On those days when I just want to eat whatever I want, Twin Castle hits the spot. One of my favorites is the chili cheese fries with onions. Service is always great here. Parking may be limited as they share the lot with other businesses.

Benny, Head Chef at Twin Castle. One of the fastest Cooks this side of the Pecos!

One of the oldest and best restaurants in North Hollywood for their made on site fresh made donuts and freshly cooked breakfast, lunch or dinner. Twin Castle is owned and run by the Husband and Wife team of Huey and Cicelia. They have been in business in this location for over 30 years. Their menu is extensive, and is one of the only places you can get a Donut, Hamburger or Breakfast Sandwich all day long. As Huey, the owner, often say's, "If the grills on and it's on the menu we can cook it any time of day" This is one of North Hollywood's Gems! Donuts, pasteries and coffee available starting at 5 am. Specialty Coffees, Boba Tea etc... available later. Gilled food available after 7 am. Photo is of Benny, who has been their main Chef and grill short order cook for over 8 years. He is one of the fastest short order cooks this side of the Pecos! Swing by you will not be disappointed!

Wanted to try a new place, and saw it as it's close to my work. It was so worth the stop. The flavor is there and just feels freshly made. Great and nice employees!

I don't know what makes an icon in icon... But being a native from Los Angeles and now living in Portland, this is a must-go-to place for crounuts. But their other food is really very very good for the price and the amount of food you get. They even make turkey burgers, and they have chow mein! It's a family run business. They're such a cute couple! And they've been in business for multiple decades highly recommend

My son didn't make a reservation because it was a Wednesday night and he didn't think it would be crowded. But with 5 adults and a baby carriage, we had to wait for the right table because the somewhat small restaurant was full. We soon got a good spot and ordered the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers. The ceviche was served on a bed of crispy noodles and it was refreshing and satisfying. The dumplings were crispy, not greasy, and flavorful. For dinner, we got 2 orders of japchae and 3 orders of bibimbap. With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. But the prices were reasonable with most of the entrees costing less than $20 each. We have four more days in town and may very well make another visit to indulge in that scrumptious food.

I ordered the double cheeseburger, and it was absolutely delicious. The burger was packed with flavor, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the buns were soft, fluffy, and airy. The patties weren't smash burgers and were on the thinner side, but they were still juicy and satisfying. My husband ordered the BBQ burger, and he really enjoyed his as well. For our side, we shared the loaded tots. They were crispy, well-seasoned, and a great addition to the meal. Service was good overall. The cashier seemed a little serious at first and didn't really greet us, but when we asked to swap out a drink, she was very accommodating and didn't charge us extra. There was a small misunderstanding when I asked about side options, but she quickly explained that another table had the menu and went to grab one for us. She was friendly and helpful throughout the rest of the interaction. The restaurant was clean, which I always appreciate. The atmosphere could use a little improvement, though. It felt a bit stuffy inside, two of the three menu screens weren't working, and it was very quiet with no music playing, which made the dining room feel a little empty. Overall, the food was definitely the highlight and I'd come back for the burgers and loaded tots.

I've been hesitant because it is in a trickier area, but I had no issues pulling in or parking! They have a few spots in the front, but otherwise I'm sure there is parking around the neighborhood. You walk inside to order and it is not a fancy looking place, but the people cooking the meat definitely know what they're doing!! It felt like an authentic Texas bbq spot. I didn't want the frills, I just wanted good food and that's what I got. I sat at a little table outside which was perfectly pleasant! The road wasn't too loud or anything. But really, the sandwich was SO good. I doused it in the spicy bbq and added the pickles and coleslaw and I ate the WHOLE thing. I shouldn't have. But it was great!! I want to come back and try their other bbq meats and sides!! I loved the pulled pork sandwich and would recommend sharing it if you do order it. Yum!! The service was great, too!!

We hadn't visited since February, 2020. Before the pandemic might as well have been 10 years ago, if the world shut down 6 years ago. We were overdue for a followup visit. Judging by how the food went down, we were sore for it. We ordered the Big Tex: four meats and four sides - tri-tip, brisket, pulled pork and links; kale greens, bbq beans, mac and cheese and fries. We opted for the cornbread in the roll slot. It should be the top meats in your order, by premium scale and availability, but more often than they should be, the brisket/tri-tip selections are, 90%, obligatory orders. I think I have a love/hate relationship with the way LA treats the pepperoni pizza of bbq meats. Swinging Door broke us off proper though. Not too fatty. Great tenderism. And the accompanying sauce complemented the smoked all stars, rather than compensated for lack of flavor. Didn't stop me from loving their Whiskey bbq sauce though. The beans were a true bbq side, swimming in a mild sauce and containing lovely chunks of link. And the kale greens - sheesh - I think they might've switched to kale since our first visit. An effective exercise in alternative ruffage that holds seasoning and jucies for a similar bbq/soulfoud bite. We live further away now. Took the food to go, to prevent the intermittent rain from foiling more of our plans. It traveled well. And since I'm using our leftover bbq sauce on every other meal I cook, I'd say we successfully made do with our lunch substitute.

Everyone is literally there to have a good time, doing their own thing. Like I want to say, this is a safe place (?) I don't think I've ever used those words to describe a bar before! There's an entire wall of board games for you to choose from. We played about 3 or 4 games? And each one had all the pieces, amazingly! This just goes to show you that the people that visit this establishment respect and care for the games, which is a reflection on the clientele itself. And of course, you're welcome to bring your own game as well. We got there a bit after opening so we were able to get one of the multi seater tables. When we left at 3PM, the place was packed! The bar seats were all taken and the outside seating was pretty filled too. So be sure to get here early if you're looking for a table. Got an order of the chicken tenders and sweet potato tots. I saw the reviews and photos and I knew I just had to stop by. Thankfully I had read the review about parking because it can definitely be confusing. Parking is street parking and a short walk to the restaurant. I did see a lot up ahead when I initially turned in the driveway but the sign looks like it's meant for a different business. I found parking right before Weddington and walked to Bruxie. On my way a shady character started following me and speaking to me and I power walked to the restaurant to get away. As I turned the corner I was greeted by friendly staff. There is someone behind the window to take orders but also someone outside the window able to take orders as well. After looking at the menu I orderd the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with a side of waffle fries, and also a breakfast burrito with a side of tots (that I planned to eat tomorrow morning). I paid and then waited in the shade of the outdoor seating which has allot of shade and it's a nice area to sit. My food was ready in maybe 15 to 20 minutes and then I walked back to my car as I had to get to my next destination. Unfortunately that shady man was waiting for me and when I rounded the corner he acted like he was ignoring me but then he started following me again!!! I ended up taking advantage of my long legs and I did a long legged power walk back to my car leaving him in the dust. People saw me walking so fast with such long strides and were looking at me like I'm crazy. When I looked back the man was still walking my way staring straight at me but thankfully he can't walk fast to catch up to me. The point of me writing about this is to be careful on this street, keep your eyes on your surroundings and do not get distracted staring at your phone. On my way driving to my destination I started nibbling on the waffle fries and they were so perfect! I don't know how to explain the puffy crunch that comes with them as you bite down. So perfectly crispy yet soft! I then decided to try the tots and they are perfection too! The perfect amount of spice that gives a hint of spicy but it's not overwhelming. I wasn't planning to eat both the fries and the tots but before you know it I arrived at my destination and both were in my belly! I then ate the Nashville chicken sandwich, absolutely delicious and generous portion, I love the taste again spicy but not overwhelming, it was perfect. My only wish is that the chicken could have been a thicker piece of chicken but it was a thin long piece. Other than that it definitely hit the spot. I am looking forward to eating my breakfast burrito tomorrow morning!
