at city furniture could involve 1. doing manual labor in order to see the actual product and 2. dealing with sales people who either wilfully lie or maybe just bend the truth or maybe just don't have much of a moral compass to begin with. read more

Intense and aggressive sales people Spent 6k on my last trip and was going to furnish a new house but as soon as we walked in we were immediately met by Enzo who we politely told we were looking first and would then see if we needed help. We went to the mattress area to check them out and compare one we purchased to a new one and were approached by another sales person. Then Enzo showed up and was confrontational with us for speaking to another sales person. Then he took over the conversation. And was a rude and obnoxious person. He was dismissive of what we were saying and just all around ruined our time and we immediately left. Why not train your team to be polite and not follow customers around and be jerks to the customer. Will take my business elsewhere now. Let a customer speak with whomever they want. Waited a month and half to finally get the last piece and when they showed up to deliver it, it was the wrong piece. Called the "customer service" number and she told me it would be 24-48 hours until they could even figure out if they had the piece I needed in stock. I asked for a discount for my next purchase for the incompetence and they said no. I purchased the Rio King Bed on Black Friday 2021. After several delays, backorders, and issues for months with little to no help or updates from City Furniture finally in May 2022 the bed was scheduled for delivery. Unfortunately, on delivery the bed got damaged as the delivery guys were bringing the bed in. They immediately called it in and reported it as damaged. City Furniture refused to take the bed back and insisted it had to be reported as damaged and repair needed to be attempted. We knew it was not repairable, even the delivery guy did too, but we had no choice to get any assistance. No shock, the repair team came out and said this is NOT repairable and immediately reported that.  After months of going back and forth we finally were offered the option to reselect but there were no other beds we liked or wanted. We tried several times to look at the showroom and even multiple times called in hoping a replacement bed would be in stock so we could have this bed. That did not occur either. We were told a credit is placed on the account and we can use it anytime for any items in store. I called twice to verify the amount and usage. This past week I was advised, the credit had expired, and they will not extend it again. They also refused to refund the warranty which was never used too since the bed was damaged day 1 too. I finally spoke to Lissette, an alleged customer service supervisor today who echoed, we will not offer you the credit anymore and best we will do is offer you 15% off a future order despite all these mishaps by the company, not the customer at any point. So now nearly 3 years later I spent $1600 for a bed that was damaged from day 1. I have used City Furniture many times and they have always been helpful with customers but it appears that is no longer the case and I felt it was necessary to share this horrendous experience with others too. read more

The worst customer service we have ever encountered. My parents bought a recliner with a salesman that seemed to be so nice and helpful but turned out to useless and a liar. The recliner is not compatible with our tv and is uncomfortable compared to the floor model. When my parents texted and called him, he was nowhere to be found. He never stated that they had a no return or exchange policy. They went to the store and waited 30 minutes for the store manager who commented that no one sits on the chair so long and asked my father if he was sick or something. Working in retail myself, any manager who spoke like that to a customer would be reprimanded or fired. But they think they can get away with this kind of service. Looking at the rest of these reviews I see this is the way they treat all their customers. I will continue reaching out to corporate to file my complain. Sales people who tell you there is a 120 day guarantee on all mattresses then when you buy and only after its delivered they tell you - oh no that isn't our policy. you have to buy that policy. so i say ok i can buy the policy..oh no you had to order that at the same time...well if your sales people say that all items come with the policy how am i supposed to know it is an extra feature. That's called BAIT AND SWITCH! It is a notoriously terrible sales gimmick. The customer service people REFUSE to do anything and now tell me I cant even make a return. Geraldine in customer service is truly terrible at her job and had me on the phone for over an hour and half to patronize and lie to me over and over. TERRIBLE COMPANY. I wish I could give them 0 stars! Please take your business elsewhere, they don't care about customers at all. I tried to talk to a manager twice once over the phone and also at the store, both times they refused and sent the sales associate to talk to us. We purchase a sofa in May with estimated delivery in August, which was ok with us because we still had our sofa... at the end of June we received a text stating that all parts of our sectional were available for delivery, so we logged in, and picked a delivery date to be June 29th. The day before they called to confirm so we threw away our old sofa. The morning of the delivery they called us again stating that only 2 pieces of the sectional were available for delivery, the 3rd one was expected by 1st week of august and the 4th one by September. We were fine waiting because we had a sofa, now we don't have our old sofa, and the new one is in BO until September! we thought they were a thrust worthy company. Tried to cancel the order 3 times, but they didn't do it. I received a call from the credit card company saying that I was late on my payment!!! Best sales person, but Worst experience, worst customer service. If you ever have an issue they will not work with you to fix it! Very disappointed. read more
