City Kitchen was established in 2018 and right in the NoHo Arts District, surrounded by many restaurants/bar. They have no parking, but thankfully we found a meter closeby. We walked in with my son today around 3:15pm and were greeted by Nick, who was the only other person in the restaurant other than us. On a sunny and HOT day such as today, the A/C wasn't working and they only had 2 giant ceiling fans spinning, which were barely providing any relief. We were so hot and sweaty the entire time and it was very uncomfortable. My son stayed with water and I ordered their freshly squeezed orange juice, which was delicious. They have a very extensive breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner menu ranging from omelettes, breakfast plates, French toast, pancakes, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, paninis, burgers, salads, and much more. They also had a big refrigerator full of bottled drinks, juice, sodas, etc. Limited dessert menu options, but we skipped dessert. We were too full. We got a couple of different menu items to try, starting with the Goat Cheese and Spinach omelette that came with sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms. It was absolutely DELICIOUS and made to PERFECTION! They also didn't skimp on any of the ingredients. It came with a side of sourdough toast and I opted for a fruit cup instead of fries or hashbrowns. The next item was the Caprese Panini, which comes with your standard mozzarella/tomato/basil, but I added chicken breast to it. Got this one with garlic fries, but it came to the table with regular fries. Nick said it was his mistake and offered to take it back, but we were too hungry and told him to just leave it. Also got their Avocado toast which came on a thick slice of Sourdough bread. It had over-easy eggs on top of the avocado, with arugula and sriracha mayo. This was also very tasty and the eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. My son had the chicken burger but asked for it to be wrapped in lettuce instead of the standard brioche bun it comes with. He said it was fine. The place was super dead and the decor was mostly just framed photos of iconic LA buildings/landmarks and there was a pretty cool mural on the ceiling of different legendary artists, such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Selena, and Tupac. Some of the furniture seemed pretty old and the fluff was coming out from inside the sofas. They also had 2-3 TVs playing, but the volume was off. Also have 2 bathrooms, one for each gender. We didn't use them, but hopefully they were clean. The restaurant was clean as well. Overall, it was a pretty decent experience and the food was really good. Service was good too, although Nick seemed to be checking on us too frequently, maybe since we were the only people there. Also, I'm not sure what's up with their hours, because Yelp, Google, and their website all say different things. I thought they close at 5pm, but he turned away a couple at 4:20pm, saying the kitchen was closed. After we left around 4:45, he locked up the doors and went home. Then on their website, it says they're open until 9pm. I'm not sure where the disconnect is here. I would probably come back if I'm in the area again, and I recommend this place for a quick lunch (if the A/C is working). read more

Just found another go-to place for brunch. City Kitchen is located in the heart of the trendy NoHo area. And it certainly fits right in. Awesome vibe, high ceilings, and super clean. David and Nick offered fast and friendly service. Hats off Gents! I love that all the utensils and condiments were already at the table, including straws if you so desire. Food: I really wanted the brisket, but they were out. I opted for the meat omelette and my mom scored the avocado toast. Both were excellent. Which gives be incentive to come back for that brisket. Parking may be a challenge. They have a small lot in the back. Street metered parking, free on Sundays of course. We noticed a ton of to-go/grubhub orders. Popularity is there. This place is great! I came in recently to meet my friend for lunch. I got the two egg breakfast with bacon and she got the brisket. Both were amazing. I also got a coffee. There is paid parking in the lot out behind them which is not very expensive. Bring your coins for the machine if you park there. The waiter was very nice and prompt with servicing us and giving me refills on coffee. The place is also very cute. It looks like a place hipsters would go to. Whoever designed the interior did a great job! It felt cozy and modern. Thank you for the great service and the food was quite delicious. This casual cool spacious hall of a restaurant is located in North Hollywood off Lankershim Blvd near the corner of Lankershim/Magnolia Blvd neighboring local gems like PitFire Pizza, Big Mama & Papas pizza, Horror Vibes Coffee, the former House of Intuition, El Portal Theater and Laemmle Theater across the street to name a few. We had brunch out for my friend Mike's birthday. Being a party of eight I knew to make a reservation, which they do accept either via phone call or via google reservations (maybe yelp reservations in the future). I booked on Tuesday via Google and followed up with a phone call just before they closed at 3pm - which is only on Monday and Tuesdays. The rest of the week they're open from 9am to 9pm. We sat near the back at a long table just past their bar area, which they have loads of seating at. The tables and chairs were plenty comfy and we noted some booth and tall table seating on the way in. All the tables have silverware, condiments and essentials all ready for you and your C.K. experience. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner items making it great for brunch and/or their all day breakfast offerings. Omelettes, paninis, pasta, salads, sandwiches, sides, starters/apps, wraps, desserts, burgers, and beverages including bottomless mimosas, mimosas by the bottle or by the glass with five assorted options (cranberry, guava, apple, orange or strawberry lemonade. The brunch beverage fun doesn't stop there with Sangria as well as organic tea, coffee, soft drinks, kombucha, gatorade, juice, plus still or sparkling water. Since City K doesn't have any clearly noted vegan options on their menu. I made a note of most of the vegetarian items that could be easily modified like the veggie sandwich/wrap w/o mozzarella cheese. It was pretty tasty, especially paired up with sweet potato fries. Everyone in our group very much enjoyed their meals from pancakes to hashbrowns and beyond. All the prices are reasonable including their under $30 bottomless mimosas (90 minute limit). We had brunch at 11 and stayed until almost 1 just as the real brunch rush came in, before we knew it the entire place was completely full versus when we arrived and we were one of maybe four other tables in the restaurant. Restrooms are clean and easy to access/use. Being a local eatery they have some flyers and posters on display toward the back for local happenings. Some outdoor seating is available, but limited in front. Parking is street, meter or local paid lots, though some have few to no restrictions. A little walk might ensue, but it's worth the strut over to this awesome service brekkie/lunch/dinner spot. I came here for brunch with my friends on Sunday while I was in town visiting. Our server was super nice and friendly. He was very accommodating with splitting the check at the end. I'll start by saying that the promise of bottomless mimosas was definitely what drew me in. Me and a couple of friends came here specifically for that, and while the mimosas were decent, you can tell from the photos I'm attaching that the champagne they use is cheaper than the juice itself (not the worst though, it's pretty standard in some establishments). They do offer a few different deals, whether you want the full bottomless option or just a bottle that gets you about five drinks for a lower price. However, even with the bottle option, they don't give you the choice to upgrade to a nicer champagne--you're stuck with the same cheap one either way. But aside from that, the food was pretty okay; nothing to rave about. Based on that alone, I would've given this place two stars, but what really made the experience frustrating was the service. Our waitress basically forgot about us halfway through our time there. We sat there for an extra hour before finally going up to the register and asking if she could give us the bill. The whole situation just felt unorganized. The inside of the restaurant itself is nice, but it was mostly empty, which honestly made it feel even more awkward. It looked like one person was trying to run the whole thing that day. I probably wouldn't come back, and I wouldn't recommend it. If someone asks me where to get bottomless mimosas, I'd suggest paying a little extra and going somewhere better. read more

I have been to City Kitchen twice. It is a pretty cool space, if a little shabby. But after my visit today I am compelled to write this review. 1: utensils and condiments are in table top caddies. NONE were complete. Empty salt, pepper, and hot sauce bottles 2: missing silverware. Had to go looking for a fork last time. Today there was a fork, complete with dried egg yolk on it (ewww) 3: butter and coffee creamer were brought in small bowls. Half the butter packs were open and used! There were empty creamer containers amongst the others as well. 4: only one server on duty both visits. Place not busy, so I understand, but please, instead of talking to the lady drinking mimosas at the bar, maybe you could be filling the caddies 4: the mimosas we had on the first visit were straight up flat. Why??? How long has the champagne been open? My husband's eggs Benedict were over cooked. He was not impressed. He said it was work to eat them. My omelet was missing the cheese. Based on other good reviews, met a friend for lunch a little before noon on a Tuesday. One waitress in house, about 3 other tables occupied, so not busy at all. We ordered eggs benedict for me and french toast combo for my friend, with french toast left plain - no powdered sugar please! For drinks - two coffees and ice waters. Eventually the coffees show up - no waters. Waitress very hard to pin down and never checked in. Eggs benny is ok, although lukewarm. Roasted potatoes are dead cold. I'm not a complainer, so I dig in anyway. The french toast arrives with powdered sugar - not ok. Side of ham is barely warmed. The plate is sent back and just some plain wheat toast is asked for instead (plainly having lost faith in the kitchen at this point). I'm the only one with food now. The toast never arrives. City Kitchen has bottomless mimosas - every day of the week! The banner advertising this was what got our bums in a booth there for the first time. They give you a full bottle of champs and replace it as needed. There are a variety of juices from which to choose. The food is just okay. We've tried steak and eggs, salmon benedict, and the steak sandwich. They all were adequate dishes, plated nicely, good portion sizes. Maybe their pastas or burgers are super bomb, but we've always chosen breakfast or brunch items to pair with the flowing mimosas. The workers are friendly and efficient, though you're encouraged to order through an app. It gets very lively, especially on weekends, and one inconsiderate loud group can take over the entire room with noise. However, there are outside tables too. If you sit outside, you'll be in a wide space between City Kitchen's building and the building next door, which was used as Cobra Kai Dojo in "The Karate Kid". (No scenes were actually filmed in what is now City Kitchen, as the restaurant scenes purported to be right across from the dojo were shot somewhere else - but you'll have a good view of "Cobra Kai", now a gym, from many of City Kitchen's seats.) read more

For weekend brunch, this place is packed. They don't have parking but they have free wifi if you want to work here. The staff is super funny and nice. They were always checking in on us. The place is little dark in the back but there's 2 couches in the front near the window with lights. They have bar seating too. You order with QR code or they come and you can order with them. I got the French toast which you can choose what kind of bacon or sausage plus eggs. Just tell them how you want them cooked. The French toast was pretty average. UPDATE: (12/11/25) This morning it was updated my order would be ready; however it had finally been canceled after multiple drivers had to cancel on the platform due to this company's failed communication. I called and finally got through, but the manager was conveniently jot available and the associate laughed at the predicament. Further highly unprofessional behavior. I have been told I will be refunded, and we shall see; however, the company failed to apologize or address any reasoning behind the issue. They failed to try to fix the problem. Now nothing (healthy) is open and needless to say I will be making contact with their manager demanding a refund. This is highly unprofessional! We stopped in here on the way to a different restaurant. The menus looked great and we were not disappointed. Our food was so yummy and the perfect portion sizes. I had the green wrap with bacon added and my son had the chilaquiles. Both were super tasty and clean feeling. Not too heavy and not greasy at all. The ambiance is very comforting, music is the perfect tempo and volume, setting is relaxing. The service was excellent as well. It's right in the heart of the arts district. A great location surrounded by a bunch of other delicious food and drink spots. The restaurant itself was really quiet when we got there. It was a Monday afternoon, so I didn't mind it. The ambience was nice. Bright light, big windows, and had a good energy. We sat down and were greeted right away. We were helped by Anna and Gleb. Both who were kind and attentive to us. Especially since we decided to do bottomless mimosas (yes, they have it EVERY day of the week!). They even have multiple flavors. I have to say guava is my favorite! They have such a large menu and everything looked delicious, it was so hard to choose one thing! I ended up ordering the Morning Wrap and it was delicious. The homemade salsa it comes with is SO good. I also got the garlic cilantro fries with sriracha Mayo and that was an awesome choice. Such great flavor. My partner got the vegan burger and sweet potato fries. He loved both of them. The only negative is that it is a little pricey for what the restaurant looks like. It looks kind of like a diner, but has prices that reflect a higher standard. That being said, the food IS delicious and everything is expensive nowadays. A first time visit to have breakfast with friends at a place to try. I had looked online at the menu before we went and was impressed with the menu and photos that accompanied them. Upon arriving, the decor is very comfortable, dark woods, cool vibe. The servers were friendly, attentive and didn't rush us out when we were finished. Everyone ordered something different. My go to is usually the Classic Eggs Benedict, which I ordered. It looked beautiful when served. My first impression was it didn't have enough Hollandaise. As soon as I started to cut a bite, I knew it wasn't going to be a good experience. The English muffin was so hard I had trouble cutting through it. There was ham, but a tiny piece, in the center of the muffin. Now to the egg which could have rectified this sad beginning, but unfortunately did not. To me what makes an E Benedict is the egg, poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce which has a hint of lemon. The egg verged on being hard boiled, not the oozy runny yolk I was expecting . The hollandaise didn't have much taste at all but did add a touch of moisture to the dish. The best thing on the plate was the fruit. I've had the E Benedict with fruit plate at Mimi's Cafe in Northridge which was very good and it's $4 less. If I were to come again, I'd get a waffle dish. They looked good and my friends enjoyed their food. My husband's egg dish ( the BMC omelette) looked dry as well. read more
